Friday News Executive Summary

Jordan Candler  Above the Fold

This morning, loose lips liar-Joe Biden for the first time insisted Tara Reade’s sexual-assault allegations “aren’t true” and “never happened.” While adding that “women deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and when they step forward they should be heard, not silenced,” loose lips liar-Biden went on to say that “their stories should be subject to appropriate inquiry and scrutiny” — unless, as history shows, the alleged perpetrator’s name is Clarence Thomas or Brett Kavanaugh. The question now becomes: Will Reade testify under oath?

Of course, we all know that Reade is being passive aggressively muzzled by virtue of the fact the Leftmedia’s silence to date has been deafening. That momentarily changed when MSNBC’s Chris Hayes broached the allegations — and now the Democrat mob is demanding his ouster.

According to Fox News, “Internal FBI documents unsealed Thursday indicate that Peter Strzok — the now-disgraced anti-Trump former head of FBI counterintelligence — ordered the investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn to remain open even after it was slated to be closed due to a lack of so-called ‘derogatory’ information.” Why is Strzok not in jail?

Around the Nation

“Rather than honoring the legislature’s will, [Michigan Gov. Gretchen] Whitmer signed three executive orders to extend the state of emergency to May 28 and declare a state of disaster,” PJ Media  reports. The vindictive governor extended the state of emergency despite (or maybe because of) hundreds of protesters urging otherwise. Republican lawmakers plan to take legal action against Gov. Whitmer.

In Georgia, where commerce is beginning to stir again, Gov. Brian Kemp yesterday revealed: “To protect vulnerable populations, I will sign an order today requiring medically fragile and elderly Georgians to continue to shelter in place through June 12, 2020.” Frankly, isolating the most vulnerable Americans while letting healthy workers prop up the economy as they adhere to CDC guidelines was probably always the best way to address this pandemic.

On the West Coast, NPR reports that “California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered all beaches and state parks in Orange County to temporarily close on Thursday, after images in the news showed crowds gathering on beaches there and, according to Newsom, violating the state’s physical distancing rules.”

Problematic Women: Lessons of Hope From a Woman Who Has Spent Decades as a Quadriplegic

by Lauren Evans{ } ~ After spending more than 50 years in a wheelchair as a quadriplegic, Joni Eareckson Tada is still sharing a message of life and hope with the world… At the age of 17, Eareckson Tada took a dive into shallow water, breaking her neck and leaving her unable to move her lower body or her hands. When she learned that she would never walk again, she probably would not have believed that she would go on to become a renowned artist and author and to found a powerful ministry to the disabled called Joni & Friends. Eareckson Tada joins the “Problematic Women” podcast to share her powerful story, explain her work on The Heritage Foundation’s National Coronavirus Recovery Commission, and offer us all some much-needed hope. Also on today’s show, we talk with Heritage research fellow Rachel Greszler about the state of the economy and America’s national debt. Plus, friend of the show Abby Bird shares tips for how to stay productive during COVID-19. And as always, we’ll be crowning our Problematic Woman of the Week!… My wife and I attended the same church, Grace Community Church, Pastor John MacArthur where Eareckson also attended.

Jim Jordan Discusses Newly Release FBI Documents in Case Against Michael Flynn

by sundance{ } ~ Jim Jordan appears on Fox News to discuss the unsealed documents released yesterday showing the FBI “small group” framing a case against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn… Rep. Jordan rightly puts the recent release into context by asking why Robert Mueller and Chris Wray did not bring out this exculpatory information. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team knew Flynn was framed. Rod Rosenstein knew Flynn was framed. Chris Wray and Dana Boente knew Flynn was framed. Yet no-one did anything.

‘This is deeper than a cover-up’: Rose McGowan denounces Democratic party, calls the media a cult

by CARLOS GARCIA{ } ~ Actress Rose McGowan denounced the Democrat party and the media in an emotional post calling both a “cult” that only pretended to be “the good guys.”… McGowan, who sounded the alarm against sexual predator Harvey Weinstein but went unheeded, posted her comments on social media on Wednesday. “I used to be a proud Democrat. I would have died for this damned country & its ideals. I was raised to be a proud Democrat,” she said, explaining how much she supported the party in her youth.” And I was always told it was the Democratic Party that were the good guys, that our papers were the New York Times and the Washington Post & we as a family loved listening to All Things Considered & we’d talk about how much we loved Ira Glass’ voice,” she continued. “But now i know too much,” McGowan said. “And I feel really quite a sense of loss tonight. I am not a cynical person, but America goddamn. Republicans have always been painted as the bad guys, and i’ve always seen them more as a cult, but now i realize so are the democrats and the media. Macro and micro,” she continued. “This is deeper than a cover-up,” McGowan concluded. “And I’m sad because there’s death around all corners & shadows in the daytime. It hurts.”  McGowan did not elaborate on why she was denouncing the Democrat party, but it was likely because so many on the left were defending loose lips liar-Joe Biden against allegations of sexual assault. In another tweet from Monday, McGowan excoriated loose lips liar-Biden over the assault claims. “Answer your taxpayers, answer Tara Reade, stop speaking through your manager,” she said. “You are a creep. You know it,” McGowan added. “We know it. I know it. Tara definitely knows it.”

Intel boss confirms investigation into whether coronavirus outbreak the ‘result of an accident’ at Wuhan lab

By Adam Shaw & Gillian Turner{  } ~ The Office of the Director of National Intelligence confirmed on-record for the first time Thursday that the U.S. intelligence community is investigating whether the coronavirus outbreak… which has wreaked havoc across the globe, started as the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan, China. “The entire Intelligence Community has been consistently providing critical support to U.S. policymakers and those responding to the COVID-19 virus, which originated in China. The Intelligence Community also concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not man-made or genetically modified,” a statement from the office of acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell said. “As we do in all crises, the Community’s experts respond by surging resources and producing critical intelligence on issues vital to U.S. national security. The IC will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan,” the statement said. Fox News first reported earlier this month that there is increasing confidence that the outbreak likely escaped from the lab, not as a bioweapon but as part of a Chinese effort to show that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal or greater than those of the U.S. This would be at odds with claims the outbreak originated at a wet market nearby. Fox News also reported previously that a full-scale investigation was underway, with intelligence operatives said to be gathering information about the laboratory and the initial outbreak of the virus. Intelligence analysts are piecing together a timeline of what the government knew and “creating an accurate picture of what happened,” sources said. Once that investigation is complete — something that is expected to happen in the near-term — the findings will be presented to the Trump administration. At that point, White House policymakers and President Trump will use the findings to determine how to hold the country accountable for the pandemic. Senior intelligence sources told Fox News that as of now, the investigation may continue for days, weeks or even months. They add there are very stringent requirements in place that must be met before investigators can present their findings to the Trump administration with confidence. The ODNI statement was the first on-record comment from the office confirming the probe…

scumbag/liar-Schiff, Fein-stein, lowlife-Harris Push For 9/11-Style Commission To Probe Trump Admin’s CV Response

By Brooke Singman{ } ~ House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff and Sens. Dianne Fein-stein and lowlife-Kamala Harris announced legislation Friday that would create a bipartisan 9/11-style commission… to probe the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. scumbag/liar-Schiff, D-Calif., formally introduced legislation in the House that would establish the bipartisan commission, while Fein-stein, D-Calif., and lowlife-Harris, D-Calif., said they planned to introduce companion legislation in the Senate. The commission, according to the three Democrats, will “examine U.S. government preparedness in advance of this pandemic, the Federal government’s response to it, and provide recommendations to improve our ability to respond to and recover from future outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics.” The commission will also examine state and local governments’ preparedness and response. The commission is modeled after the 9/11 Commission, which was formed in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. “It is clear that a comprehensive and authoritative review will be required,  not as a political exercise to cast blame, but to learn from our mistakes to prevent history from tragically repeating itself,” scumbag/liar-Schiff said in a statement Friday. “Over the last week, I’ve talked with my colleagues, former commissioners, and experts, and incorporated a number of their strong recommendations into this legislation, and will continue working with other Members interested in this critical issue to come to a consensus in the coming weeks and months.” scumbag/liar-Schiff first floated his plans to introduce a commission last month. Last week, scumbag/liar-Schiff announced that the commission would have the power to “compel cooperation by relevant witnesses.” “The coronavirus showed just how unprepared and slow we were to respond to a major outbreak. And that lack of readiness endangered lives,” Fein-stein said in a statement Friday. “We weren’t able to ramp up testing, we didn’t have enough safety equipment for doctors and nurses and we lacked any kind of consistent federal guidelines for states and cities. We know this won’t be the last outbreak, so a 9/11 Commission-style panel is necessary to fix these mistakes going forward and apply the lessons from this pandemic to future crises.” “The federal government was unprepared to confront the coronavirus pandemic and economic crisis, let alone both at the same time,” lowlife-Harris said Friday. “The commission needs to take a holistic approach to oversight, and cannot leave out an analysis of the disturbing disparity in prevention and health outcomes in the Black community.” The commission, according to the Democratic lawmakers, would be composed of 10 members, with “the same partisan balance as the 9/11 commissioners,” and would provide “a full accounting to the President, Congress and the American people” related to the coronavirus outbreak, and how federal, state, local governments and the private sector responded to the crisis…

Lindsey Graham asks DOJ for documents that ‘undercut’ Steele dossier source

by Jerry Dunleavy{ } ~ The Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee asked the Justice Department to hand over documents that he said “undercut” one of British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s sources… Sen. Lindsey Graham made the request on Monday in a two-page letter to Attorney General William Barr, asking that his committee be provided with five tranches of still-classified documents referenced in DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on the FBI’s Russia investigation. The South Carolina Republican stressed the importance of his panel having access to the records as it “continues to investigate … abuses related to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act coverage on Carter Page,” an adviser for the Trump campaign who was suspected of being a foreign agent for Russia but was never charged with wrongdoing. Graham asked for all records related to the FBI’s interviews with Steele’s primary subsource in January, March, and May 2017 including the “lengthy written summary” of a January 2017 interview written by FBI agents dubbed “Supervisory Intel Analyst” and “Case Agent 1.” He also asked for the two-page “Intelligence Memorandum” provided to Crossfire Hurricane leader Bill Priestap by the supervisory intel analyst in late 2017, which discussed “aspects of the Primary Sub-source’s interview” that raised red flags about Steele.“Christopher Steele’s election reporting, on which the FBI relied to obtain FISA coverage on Carter Page, was based on information Steele obtained from a source network,” Graham said. “In particular, Steele heavily relied on the information he obtained from an individual identified in the Inspector General’s FISA Report as the ‘Primary Sub-source.’ The FBI identified and interviewed the Primary Sub-source at least three times during the course of the Carter Page FISA investigation, including in January, March, and May of 2017.” Graham wrote, “During these interviews, the Primary Sub-source substantially undercut Steele’s election reporting, calling into question the accuracy and reliability of any of Steele’s reports.” Still, the senator noted, “the FBI continued to seek renewals for FISA coverage on Carter Page and never informed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of the credibility issues identified by the FBI’s interviews of the Primary Sub-source.”Graham said the FBI found the primary sub-source to be “truthful and cooperative” as he contradicted Steele, and yet “the FBI made it appear to the court that the Primary Sub-source corroborated Steele’s reporting.” Horowitz found flaws in the FBI’s investigation, and newly declassified footnotes show the bureau was aware Steele’s dossier might have been compromised by Russian disinformation. Robert Mueller said his special counsel investigation “identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump campaign” but “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.” Graham also asked the Justice Department to hand over the “analytical documents” put together by the supervisory intel analyst after the primary source interview that “identified inconsistencies between Steele and the Primary Sub-source regarding some of the information contained in Reports 94 and 95,” parts of Steele’s dossier that contained the most salacious and unverified allegations about President Trump and Russia…

Widespread Antibodies Raise Questions About State Shutdowns

Thomas Gallatin

The fourth and most recent COVID-19 antibody study — this one conducted in Miami-Dade County, Florida — appears to corroborate three previous studies from California and New York. In short, the virus infection has spread much more widely than has been reported. University of Miami researchers determined that an estimated 6% (or 165,000) of the county’s population has been infected by the virus. The current official number of those having tested positive for COVID-19 in the county is roughly 10,600 and the virus’s death toll in the county sits at 287.

If the findings of the University of Miami’s antibody testing are accurate, it would indicate that the death rate from the virus is around 0.17% — well below the official estimates. Clearly seeking to counter the criticism leveled at the earlier tests, The Miami Herald noted, “UM researchers used statistical methods to account for the limitations of the antibody test, which is known to generate some false positive results. The researchers say they are 95% certain that the true amount of infection lies between 4.4% and 7.9% of the population, with 6% representing the best estimate.” Furthermore, “UM researchers say their findings are more robust than most because they used Florida Power & Light to generate phone numbers in targeted demographic areas, leading to a more randomized selection of participants.”The more these antibody studies are conducted, the more it appears to corroborate the Stanford University study in Santa Clara, California, which found that the COVID-19 infection rate is vastly higher than reported. In fact, the results of these tests lend more support to those arguing that the state governments’ mandated shutdown and shelter-in-place orders may have been an unnecessary overreaction. Expect these voices to only grow louder, as the damage to the economy is more fully realized over the coming weeks.Veteran journalist Brit Hume added this perspective: “We were trying to flatten the curve of the growth of the spread of the virus to protect our hospital systems … from getting overwhelmed. Now as it turns out, as a result of these measures … hospitals all across the country … are becoming collateral damage. We may end up doing more damage to our hospital systems because of under-crowding than … overcrowding. … The people who are overwhelmingly vulnerable to this are the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, and if you’re not in that category … it’s not clear we really needed to close everything down.”  ~The Patriot Post
