SUPREME COURT WILL TAKE UP NEW HEALTH LAW DISPUTE
(AP) Supreme Court will take up new health law disputeBy MARK SHERMANAssociated PressWASHINGTONThe Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to referee another dispute over President Barack Obama's health care law: whether businesses may use religious objections to escape a requirement to cover birth control for employees. The justices said they will take up an issue that has divided the lower courts in the face of roughly 40 lawsuits from for-profit companies asking to be spared from having to cover some or all forms of contraception.
Catholic groups are not required to immediately comply with Obamacare's contraceptive mandate, a Pennsylvania federal court has ruled, scoring a win for those who object to the law on religious grounds. According KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Diocese challenged the provision in the healthcare law which require employers to provide contraceptive health coverage to their employees. The diocese argued the requirement violates its religious and moral beliefs.
As happy as I am about Senator Graham's legislation, I would caution you to take it with a grain of that proverbial salt. Graham and other RINO's are looking at the 2014 mid-terms, and they're trying to pacify Tea Party and other conservatives in an attempt to be re-elected. We must stay the course and not be fooled by this stuff and vote them out--RINO's must go!
Thios legislation will never see the light of day. Harry Reid will kill it--but Graham will cackle that he is a conservative and look what he did . . . and please re-elect me. (And if we do, then he will go back to being a blue-coat RINO!)
LATE TERM ABORTION IN ABQ
ROOM SERVICE ABORTIONS IN ABQ
The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to take up the new restrictive abortion law in Texas, according to multiple reports.
On Friday, a majority of the justices decided against blocking the law, which has closed at least a dozen abortion clinics in the state. They split five to four, the reports say.
“Reasonable minds can perhaps disagree about whether the [U.S. 5th Circuit] Court of Appeals should have granted a stay in this case," Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in the majority opinion, on which Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito concurred, according to the Texas Tribune.
"There is no doubt that the applicants have not carried their heavy burden of showing that doing so was a clear violation of accepted legal standards — which do not include a special 'status quo' standard for laws affecting abortion."
REPUBLICANS BLOCK PILLARD
WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans blocked another of President Obama’s picks for one of the nation’s top courts on Tuesday, the latest skirmish in a nominations battle that has intensified partisan tensions in the chamber.
Tuesday’s near-party line vote derailed Obama’s selection of Georgetown University law professor Cornelia Pillard to fill one of three vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The vote was 56-41 in favor of ending GOP procedural delays that have blocked Pillard from winning confirmation — four short of the 60 votes Democrats needed.

COURT STRIKES CONTRACEPTION MANDATE
SENATOR GRAHAM TO INTRODUCE 20 WEEKS ABORTION BAN BILL

According to the secrecy clause, plans which include abortion may only reveal that they cover abortion in the “Summary of Benefits,” and only at the time of enrollment. Furthermore, materials published by the insurer or the Exchanges are not permitted to provide the monthly cost of the abortion premium—leaving insurance-Exchange participants in the dark about possible subsidization of abortion. Even worse, participants will not be allowed to opt-out of the abortion premium once they are enrolled.
Obviously, Exchange participants should be given the tools to enroll in an abortion-free plan.
10.23.13 – “Mandatory Fee Has All Obamacare Plans in Rhode Island Paying for Abortions” -- http://www.lifenews.com/2013/10/23/mandatory-fee-has-all-obamacare-... :
All of the 28 plans available through HealthSource RI include coverage for elective abortion and, thus, under the provisions of the Obamacare law (45 CFR § 156.280, PPACA Section 1303), require the insurers to collect from each enrollee in these plans separate premium payments to pay for the elective abortions covered under the plan. The law requires that the additional mandatory abortion fee be charged to all enrollees in the health plan “without regard to the enrollee’s age, sex, or family status” and whether they object to abortion or not.
