They have become the most powerful special interest group in Sacramento. As a result, California’s state and local employees are the best compensated in the country. Californians pay ever higher taxes for ever worse services. The Citizen Power Campaign aims to end union corruption by passing a voter initiative in 2010 that prohibits public employee unions from taking money from state worker paychecks for political purposes.
