Donald Trump is accusing a former campaign aide of breaching a confidentiality agreement and seeking $10 million, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Former senior campaign consultant Sam Nunberg, who was fired from the Trump campaign last year, is accused of leaking confidential information to reporters. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee is seeking $10 million in damages, claiming Nunberg violated a nondisclosure agreement.

Nunberg said in court papers that Trump accused him of being a source in a May New York Post story about a public quarrel between former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and spokeswoman Hope Hicks, according to the AP.
Nunberg said he was not the source of the article. He referred to the fight in court papers as being part of an “apparent affair.”

He also said in court filings Trump tried to “bully” him to be quiet after he decided to back Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

“Mr. Trump’s actions in starting a $10 million arbitration, seeking to silence Mr. Nunberg and have the proceedings sealed, are a cautionary tale of what the American people face if Mr. Trump is elected president,” said Andrew Miltenberg, Nunberg’s attorney.

Nunberg filed the court documents to block private arbitration proceedings that Trump initiated in May.

In a Wednesday statement, a Trump lawyer said Nunberg was taking the issue public for attention.

“With regard to Mr. Nunberg, this agreement specifically calls for arbitration, and Mr. Nunberg is simply looking for free publicity using categorically false claims,” Trump counsel Alan Garten said.

Garten said when nondisclosure agreements are violated, Trump will “enforce them to the full extent of the law.”
