That is a great idea. We already do this in reverse!
It adds a check/balance that is currently missing.
Comment by Rob Hoey on June 21, 2012 at 6:32pm I just want to say hello to the group members and thank them for having me participate. I hope to make useful contributions with my opinions and my blog, Brain Flushings. While my profile lists me in Canada, I moved here from NYC in 2010 (yes there are still a few conservatives from New Yawk), and I've done a lot of work with 9-11 families and even wrote a book about Islamic terrorism. I look forward to this wonderful forum.
Here is a skit you can use at your church or other group for 4th of July...
Fourth of July Skit
This is a skit with no spoken parts.
In the background: silent movie type music from early American times.
Uncle Sam walks on stage A flag is on the stage.
He has some giant books (the audience can read the titles)
Constitution
Bible
He sets the books on the shelf.
Children are around him. The are happy. Immigrants come. They are free. They are happy.
Demons in black tights run towards him, enticing, nudging
He is seated (by the demons) in a recliner in front of a TV.
They hand him a beer
He gets drowsy. He sleeps.
The demons creep up and take the constitution
They tie the Bible up and drag it away.
They pull the foundations out from beneath his house.
The pied piper comes by and leads the children away.
The children are sad. They cut themselves. They fight.
Uncle Sam is sleeping while the TV drones on and on.
Then the demons take his wallet. That was the last straw.
He awakens.
He is enraged! He goes after the demons. They overcome him. They bind him.
He prays.
He kneels and cries out to God in prayer.
Angels come.
Young people come. They say the pledge of allegiance. They say “UNDER GOD” loudly and deliberately. The demons scream and run. The children come back. The immigrants come back.
Singers: The preamble to the Constitution.
Singers: Star spangled banner…. Verse 2
Hope you like it..
Comment by VicSmith on October 2, 2011 at 1:31pm Here's an idea whose time just may have come:
The federal legislative path requires a bill to be introduced in one or the other House of Congress, then passed in both houses, then sent to the President and signed by him/her. If vetoed by the President, that legislation can still become law by passage with 2/3 majority in both houses of Congress.
Today, more than in any recent history, when a law desired by current resident 1600 Penn Ave cannot be passed in both Houses of Congress and presented for "its" signature, "it" merely issues an Executive Order, creating a de facto bypass of the legislative system where the citizens have representation.
Suggested Remedy: Make all Executive Orders subject to a Veto by either House of Congress. A 2/3 majority vote in only one House would be required to make this Congressional Veto take effect. Congressional Veto would make that Executive Order completely null and void. When an Executive Order strikes down existing Legislation, such as ordering officials to ignore immigration laws, then such a vote shall be mandatory by both Houses of Congress, because such Executive Order is directly in violation to US Constitution Article II, Section 3: “…he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed…”.
Result: End of Executive Branch Rule by Edict. Return to Legislation by elected representation of the citizens.
Please be welcome to encourage this idea to your elected representatives, friends, fellow patriots, and all other citizens of this "...bright shining city..." that is still the last, best hope of man on earth, just so long as we can keep the republic.
Thanx,

Comment by Conrad Milton Powell on May 21, 2011 at 1:05pm Over the years I have seen the strengthening of Progressive hands in the Republican Party at the same time that the Democratic Party has totally capitulated to Marxists. Both are socialist. Both parties lead to down the socialist road toward communism. And while one party will detour through fascism, it too will ultimately end in tyranny.
Although I stopped registering as a Republican years ago (and never voted Democrat) I have voted Republican whenever there was no Constitutional or Libertarian Candidate. I figured that my choices were an important way to pull us back to the right; to vote otherwise was in fact a true wasted vote (given the corruption both parties have shown us).
However, I now believe I will once again register Republican. The reason I will do this is so that I can vote in the Primaries to affect Republican choices. Who is ultimately fielded as the Republican nominee for any office – but particularly for the office of President – will be of tremendous concern to the Democratic doubtful, Independents, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists (the fastest growing party in America). So while I can still vote my conscience, I will do my part to ensure that a true Constitution believing candidate of integrity is selected by the party come election day.
This is the best way I know to bring the Constitution to the forefront of discussion during the 2012 elections as it should be. Other than that, I will continue to work on other efforts to raise awareness that the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Original Intent of the Founding Fathers (as written in their own words) should be the primary filter through which all politics, candidates, laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, departments and agencies are judged.
