She also sold 20,000 copies of the books to Kaiser Permanente for $114,000 from 2015 to 2018, and 10,000 copies to Associated Black Charities for nearly $80,000 from 2011 and 2016.” (National Review)

JUDICIAL PROGRESS: “President Trump hit another milestone in his efforts to reshape the federal judiciary, with the Senate clearing his 100th judicial nominee Thursday. The president and Republican-controlled Senate have made judicial nominations a top priority, and the confirmation of Rodolfo Ruiz to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida brought the number of Trump’s judicial appointments into triple digits. In addition to confirming Ruiz, the Senate is also set to clear two more nominees to federal district courts in Puerto Rico and Pennsylvania. If those two nominations win approval, Trump will have tapped 102 judges to the federal bench.” (Washington Examiner)

PULOSI IMPLIES BARR IS A CRIMINAL: Yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pulosi inveighed, “What is deadly serious … is the attorney general of the United States of America is not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States. That’s a crime.” But even CNN isn’t buying it. (also is the rest of the country)

TRUMP SAFEGUARDS RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: “President Donald Trump spoke out on religious freedom Thursday, as he vowed to protect conscience rights and to combat anti-Semitism. ‘Just today, we finalized new protections of conscience rights for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, teachers, students, and faith-based charities,’ Trump said at a White House Rose Garden event with faith leaders from across the country on hand for the National Day of Prayer. … The Department of Health and Human Services’ final rule protects both employers and employees. The rule protects providers, individuals, and other health care entities from having to provide, participate in, pay for, pay for coverage of, or refer for, services such as abortion, sterilization, or assisted suicide to which they might have religious objections.” (The Daily Signal)

UN AMBASSADOR POST GETS A NOMINEE: “President Donald Trump has officially nominated Kelly Knight Craft as the new United States ambassador to the United Nations. FACEBOOK CENSORS FREE SPEECH: According to the Washington Examiner, “Facebook announced on Thursday they permanently banned several controversial figures from their site for being ‘dangerous’… The people banned from the site include: Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, InfoWars host Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, Paul Nehlen, and Paul Joseph Watson.” Matt Walsh observes, “The fact that Facebook banned these high profile accounts all at once just proves that this is not a fair and objective enforcement of the rules. … If Facebook wanted to ban Alex Jones for the Sandy Hook conspiracy stuff (which was truly insane and morally debased), why didn’t they do it 5 years ago?”

MOORE BAILS: “A week after Herman Cain withdrew his name from consideration from the Federal Reserve board, Stephen Moore has done the same. His announcement comes amidst a brewing storm over his past comments on gender roles. … There’s no ill will on the side of the president either. Trump praised Moore’s character and wished him well.” (Townhall)

loose lips-BIDEN SCOFFS AT CHINA: “Former Vice President loose lips-Joe Biden expressed his lack of concern over China as a global competitor to the U.S. at a rally on Wednesday,” Fox News reports, “prompting a grim response from Sen. rino-Mitt Romney, R-Utah. … ‘This will not age well,’ rino-Romney predicted.” As pointed out by Erick Erickson, “Perhaps he said something so ludicrous to distract from his own Russia scandal: His son sat on the board of a Ukrainian company with ties to the Russians and only resigned once his dad decided to run for President. Some allege that loose lips-Biden previously helped pressure Ukraine into firing a prosecutor looking into that company.”

FBI’S CURIOUS RUSSIA-PROBE TACTICS: Fox News reports: “An informant working for U.S. intelligence posed as a Cambridge University research assistant in September 2016 to try to probe George Papadopoulos, then a Trump foreign policy adviser, on the campaign’s possible ties to Russia, according to a new report. And, Papadopoulos told Fox News on Thursday, the informant tried to ‘seduce’ him as part of the ‘bizarre’ episode. … The FBI sent a woman using the alias Azra Turk to meet Papadopoulos at a London bar, where she asked, conspicuously and directly, whether the Trump team was working with Russia.” On a related note, The Hill’s John Solomon reveals that “the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington says a Democratic National Committee (DNC) insider during the 2016 election solicited dirt on Donald Trump’s campaign chairman and even tried to enlist the country’s president to help.” Collusion?

NY Times Comes to the Defenseof the Muslim Brotherhood

by The New York Times came to the defense of the Muslim Brotherhood in the wake of the news that the Trump Administration… was planning to designate the group as a terrorist organization. In a breathtakingly disingenuous article, the Times omits fact after fact in its claim the Brotherhood is a “missionary” group that eschewed violence for decades. Clarion Project documents the decades of violent activities by the Brotherhood, both inside and outside Egypt where it originated and in America, where one of its groups was convicted in the largest terror-financing case in U.S. history. On July 8, 2013, while scumbag/liar-nObama was president, then White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, “We also condemn the explicit calls to violence made by the Muslim Brotherhood.” Yet 2014, the scumbag/liar-nObama administration rejected a request to designate the organization as a terrorist group, claiming the group was non-violent. “We have not seen credible evidence that the Muslim Brotherhood has renounced its decades-long commitment to non-violence,” the White House said. Israeli Air Force Strikes Gaza in Response to Incendiary Ballonns, Rockets

by Hagay Hacohen

{ } ~ The Israeli Air Force carried out a series of strikes north of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night, according to the IDF… The strikes were in response to hundreds of incendiary balloons that Hamas launched at Israel on Wednesday. In retaliation, two rockets were launched at Israel, according to the IDF. There were no injuries are damages, the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council reported. In a statement to the press, the IDF spokesperson said that “Hamas bears full responsibility for all that is taking place in the Gaza Strip, as well as all things coming out of it.” The balloons caused fires in the Eshkol region south of the country. Earlier this week, Israel reduced the fishing zone allocated to the fishermen of Gaza after an Islamic Jihad rocket landed in southern Israel, causing no casualties. Israel is marking Holocaust Memorial Day on Thursday. Commemoration events began Wednesday evening, including the country’s official ceremony. At that event, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel must learn from the past and “will not extend its neck for slaughter.”

‘Who’s terrified?’ Matt Gaetz one-ups scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler after his mic is cut during contentious hearing

by Vivek Saxena

{ } ~ During what was supposed to have been Attorney General Bill Barr’s hearing Thursday in front of the House Judiciary Committee… committee chair scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler cut off Florida congressman Matt Gaetz and prevented him from speaking. Why? Because he was “terrified,” or so Gaetz claims. He was allegedly terrified of being exposed for his ogreish and, some would even say, radical ways. The altercation concerned Barr’s decision to skip the hearing. Though his testimony was originally scheduled to involve each member of the House Judiciary Committee spending roughly five minutes peppering him with questions, over the weekend scumbag liar-Nadler trotted out a hash of extreme demands. First, he demanded that Barr submit to an additional hour of public questioning wherein each party’s counsel would be permitted 30 minutes to ask questions. Then he demanded that Barr also sit for a closed hearing to talk about the redacted portions of special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s report. Barr pulled out of the hearing shortly thereafter. But instead of negotiating with the AG over the format of the hearing, scumbag liar-Nadler doubled down and then accused Barr, the most powerful law enforcement officer in the country, of being “terrified of having to face a skilled attorney,” even though 18 out of 24 Dems who hold law degrees were opting to let their staffers grill bar, instead of themselves…

Trump Is Asking for Emergency Border Funds. Is Congress Still AWOL?

by James Carafano

{ } ~ Reach back into the deep recesses of ancient history—a few months ago, when the president shut down the government over omnibus spending because the Congress wouldn’t provide funding for the border wall… At the time, the president’s opposition in Congress refused to budge because they claimed there was no crisis. Now, because nothing was done, the U.S. faces record-high numbers of illegal border crossers. The numbers are so overwhelming that the Department of Homeland Security can’t detain or house them all. So the president has, once again, asked for emergency funds to help deal with the mess at the border. Make no mistake, the president’s request is a test for Congress: Will it admit there is a crisis now? The administration has asked for $4.5 billion. Trump made it easy for the opposition. He didn’t ask for a cent of wall funding. He asked for $3.3 billion for humanitarian assistance, which is needed to deal with the tsumani of asylum requests created by the loopholes that Congress refuses to close. He’s also asked for another $2.8 billion for additional bed space, and another $1 billion-plus for border operations. So here’s what’s interesting. The curmudgeons in Congress face a dilemma: They can’t reject Trump’s request by claiming it will fund the wall, because it won’t. On the other hand, if they write the Oval Office an emergency check for the border, they are as much as admitting that there really is a crisis…

Dem attacks on Barr come down to three-week gap

by Byron York

{ } ~ Why are so many Democrats and so many of their allies in the press so angry at Attorney General William Barr? What explains the intensity of their feelings?… Of course they still believe in collusion, even though special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller could not establish that a Trump-Russia conspiracy took place and never charged anyone in President Trump’s orbit, or any American for that matter, with taking part in such a scheme. Of course they believe the president obstructed justice, even though dirty cop-Mueller did not establish that, either. Those are big issues that might ultimately form the basis of a Democratic move to impeach the president. But the immediate rage of some Democrats appears based on something much smaller: the process Barr devised for handling the release of the dirty cop-Mueller report. dirty cop-Mueller sent his report to the Justice Department on March 22. There was, of course, red alert-level media coverage. While not offering to make the entire report public right away, Barr promised to release something soon. On March 24, he sent a four-page letter to Congress that, in his words, “summarized the principal conclusions” of the report. Twenty-five days later, on April 18, Barr released the entire dirty cop-Mueller report, with redactions he had outlined earlier. Those 25 days, the “three-week gap” in the words of MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, are at the heart of Democratic anger. Why were those three weeks so important? Because, whatever Barr’s motive, they allowed the attorney general to shape public opinion on dirty cop-Mueller’s findings before Democrats had a chance to spin the report their way. Barr, Democrats said, should have at least released the executive summaries of Volume I and Volume II of dirty cop-Mueller’s report, which detailed the collusion and obstruction questions, respectively…

Evangelical Support for Trump Is Pragmatism, Not Blind Worship

Louis DeBroux: In the final weeks prior to the 2016 elections, Democrats and their mainstream media mouthpieces were giddy at the predicted landslide election by Democrat scumbag/’liar-Hillary Clinton over Republican Donald Trump.

Yet a constant source of irritation for them was their inability to figure out the unshakeable support Trump garnered from the unlikeliest place — Evangelical voters.

On paper, Trump should have been anathema to Christian Evangelicals. He’s a man whose moral failings are both extensive and widely publicized: multiple divorces, an adulterous affair with a porn star, and a payoff to a Playboy model to keep another affair quiet — and both affairs happened after his third wife had just birthed their son. Moreover, he’s crude, brash, and once said he doesn’t ask for God’s forgiveness. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right,” he said in 2015. “I don’t bring God into that picture.” That’s a lot of things, but it’s not Christianity.

And yet Trump’s Evangelical support has not wavered. Folks who are baffled by this have a fundamental misunderstanding of how Evangelicals (and Trump supporters generally) actually view him.

Democrat 2020 presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg insists, “God doesn’t have a political party,” and he’s made other statements claiming his homosexuality and pro-abortion stance are compatible with his Christian faith. The Reverend Franklin Graham responded in a series of tweets stating, in part, “Mayor Buttigieg says he’s a gay Christian. As a Christian I believe the Bible which defines homosexuality as sin, something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized. The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman — not two men, not two women.” Reverend Graham is exactly right.

But in response to Graham’s tweets, National Review columnist and Never Trumper David French accused Graham of selling out his Christian faith for political expediency as an early and steadfast Trump supporter.

Said French, “The proper Evangelical position toward any president is not hard to articulate, though it is exceedingly difficult to hold to, especially in polarized times when one party seems set on limiting religious liberty and zealously defending abortion: We should pray for presidents, critique them when they’re wrong, praise them when they’re right, and never, ever impose partisan double standards.”

On the surface, French is right. But his comments reflect that fundamental misunderstanding of the support for President Trump by Evangelicals and the broader Republican base.

No Evangelical or conservative Republican has or would argue that we should praise Trump for his moral failings, or argue that these sinful acts are “no big deal.” Just the opposite.

But what Evangelicals and rank-and-file conservatives see in Trump is not an ideological purist, or a faith leader; they don’t look to him as a moral icon, or a political philosopher. They look to him as a happy, indefatigable warrior defending the Christian faith and conservative values, as counter intuitive as that might seem.

rino-Mitt Romney was arguably the most personally moral, scandal-free Republican candidate in decades. George W. Bush was a born-again Christian. But both were gentlemanly fighters, adhering to the Marquis of Queensbury rules while their progressive Democrat opponents slashed and gutted them in a political knife fight. Bush saw his presidency weakened because he refused to really fight back against accusations of racism, bigotry, and lack of compassion. Romney was taken down by a brazenly dishonest Barack scumbag/liar-nObama long before he even had a chance to step foot in the Oval Office.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is a fighter. He is a street brawler who matches blow for blow, and then some. He responds to every attack. He epitomizes the Sean Connery line in “The Untouchables” about how to take down Chicago gangster Al Capone: “He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue!”

The Christian faith and conservative values have been under relentless assault for years, and the choirboys that Republicans keep running for office don’t seem up to the task of defending them, offering platitudes and lip service as the lives of Christians are destroyed under attacks from the Rainbow Mafia and left-wing judges.

But Trump is up to the task. As our Brian Mark Weber noted last year, “For decades, Republicans at all levels of government gave campaign lip service to the hopes of Christians around the country only to turn their backs on those same voters once in office. Why, then, continue to elect these well-meaning but mild-mannered choirboys? Instead, why not throw in behind a serial philanderer who’s delivering the strongest pro-life message in our history and seating a conservative Supreme Court that will defend religious liberty for the next generation?”

Donald Trump may not be the best person to articulate Christian doctrine, but he has fought valiantly to defend religious freedom and Judeo-Christian values in the public square. His administration, much to the dismay of anti-Christian leftists, is stocked with faithful Christians, from Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo down to junior aides. He has been the most actively pro-life president in decades and arguably the most pro-Israel president ever. He has put two solid conservative, pro-life justices on the Supreme Court, partially defunded Planned Parenthood, and ended IRS harassment of churches.

No, Christians are not hypocrites for supporting Trump over the horrible scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. Nor are they the dimwitted lemmings the press paints them out to be. In fact, their support of Trump has turned out to be far more politically astute than anyone could have suspected. While there is only one Savior, which is Jesus Christ, in Donald Trump they see their political David, slaying their anti-Christian Goliaths.

And so long as Trump continues to fight for them, their support for him will remain unshakeable. ~The Patriot Post
