Comment by Milt Friedman Lives on February 21, 2011 at 8:07am At 4am Saturday Feb 19th, the House passed $61 billion in cuts to the Federal Budget.
The Media immediately began reporting this as "draconian cuts"...as if these cuts would now result in grandmothers and widows starving and getting cast out of their homes and into the streets.
This short video puts the Federal Budget and those cuts into their proper perspective...which is anything but draconian.
The Economic Summit mentioned in the video is co-sponsored by Tea Party Nation:

Comment by Linda Regina Johnson on January 17, 2011 at 4:35pm Recently a group that held a meeting at FVCC depicting Tea Party groups in a very negative and erroneous light drove me to write this rebuttal. The sponsoring group, Montana Human Rights Network, and the group that spoke, Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights, based in Seattle, did this as a state-wide celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Mr. Devin Burghart, the main speaker, has been researching and writing since 1992 on White Nationalism. He espouses that the White man, with the aid of the Tea Party, is spewing hate against Immigrants, gays, and Jews, etc. This came across in the FVCC speech he gave Friday night, albeit he tossed in the message that a vast majority of folks in the Tea Party are good hearted and concerned individuals. You know, Mr. Burghart, in ANY group or cause of this size there will always be some “fringe element,” but the Tea Party doesn’t put up with it. These people are asked to leave any credible Tea Party group.
This April, will be two years that I have interacted with thousands of Tea Party members or just plain grassroots s Americans, who take the time, without pay, to stand up against the growing Tyranny in government today. We are about limited government, fiscal responsibility, (no more corporate bailouts), free markets, individual responsibility and protections of our Freedoms under the US Constitution. On Sept. 12, 2009 Tea Party Americans came together on the Capitol lawn in DC. I stood for many hours, with fellow Americans from all over the 50 states. The estimated count was over 1.8 million citizens. There were FIVE African- American speakers at this event and they brought a roar of cheers from the audience. Two of them were elected to the 112th US Congress in November. Using the race card against the Tea Party is without merit. There was never any incident of hatred or violence In that mass of humanity.
It’s hard Mr. Burghart for you to see the tyranny because you are for everything. In examining your website, and the website of sponsoring partner, Montana Human Rights Network, you’re for: Abortion, Comprehensive Immigration Reform, (Amnesty) Gay and Lesbian Rights, No Death Penalty in Montana, Government Healthcare. Most of these “rights” you say you are for drive the spending deficits in this country through the roof and beyond. But you are vehemently against the Tea Party which espouses none of those things. Tea Party members all have their own opinions and beliefs on these social topics, but these beliefs are not “repugnant,” as Mr. Burghart said. They are sincerely held beliefs. Yes, many of us may be FOR the dignity of human life, marriage between a man and a woman, no tax dollars going for abortion and against Government run healthcare.
We just look at things differently and want less Federal government intrusion in every aspect of our lives. We want our children, grandchildren and beyond to not be burdened with a debt that will change, dramatically, just how much “freedom” will ever be left for them.

Comment by Judson Phillips on January 16, 2011 at 9:35am I need some help from my friends in Montana. Last friday, a nutty liberal gave a speech at Flathead valley community college in "celebration" of Martin Luther King day where he trashed the Tea Party movement in general and Tea Party Nation in particular. Can someone in Montana check and see if there were any state funds used by this community college to bring this clown in.
Here is the link. http://www.dailyinterlake.com/news/local_montana/article_c84b9652-2...
Any help anyone can give is appreciated.
