Check out this article that the Winson Salem Journal in North Carolina is running. http://www2.journalnow.com/content/2009/nov/12/facing-choice-betwee... It's pretty obvious they are planning a story in favor of ObamaPelosiReid horrific health care!

I fear that a time for action and not words is the destiny for anyone that wants to keep any freedom in their lives , but what action will make them pay attention?

time to break out the tar and feathers!

Very concerned about S. 1147 PACT Act. Although the Bill will eliminate illegal tobacco smuggling, it will hurt other legitmate business. Namely Native American groups among many others. Already passed by the house it is now referred to the senate committe. The sponsor is Sen. Herbert Kohl (D-WI). Any thoughts or ideas?

Never mind my question about SB 2099 I finally found it. There really was a Senate Bill 2099, introduced by anti-gunner Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) but it was in the year 2000 (which was the reason I couldn't find it, I didn't go back far enough. And it didn't go anywhere.

What this bill would have done would have expanded the National Firearms Act of 1934 to encompass all common firearms to tax and register their sale with the same kind of bureaucracy that goes along with the transfer of machine guns, short-barreled shotguns, and silencers. The $50 tax and the fingerprinting were indeed part of the attempt, but nothing to do with your Form 1040.

But, to repeat, it's old, it's dead, it's not going anywhere, thanks to the vigilance of gun owners across the nation.

Update:
Later versions of email about SB-2099 add confusion by describing, in the same post, HR-45, submitted by Congressman Bobby Rush (IL1-D), the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009. This bill is very far reaching, so much so that is has no support from any of Bobby Rush's peers. Repeat, the bill has no support, no sponsors other than Rush. Congressman Rush submits a similar bill every session, and it never goes anywhere.

HR 45 (Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) is stuck in committee and has not been submitted to the floor, and has no co-sponsors. Making it a more or less a dead bill for the time being.

But just what the hell is SB 2099, that bill number does not exist (at least it didn't on Thomas (http://thomas.loc.gov) for the current session of congress. I even back dated the bill number and can't find it.

We need to contact our respective congressman and tell them to defeat HR 45 and SB 2099. Both are attempts to take our right to bear arms. And both are being flown under the radar through congress.
