Who won the debt ceiling battle? Sarah Palin said the Tea Party did. John McCain says we did. The drive by media wants to spin this as a Tea Party win. Who really things they won?

Though Democratic leaders claimed Republicans bullied them into accepting the debt-ceiling deal, a new poll shows conservatives are far more disappointed with the final product.
The results of the survey, conducted by USA Today/Gallup, underscore the drowned-out claims of Tea Partiers that they got a raw deal.
In Washington, leaders in both parties claimed they were swallowing a bitter pill in order to raise the debt ceiling and move on -- in the end, the bill enjoyed broad, though reluctant, bipartisan support. But the poll showed that outside the Beltway, the partisan divide was much wider.
The poll showed 58 percent of Democrats approve of the deal, compared with just 26 percent of Republicans. A whopping 64 percent of Republicans disapproved.
Further, only 22 percent of Tea Party supporters reported being happy with the compromise package.
The numbers belie the claims being made on Capitol Hill that Democrats were dragged into signing off on what one lawmaker described as a "sugar-coated Satan sandwich," with the creditworthiness of the United States on the line.
While Democrats claimed the cuts were too deep and fretted that a newly established committee could start carving into entitlements, conservatives claimed the deal didn't go far enough to change the fiscal direction on Washington.

There is absolutely no doubt the left won this battle. Nor is there any doubt that John Boehner did what he does best: surrender.
This was the left’s victory. There is no doubt about that. We need to remind everyone, the left got everything they wanted but taxes and by December they will have that too.
When this blows up, we need to pin this on the left. These are their ideas and when they fail, they are the one’s who need to be held responsible.

The Pres won becuase he does not have to deal with this until 2013. If the moron, ignorant and stupid Rep party would have stood for principals, they would have said no to debt increases and let the fraud in the oval office cut. Soon as he cuts benefits, people would take to the streets demanding the fraud and party step down. The taxpayers once again had no chair at the negotiations table, was screwed again by both parties in power. We need to take over the moron RINO's in power, including Cave Man and McClown. Tea Party must be in power, to bring fiscal responsibility back to DC. Progressives and RINO's care about elections, not what is in the best interest of the Country. They all lied again about if we did not pass on more spending, the market would go down big time. So they passed 2.4T added spending, the market went down big time. We were once again lied to by the President, Congress and the tax cheat, who is always wrong. God save this country from dishonest Morons. Its either big business or big Government, taxpayers or unions? Communism or Capitalism? In Government today, progressives are destroying our nation while we sleep. Iran is building a Nuke aimed at Israel and the US. Do we care? Sleeping and Apathy is not the answer. Wake up!

This would have save the AAA credit rating and force the government to become smaller, live within its means. It would have ruined the frauds chance to win in 2012. I blame The Cave Man and McClown for not standing up for what We the People wanted. Over 70% wanted no debt increase in spending. So once again they ignore us, and we will pay for their mistakes.
The world knows that Congress kicked the can down the road, were cowards and liars. The Tax Cheat told us the markets would colapse if increased spending was not approve. This has proven once again that this is quite the opposite. These con men are liars, criminals and thieves. Our 401K get depleted because of their incompetence. Its time to throw them all out, your fired!

Simply said, we need a NEW president, & more Republican Senators, to pull this debt ceiling back down, increase American productivity, re-employ people, & pay down this debt. Face it, people, the Republicans had only so much pull, no media support, & alot of fear about 'unchartered waters" of letting the ceiling stay where it was. It wouldn't have put us in default if our President had paid the $180B he already gets to the interest pmt of the debt, the SSI/Disability recipients, our Military & Vets, & then he could have decided what to pay with the remaining. The press would have given him a pass on whatever he decided to pay, the issue would have been demagogued until we were all puking, (it's hard for me not to now, whenever Obama opens his mouth). This put fear into the Republicans as well, knowing Obama might NOT pay the elderly, military, etc but rather the unemployment, welfare, & food stamp recipients, etc, the social entitlement stuff. I don't like what happened, but I understand it, & it's reality. I hope some of you heard Newt on Medved today...he just went way up on my Presidential Nominee barometer. A mind like that could straighten out the MESS we are in because of these liberals. Blame Chuck U Schumer & Dingy Harry & Folks, people. The Republicans were between a rock & hard place.
