Today, conservative bloggers across the nation are not blogging. Conservative bloggers are showing solidarity with Aaron Walker and with other conservative bloggers who have been the targets of swatting and other tactics by the supporters of convicted bomber Brett Kimberlin, by not blogging in protest.
So why are we here today?
All bloggers have good cause to be concerned. People like Kimberlin’s supporters do not want the truth out there. Not only do they not want the truth, they want to silence those who reveal the truth.
Bloggers including Patrick Frey and Erick Erickson have been swatted. Swatting if you are not familiar with the term, it means someone usually using a voice over internet (VIOP) system to fake a 911 call. The caller says something like, “I just shot and killed my wife. I’m at. (fill in the address).” The cops show up with guns drawn, expecting to possibly face an armed gunman. To say the situation is dangerous is an understatement and has the potential to end up with someone dead is very high.
Today, many conservative bloggers are not blogging and instead urging their followers to go to Congress and demand our Senators and Representatives demand that the Attorney General do something about the attacks on conservative bloggers.
I met with Congressman Jeff Landry yesterday. I have mentioned him a number of times in my blogs. He is a great congressman and if all the Republicans were like him, we would be sweeping the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil into the dustbin of history.
He is contacting the Attorney General to demand something be done. Another Tea Party Congressman, Kenny Marchant from Texas has sent a letter to the Attorney General, as has Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss.
We thought about joining the day of silence in protest of the attacks on conservative blogging and have decided not to.
We stand 100% with the bloggers who have been attacked.
There are many ways of supporting those who have been attacked and we are engaged in helping the victims of attacks on blogging on several fronts.
If we silence this blog, even voluntarily and temporarily, the supporters of Brett Kimberlin win.
Leading bloggers, such as the famous Ace of Spades, want to go silent to show the world what those attackers want.
We understand that.
That is why we cannot go black.
That is why we cannot go silent.
If we yield, even an inch, it will encourage those, not just Kimberlin’s supporters, who want conservatives and conservative bloggers silenced.
We must remember what the end game here is. Those who want to silence conservative bloggers ultimately want to destroy freedom and liberty.
In the darkest days of World War II, Winston Churchill gave a speech. He said, “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.” This is what we in the conservative movement have. This is what we offer.
To paraphrase another great Churchill quote, we shall go on to the end. We shall fight online, we shall fight in the media and the public venues, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in numbers, we shall defend our freedom, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight in the ballot boxes, we shall fight in the courtrooms, and we shall fight in the streets if we have to.
We will never surrender.

Permalink Reply by Herrmann Glockler on June 8, 2012 at 9:02am There is no way Eric Holder will silence what he considers his allies, the Brett Kimberlin types.
And unfortunately cowards like Speaker Boehner are repeating the sins of the Republicans in the Senate, who surrendered whole-sale during the justified impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying under oath.
It comes back to an earlier blog by Judson Phillips, why are the Republicans in both houses of Congress not defending Conservatives, not removing Eric Holder for his many crimes and transgressions.
Have they all been taken over by Democratic Party officials??!!
Permalink Reply by Gail E. Engelhardt on June 8, 2012 at 9:03am Thank you, Judson. I totally agree and let it be known we stand with you and the Conservative bloggers all over this Country of ours. We will fight to the bitter end, if need be. We will not give up, as our God (I firmly believe) wants us to stand up and speak out against all the evil in this World, and especially here at home in our Local, State and Federal governments. If we don't, who will. God Bless You and God Bless everyone who is being attacked illegally by the evil ones like Brett Kimberlin.

Permalink Reply by Kristin Fecteau on June 8, 2012 at 9:18am Fantastic. I agree with you 100% and will blog today about what many are trying to do to consevatives who believe in the Constitution, freedoms, and the greatest nation in the world, United States of America. The greates gift God ever gave me was to be born in the USA and to parents who taught us that working hard and believing in oursleves we can accomplish anything. As a teenager, Mom once said, "There is no such word as Can't." All conservatives must say this to themselves each time the going becomes rough.

And keep the internet free from government interference.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Dover on June 8, 2012 at 10:25am Surrender? What's that? Forget "surrender"! We're going to win!
As for this Attorney General, he seems far more interested in aiding and abetting crime than he does in stopping or apprehending it. He's too busy with "fast & furious" and his attempts to prevent Florida from unmasking fraudulent voters to be bothered with upholding the law.
Permalink Reply by SHARRON AMSTER on June 8, 2012 at 11:40am Thank you Judson, I am with you. We Americans do not surrender. We fight and we fight to win. This is war and the sooner everyone understands this. The sooner we can get on with what must be done. Cowboy up.
Maybe i'm wrong but, I can't shut my mouth. I want the young kids and mj grandchildren to knoow the America I grew up in. Proud that we were Americans. I remember the big fourth of July parade and picnic. The fireworks and the National Anthem. I feel like too many people don't have pride in their country. We need to get our pride back and make sure to teach our children and our grandchildren. If we don't it will be very bad. Look at the way the people live in the countries in the middle east. The only ones who have money in the muslim run countries are the dictators and his pals. The common folks live in poverty. Why would we want that?? I don't and Idon't want that for my grandchildren either!!! America needs our help, lets help her. Let's not sit back and remain complacent.
