Unemployed? Help Wanted! Apply Here!

This is an image taken from a very unscientific poll that is currently appearing on Yahoo.

What does this tell us?  It tells us that we don't know what the truth is!

Officially, the Mississippi unemployment rate is about 10.6%.  Although, I can tell you, I am 100% unemployed. Maybe I should march on D.C.  I'll be the 100%!  I'll be Occupy The Truth.

28% is a far cry from 10.6%!  They say that the national rate came down this month, but just like last year, and the year before, they failed to include the fact that this happens every year before Christmas.

So, who is telling the truth?  Does it even matter?

Unemployment figures are just the tip of the iceberg of all that this administration is hiding from the public.  There's so much deceit there!  What does it even matter if I have a job and my government is lying to me about the nature of the society in which I live?

It's not just the President!  Congress is hiding bills on immigration, among other things.  The Supreme Court is being less than honest about the precedents made in its own rulings. SCOTUS justices that by all rights should be recused are sitting on the cases that will decide the very nature of this country for the next hundred years.

Does it even matter what the unemployment rate really is?

What does matter is that we have a government we can trust!  Without that, we are without hope.

Pick a presidential candidate from the litter. Pick the one that you trust not only to do an acceptable job, but also the one that you believe when he or she speaks to you. Look at the list of names. By now, you should know most of them.

Be honest!  Include Barack Obama in the list.  Include anyone you want!  Rate them all in order of trustworthiness. Make your decision based solely on this comparison.  Leave out ideology, religion, all of that...include only honesty.

Then ask yourself this: Would I be better off with them or without them?

I was told by my father, who lived through the past depression, that they had a saying...as FDR began touting the success of his attempts at bringing down the unemployment rate: "Unemployment is only xy percent? Feels like 100% to me!"

Indeed, if unemployment were reported today as it were then, we'd be well north of 15%!

Perhaps I'll write an article on the shell game being played today with the numbers....It might be fun.

You're gonna need a lot of shells!

I'm workin' on it....as I get the time.

OK, Jeff.

As you asked, I've put out an article on the shell game, as promised.

It's entitled  "The great unemployment news!"

Comments?

My folks grew up on farms during the Depression and grew most of their own food, hunted wild game and raised farm animals for food, they sewed their own clothes and walked or rode horses to town, school and church.  People helped each other out.  My Granddad used to talk about it and say "we didn't work for wages but everybody worked."  My grandpa hitch-hiked from the Colorado Kansas border across Kansas and part of Missouri to work on a WPA project one winter to earn money for seed to plant in the Spring.

You will have to look long and hard for the type of people that lived during the depression.  Many Americans have been raised in an entitlement society.  Some of the things our grandparents and parents did to survive the depression many would not consider or even know how to accomplish today.  Thanks to the welfare programs implemented people have been reduced to the plantation society that existed prior to the Civil War.  Masser provided you with a house, clothing, and food.  The only difference was that you worked on the plantation.  Now people want the house, clothes and food, but do not want to work for it.

Brenda

Not many slaves lived in houses, they lived in the barns with the animals.  Some Government provided housing isn't much better than barns and the more people become entitled, the worse the Government housing will get.

When a work horse got old and sick, Masser took it to the edge of the field and shot it, and some Massers did the same with slaves.  Obama wants to accomplish the same thing by rationing Government Provided Health Care.

Ever been to a plantation?  Those little one room shacks  were slave quarters.  Not everyone had a house and some were kept in slave towers erected in the fields for the workers.  Yes, there were  horrible things done to salves.

As far government provided housing, check out those more closely.  Much of the slum appearance is due to the occupant, not the housing.  I have seen new government become a trash heap in less than five years.

It is true that today people have no respect or pride in things that are given to them.

I see a little confusion in the Democrat messaging - President Obama was an emancipating Abraham Lincoln first, then he was a tough Ronald Reagan, then he was new deal FDR, and now he’s Nationalistic Teddy Rosevelt...who does he want us to think he is?

Let's do this scientifically!

One a scale of one to ten we have the following categories (10 being the best possible score):

1 Anarchist

2 Communist

3 Socialist

4 Liberal

5 Progressive

6 Democrat

7 Moderate

8 Republican

9 Conservative

10 Tea Party

Barack Obama references one number 9, one number 8, one number 6, and one number 4. He gives himself an average score of 8.75.

Personally, I'd give him a 3 on the economy, a 1 on law enforcement, a 4 on social issues, and a 5 on defense. I give him an average of 3.33 (somewhere between a liberal and a socialist) (I'd say he's the Grand Inquisitor).

For fun let's look at Newt on those same points of interest!

Economy = 9

Law Enforcement = 10

Social Issues = 8

Defense = 10

Newt gets a 9.25!  Just a little Left of Superman!

Good one. Genius.

We're not gonna have any personal attacks here!

Last warning!
