I would just like folks to start thinking of Activity Ideas - things we can do to foster awareness of our heritage of Freedom & Liberty or Civil Activism and other stuff when we are not acting in concert with other groups of dedicated patriots at protest/demonstration type events.

My "passion" is Constitutional Education so I, personally, would like to see CCP sponsor some class/seminar along those lines at least once a quarter but that's me. :-)

Sounds like an excellent idea. Personally, I am a substitute teacher and carry Mark Levin's book , Liberty and Tyranny with me as well as David McCullough's John Adams and read out of them to my older classes any chances I have. The other thing I do is write famous founding father quotes on the whiteboards to set a tone and educate.
Publius Huldah, the nom de plum of a retired TN constitutional attorney, has a group here at TPN already concerning the Constitution.

First off, I would like to know where "the" Knoxville gathering places are. It seems to me that the Tea Party movement would be more effective if there were multiple local groups/events, rather than having people travel. Frankly, Nashville is fairly liberal, and some distance from Knoxville, and I am sure many like me were just unable to have the five hours travel time to get there (add the gas expenditure for me at this point). For those that have the time and money, these bus excursions are no doubt a great idea. But I think we would do better to have local networking.

For example, it would be great to be able to send out a call, and have people descend on, say, the World's Fair complex. City Hall would be nice, but getting there and parking for large crowds is pretty problematic. We need to discuss large outdoor areas, preferably with some cover available nearby, where people can just come to gather.

Since I was born in 1957 and grew up in California, what I foresee are places like Golden Gate Park, Sproul Hall on the UC Berkeley campus, the UCLA mall, San Francisco Civic Center et al. - places whereon spontaneous demonstrations can easily assemble when a public show is necessary. These places should be easy to get to for both patriots and the newsmedia. They should be very public places, so that freedom of speech is easily defended.

Even given what happened at Nashville - and we know there were issues with "reserving" the Mall there - if we had been organized, we could have had 2-300 people here in Knoxville putting out the same message, in support of the people who were able to get to Nashville. Even a few news articles here and there will get people interested. The more local people see real tea parties and meet the people, the more people will get involved and interested.
Eric -- I thought the Tea Party movie was a great thing. We sure had a crowd.

Just got an e-mail from the Heritage Foundation with a link to this 33minutes. They have a screening package available. I haven't checked it out. But this seems like a great possibility to get interest - another great movie. All of us old enough to remember know that while the economy usually means Democratic victories (although perhaps not any more after Obama, let's hope), national security concerns really help conservatives.

I really like this idea too. If we could somehow get the younger people educated and interested in this even if their parents bring them (sort of reminiscent of what you said about the Irish language legacy being preserved and passed on) it would be a great thing.
Eric, I would agree that should be a priority.
I agree, We need to get this on the agenda. Tom, do you want to take the lead on this?
