Re immigration: Note that Art. I, Sec. 8, clause 4, grants to Congress the power "To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization". In Federalist No. 42, 4th para from end, James Madison discussed the undesirability of naturalizing aliens who had resdered themselves "obnoxious". Madison saw "serious" "consequences" to naturalizing obnoxious persons.

Note that Art. I, Sec. 3, clause 6 requires 2/3 of the Senators present to convict.

I could not agree with you more Publius Huldah. We need to take over both houses in 2010, and then impeach President, Vice President, and have our Speaker of the house become president. Once our speaker of the house becomes president then we need to clean out the court system.

Brigitte Gabriel said that with Islam, The Church IS the State, The State IS The Church - they are the same. So, Muslims are unlikely to embrace our Constitution.

You break my heart, Harvey. John Jay was right in all that he said. The poison of "multiculturalism" (that all cultures are equal except for ours, which is dog do-do) was introduced in order to destroy that unity of which Jay spoke. "Political correctness" demands that we embrace alien cultures. No one has the guts to stand up in public and say, "The Mexican culture is a corrupt & criminal culture, and unrestricted immigration by Mexicans will import that corrupt & criminal culture". No one has the guts to say, "The Muslim culture is an inferior culture by ALL objective measurements! Look at the barbarism! The cruel mutilation and subjection of women, the poverty, the complete absence of freedom, the brutal treatment of their own children, their stagnant stone-age culture, their intense hatred for Christians and Jews, etc. Yet, just yesterday, Charles Krauthammer on the FOX News show which comes on at 5:00 p.m. CT was blasting that Dutch politician who wants to restrict Muslim immigration , as "intolerant", ignorant, etc. Others on the panel agreed with Krauthammer! See? Political Correctness trumps Reality. And those on the panel were quite smug with moral superiority as they trumpeted the Lie that the Muslim culture is as good as any. Understand, Folks: I speak here of "culture", NOT of "race".

Please read the paragraph below and I would appreciate your thoughts.

The Federalist Papers # 2 that states ..

"With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence."

Re CW Jovaras' post of Judge Napolitano's speech at
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=7n2m-X7OIuY Napolitano has said some great things, but he also takes some dangerously WRONG positions. One such is his misreading of the "interstate commerce" clause: He says it gives Congress power to keep commerce "regular" between the States. And then presumeably, in Napolitano's view, Congress decides what does, and what does not, keep commerce between the States "regular".
Do you see that this constitutes the grant of an unlimited power to Congress to regulate commerce?
That is NOT what our Founders intended! The Federalist Papers expressly explain the purposes of the "interstate commerce" clause: It's laid out here: http://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/category/interstate-commerce-cla...
