Debkafile article, scripture and prayer...

Thousands of US troops began descending on Israel this week. Senior US military sources told debkafile Friday, Jan. 6 that many would be staying up to the end of the year as part of the US-IDF deployment in readiness for a military engagement with Iran and its possible escalation into a regional conflict. They will be joined by a US aircraft carrier. The warplanes on its decks will fly missions with Israeli Air Force jets. The 9,000 US servicemen gathering in Israel in the coming weeks are mostly airmen, missile interceptor teams, marines, seamen, technicians and intelligence officers.

The incoming American soldiers are officially categorized as participants in Austere Challenge 12, the biggest joint US-Israeli war game ever held.

The maneuver was originally designated Juniper Stallion 2012. However, the altered name plus the comment heard from the exercise's commander, US Third Air Force Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, during his visit two weeks ago, that the coming event is more a "deployment" than an "exercise," confirmed that Washington has expanded its mission. The joint force will now be in place ready for a decision to attack Iran's nuclear installations or any war emergency.

Our sources disclose that it was decided at the last minute in Washington and Jerusalem to announce the forthcoming Austere Challenge 12 on Thursday night, Jan. 5, ahead of the bulletin released by Tehran about another Iranian naval exercise at the Strait of Hormuz to take place in February, although its 10-day drill in the same arena only ended Monday, Jan. 2.

The early release was decided in consultations among US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and the two army chiefs, US Gen. Martin Dempsey and Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz. British Defense Minister Phillip Hammond, on a visit to Washington, was brought into the discussion. The handout circulated to US correspondents from Hammond's talks in the US capital affirmed that Britain stands ready to strike Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is closed. However, that phrase was omitted from the British minister's remarks at a news conference, following a last-minute request from Panetta, signifying the Obama administration's interest of keeping a low profile on plans for attacking Iran.

Tehran too is walking a taut tightrope. It is staging military's maneuvers every few days to assuring the Iranian people that its leaders are fully prepared to defend the country against an American or Israeli strike on its national nuclear program. By this stratagem, Iran's ground, sea and air forces are maintained constantly at top war readiness to thwart any surprise attack.

The joint US-Israeli drill will test multiple Israeli and US air defense systems against incoming missiles and rockets, according to the official communiqué.

debkafile's military sources add that they will also practice intercepting missiles and rockets coming in from Syria, Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

It will not be the first time a US aircraft carrier docks in Israel for joint operations with the Israeli Air Force. On June 9, 2010, the USS Truman dropped anchor opposite Israel to test a joint deployment against Iran and its allies. The carrier and its air and naval strike force then staged joint firing practices with the Israeli Air Force over the Negev in the South. Washington and Jerusalem are doing their utmost to present a perfectly synchronized military front against Iran: American officers are stationed at IDF command centers and Israeli officers posted at the US European Command-EUCOM. At the same time, debkafile's military sources disclose that full consensus has not been reached on every last particular of shared operation against Iran, should one go forward.

YHWH, We intercede in prayer for 9000 of our soldiers who are being deployed to the Strait of Hormuz, that Your eyes be the eyes of our servicemen and women and the IDF, believing Your victory has already been written, that Your plans to defeat the enemy are well underway. We pray for divine intervention in ALL decisions made administratively and militarily in the best interest of the nation of Israel. We pray that we lay down our biases and pray for our leaders like never before, believing that if they turn a deaf ear to the leading and guidance of the power of the Holy Spirit, that they will be judged and condemned by Yahushua Himself, King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Our fear of You is felt in every sense You created in us. Armor us up and prepare us for war. We are in battle with the enemy of Yahushua and call on every sister and brother in Your body to drop down to their knees in prayer for the safety of those who've been deployed in faith that Your deliverance is at the door! We know You have purposed the turning of the enemy's swords upon their brother and have heard Your truth spoken that those who pursue blood will be pursued for their own. We know You are coming for the lost sheep of Israel and we pray that revelations be released upon the body of Yahushua that identifies every believer as being adopted into the commonwealth of Israel. We pray for the lost to come in to Your sheepfold, the harvest is ripe for the greatest ingathering and awakening ever! Our praises inhabit You! No revived Roman empire can conquer You! No man or man's army can take Your chosen people's inheritance. May the voice of YHWH speaking to Your Spirit in us guide us, lead us and protect us! Move this mountain of intended bloodshed from Your people! We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we pray for the borders of Israel, we pray for the safety of our troops and the IDF, we pray for our brother Judah, for all twelve tribes of Israel, we pray for Your supernatural favor and for Your victory to prevail! In the name of Yahushua ha Mashiyach! Amen!

We will need a lot of prayer to defeat Iran, along with new leadership in this country.

obama is lucky we have such a good military always ready to make him look good even at their own peril because even though most i have talked to hate him they believe in their country and the oath they took. i do too as does most americans.

Last night I joined a friend and we got on our faces in prayer. Four hours and it wasn't enough to cover it all. I like Santorum, Infidel... I still believe Herman Cain would have made a great president, but the demonization, the demeaning and discrediting... there's really nothing new under the sun. The only peace I have is knowing YHWH still sits on the throne and Yahushua's the only Savior able to deliver us! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't lift my prayers for our military men and women fighting the only fight worth fighting for these days... it's the fight for good against evil. I wrote Brenda Grasso about Ms. Miliziano. We are so far past the perspective of "it's not my problem" that we're drowning in results of our inaction. Never again... Radical Islam is everybody's problem. I praise God He has the solution!

This brings closer to a war footing, also keep in mind the US moved forces into Jordan on the Syrian border, also the US and Israel holding a big defense drill.

When IDF Military Intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi accused Iran and Hizballah Wednesday, Jan. 11of directly helping Bashar Assad repress the uprising against him with arms, Turkey had just taken a stand against the Iranian corridor running weapons to Syria via its territory, debkafile's military sources report.
Earlier this week, Ankara reported halting five Iranian trucks loaded with weapons for Syria at the Killis Turkish-Syrian border crossing and impounding its freight. According to our intelligence sources, the Iranian convoy was not really stopped at Killis but at the eastern Turkish Dobubayazit border crossing with Iran, near Mount Ararat. This supply route for Syria had been going strong for months. Ankara's decision to suspend it has reduced its volume by 60 percent.

The Turks kept very quiet about the Dogubayazit route because disclosure would have exposed them as working two sides of the Syrian conflict – letting Tehran set up a clandestine arms route for helping the Assad regime crack down on protest, while publicly posing........

i trust turkey as much as i trust iran. they helped set up the flotilla disaster and have been getting really friendly with rising radical islam lately. if we win the white house we should ask for israel to be in nato and take turkey right out. good article vern.

Trust me, I much more trust Turkey! They are a Western nation...or were, prior to Clinton..the "blue dress" didn't help us...

turkey used to be a very good ally but in recent years they have turned toward radical islam and have been friendly with iran. turkish police lately has raided synagoges during prayer and made them show id's. i was exaggerating about portraying them the same as iran but they have been moving toward a islamic state and anti israel when they used to be allies. thanks for the link your right that clintons affair hurt our country a lot more than just a scandle.

Yep, I worked a bit with the Turks, back in the '80's. Good people!

They must react in a manner somewhat in line with the Provda presented to their population, just as we, internationally, are seen as represented by President Obama! Given a chance, Turkey will realign with the U.S.... But not with Obama!
