Amen Elisa. I agree that it started in the sixties. I was there and I don't really know how it all happened. I guess I was too busy worrying about my husband who was serving in Vietnam to notice what was going on in Haight-Ashbury at the time. It all hit home when the cowardly anti-war movement burst into the headlines. It sickened me then and just fills me with rage now when I think about how they sat on the grass, smoking pot and chanting while good men bled and died to give them that right.
Now we have awakened and are going to clean house in 2010. Probably a majority of those sitting in seats of power in Washington are those who sat on the grass in the 60's mocking men and women in uniform. It's time to bring some semblence of sense and courage back to government. The attack on Fort Hood makes it clear that we are in a great deal of trouble and it will only get worse with a weak president at the helm.

I think it has to a lot to do with the media and the way society has grown lazy, complacent, moral lesser (not a word, I know), and in a weird way kind of given up. Look at today's kids for example. All they're taught in school is the views of liberals. I'm not saying liberals as in democrats because a lot of democrats are still good and decent. Heck, a lot of old time liberals are decent, but todays liberals are different. There's a modern idealogy of liberalism that is for the complete government takeover of this country and the world. That is different from the way our parents and grandparents would've described their democratic or liberal agendas. Also, today's media is so corrupt and indecent that our children are growing up not only to think this way, but to accept it as okay or normal. This is wrong!
People sit here and make fun of conservatives or religious people and call them qwaks or nuts but the truth is they're not. The truth is conservatives and old fashioned democrats had it right when they taught their children to be respectful, appreciate what they have, work hard, be honest, obey the law, don't cheat, stand up for what's right (freedom) and always stand up for your country. When did all of these things slip away and get brushed under the carpet. I'll tell you when. It happens when you allow the media and government to become so intrusive in our lives and they start telling our children whats right or wrong and how they should live their lives. It used to be we raised our kids and told them how to think and treat others. Now it's the schools, the media, and the government. It's time we start correcting all of these things and go back to what worked. People need to stop looking down on good values, good principles, and religion and start realizing that this is the stuff that works and this is the stuff that is good...not weird, not evil, not wrong...but GOOD! Once we start realizing this then this country and I might add...the world...have got a fighting change.

You are absolutely correct gerbs. All of the things this country was founded on are being trampled under the feet of those who believe in nothing. Athiests don't believe in God therefore He doesn't exist. Well I don't believe in athiests therefore they don't exist in my world. We send our kids to college and they come home with views and beliefs that are foreign to the way they were raised. We are going to lose all of our values soon,,,if something isn't done to turn things around. The more people who see what is happening and recognize it for what it is...the better chance we have to stop it. America has opened her eyes and is fighting for what is right. We can change what is wrong if we stick together and make sure the liberals can no longer take our country, our faith or our values from us.

I agree. Glenn Beck had a great show on who these people really are. They are called progressives. Do some research and watch Glenn Beck. He is revealing the truth of what is really happening to the US.

I rearely miss Glenn Beck and I get his newsletter every day via email. I'm not sure how we are going to put up with the status quo of this government for another eleven months? Did anyone see the picture of the Obama's standing for the Pledge of Allegiance with their left hands over their chest? I wondered if that picture could be real...if it is it sickens me. We think college is detremental to the mental health of our children...imagine what the occupants of the White House are teaching them...by example. His weakness further puts America at risk by putting known terrorists into the public judicial system as though they had rights. As far as I am concerned the only right they have is the right to die for their crimes...by military justice. All past presidents have kept these radicals off our shores, this wanna be some idiots elected wants to change that. I'd like to pack him, his family, his Czars and his Congress and Senate up and send them to the King of Saudi Arabia...postage due. Let him further destroy their country and leave America to the real Americans. The people are awake Karminak and I think we scare the hell out of the liberals. I hope we have five million for the march on Washington in September.

Reference: "We think college is detrimental to the mental health of our children"

I am a University Professor and I agree that some colleges can be bad - but as a parent you have influence.

My son wanted to attend a rather liberal school away from home ... I knew their reputation, so I offered to help him pay for college (1) if he stayed home, and (2) attended a local college.

-- By having him commute, he was not able to do the "party college" nonsense (I know where he is every night);
--By having him attend a local college, we are able to discuss the "nonsense" some of his teachers espouse.

I teach Business Administration and Program Management in the University ... the idea for my book "Tea Party Revival" came from my interactions with college students who did not have a clue on politics.

Using American debt in a "business admin" course is easy because the key question I pose to EVERY student is whether they would invest in a company with a debt ratio of 90% and whether they would imprison the CEO (aka President).

As for attending college -- choose wisely and do not give in to a child's whims.

It was when we allowed the government to grow too much and tell us exactly what to do.  It was when we allowed the government in our schools and our children did not learn the truth about history and socialization and philosophy.  It is when we allowed the government to take God out of our lives so our children would learn twisted socialist values instead of spiritual values that foster solid character.  It is when we allowed communists to take over our entertainment industry, our media and our universities.  And when that government was growing, we did not realize the cancer that was inside of it.  American government is no longer filled with Americans.  Until we get rid of the enemy within, we will not again realize our God-given rights to freedom and liberty on this earth.  If you are familiar with the boiling frog syndrome, you will know why it has taken America so long to wake up.  Thank God we haven't "boiled to death" yet.  I think we can still right this ship.  The world does depend on us; we are exceptional.

All good questions, Andrea. I am a Vietnam veteran, and I have been through LBJ, Carter, Clinton, and now this fool. I wrote an article that speaks to your questions, called "Who REALLY caused the ECONOMIC MELTDOWN".  I did all the research and wrote the article, all original. https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150265954587123. I just read some other comments below, and you all have a good start on figuring out what happened. Let me add something for you to think about, as I was also a teen during the 60's, and I think I can help you understand, and I want to add they are still doing this to this day...I bought into the socialist "UTOPIA" fantasy.....the idea that we can all live in peace with nobody killing each other...blah blah blah...you have heard all of that garbage. Socialists have used children to advance their agenda for more than 80 years now, are doing so right now. They are selling the same donkey dung propaganda that they have since Marx. I had to have a catalyst before my curiosity kicked in and I went looking for truth. When John F. Kennedy was murdered by Lyndon Johnson and his CIA goons, I started looking into what was going on. I started finding more and more evidence of something very sinister lurking beneath the surface, but didn't know what, or where to look to find out. I ran across this guy in a truck stop one night driving across the country, and he gave me a book that cleared up so many of my questions. I recommend it to everyone to read as soon as possible, it is titled, "NONE DARE CALL IT CONSPIRACY"..written in 1971, and I read it in 74...warning: you will never be the same again, and you will never be able to look at world events with a lack of knowledge again, this book will change you forever. It can be found by simply googling the title, as the entire book is online and can be read and downloaded or printed for free.  Just look through several of the google results to find the one that is free. It takes about 80 pages to print. The book can probably be purchased for less than 5 bucks.  I haven't been here posting due to action elsewhere, but I am a member, original TEA Party member, starting with Rick Santelli's rant on the business channel, and I will tell you, we are in deep doo doo, and I don't know if we can get our country back without a fight. I hate saying that, but truth is truth.
