Who elected them?

On Monday, a group of “conservative and Tea Party leaders” released a letter to  Mitch McConnell and John Boehner.  The gist of the letter was that the Tea Party movement did not support social issues and the GOP should stay focused on fiscal issues.

Really?

First, the letter does not define social issues.  What are social issues?  Abortion? Illegal immigration?  Gay marriage?   Maybe they are and maybe they aren’t, but when you hide behind vague terms, no one has a clue as to what you are talking about.

Among the “conservative and Tea Party leaders” that signed this letter was the chairman of the gay GOP group, GOProud and Tammy Bruce, LA based Internet radio talk show host.  There were a total of sixteen signers on this letter.  Seven were state chairs for Tea Party Patriots.

Let’s be clear.  GOProud is not now, nor has it ever been a conservative or a Tea Party organization.  It is a group of gay Republicans who are not particularly conservative.  Tammy Bruce has spoken at a few Tea Party events, but she is not a leader of this movement.

And then, there is Tea Party Patriots.

The Tea Party Patriot website states they are the “Official Home of the American Tea Party Movement”. I find this particularly offensive as there are several national tea party groups, including Tea Party Nation which was founded at the exact same time as Tea Party Patriots. None of these other national groups refer to themselves as the “official home of the tea party movement.” This arrogance seems to be their general attitude as shown last week, when they tried to harass freshmen members of congress to go to their event instead of another one the congressional freshmen had arranged with the conservative group, Claremont Institute.

Contrary to their beliefs, the Tea Party movement is not of Tea Party Patriots, by Tea Party Patriots and for Tea Party Patriots.

This movement has no official home.  It has no specific leader and no group has the right to speak for the movement the way the signers of this letter have.

They owe the movement an apology.

EXACTLY BARRY! We the people will find and recognize the talents and skills of fellow/lady patriots who will be willing to take the appointment of the people. Many will be involved in the process. We are JUST beginning this process. LOOK for such modern day 'George Washingtons, Samuel Adams, Ben Franklins and Thomas Jeffersons, as we look to "Fundamentally Restore our Constitutional Republic"!

Also, beware of the Tories (Libertarians and National Tea Party Patriots) and Benedict Arnolds (Dick Armey, Newt Gingrich, Rupert Murdoch, and Michael Bloomberg) who have an entirely different agenda.
Well said Barry. From a sailors point of view we need to swing those big guns around and let fly a full broadside .And bring very gun to bare on the enemy. We need no one to speak for us we are doing just fine on our own.
Well said, Barry!
DITTO ! This will cause division and conflict within the Tea Party and that's just what the progressives/liberals want. To divide and conquer so we become useless and ineffective. We wil cease to exist as a strong united front keeping our principles alive.
Ron and Barry,

Here's what you said in your comments: IF you believe that a cacophany of voices, with no intelligible, unifying message, but an unorganized 'mob' will get something done. all I can say is "GOOD LUCK" with that!

I'm not arguing at with you, but I do believe with have an intelligble, unifying message and we've just recently placed some newly elects in Washington that understands our message. No doubt, an it's a shame in a way we'll grow too big for our britches and there are those who will insist on an organized leadership. I feel our success has been because we were all on the same page and working for common goals. Thanks and your comments were great!
Ron,

I think the Tea Party success so far is because we all want to take our country back - so many years have passed and our non challant attitude allowed the government to take charge. We all must accept a sizeable part of these problems, because for whatever reasons we were just too busy to be actively involved. That is why I think Obama and friends created such havoc in such a short time.

Frankly I think stopping earmarks is symbolic really, but a great start on the process of downsizing the government - every little bit helps. If all redundant government programs were discontinued, handle on grants, no tax increase and limited spending we would see our country starting the slow road to recovery. At this time no one has any confidence starting with consumers, all businesses big and small and other countries view us as weak and incapable of regrouping.

Those we put in office can accomplish a lot in the next two years and the biggest challenge to us now is to get all Republicans on the same page - I believe the "old dogs" will find it difficult working with our newly elects. Obama, Pelosi and Reid aren't about to go away!
You clearly are a pathetic, lying loser miss Pat Courts! YOU can take you statist, idiot ass down the road. YOU are a TROLL, or a complete fool. When you quote obvious liberals, you tip your hand. You are NOT a Tea Party person. GET LOST!
STeven,

I am sorry we missed him for so long. He is gone as is his content. Anytime you see a troll, go to report an issue and all of the admins will get an email about it.
Thanks Judson - bad news troll just disappeared.
Thanks for the note Judson. I do apologize for my words getting a little strong, though. I'll look through the menu for the place to report an issue. I diligently read posts that I suspect, sometimes finding a passionate patriot, who just doesn't express him/herself well, is confusing, etc. The last thing I want to do is discourage any Patriot!

Have you checked your messages lately, around the time of the election? I sent you a msg
Thanks, Steven, I read Pat Court's tirade before it was deleted and marveled once again at the perverse lack of self-control by progressive, liberal extremists! The language betrays utter lack of respect for others and from Pat Court for him/herself!
Shirley, Marcia, Judson, Steven, et al,

I missed Ms or Mr. Pat Court's post but by the outrage I can sense the Liberal Progressives are still trying to promote their alleged elitist superiority. Your intuition into their mindset is very real. For all their projection about the Republicans, Conservatives, Independents (who don't strictly adhere to their Progressive propaganda) and Tea Party their indolence is always exposed. I have frequented the Huffington Post and MSNBC's comment sections many times (and yes, I admit I have trolled their discussions myself, actually been banned a few times) and it is astonishing to read their blatant socialist/Marxist/Communist brainwashing.

Reading their posts it becomes clear that they have been programmed by the Progressive machine and are fundamentally incurable. Their disdain for any type of individualism is only exceeded by their wanton desire for American declinism in the name of social justice and the collective. They have become so reliant on the government and all its entitlements and social programs their common sense has been stripped from them and replaced with more and more government intrusion and dependence. It's actually pathetic to read some of their posts and their alleged reasoning for why Constitutionally limited government is not only unneeded but should be replaced with the socialist or Communist manifesto so that we are all just happy little creatures scurrying around ignorant and defenseless.

I recommend you go to those sites and read some of the filth, lies, anger and bias they claim everyone else is promoting. I am especially amused at their childish use of the term "tea-baggers" as a pejorative against us. Little do they know that we as "tea-baggers" are the ones who perform the act on them. But this is just another example of their shallowness and incompetence in arguing anything factual. The fact that whenever an article is presented that is contrary to their brainwashing they usually degrade the source or start sharing links for music to occupy themselves until an article of their liking is posted for their chest thumping amusement indicates that most of them are either dysfunctional remnants of the 60's or unfortunately young products of our education system.

I always compare arguing with Liberal Progressives to shadow boxing. After 15 minutes of arguing I realize two undeniable truths.

1. i am tired.

2. I always win.

For a more compelling insight into the Liberal Progressive mind I recomment the following link. It's a very short but terse description and analysis of what we are up against in our effort to stop the fundamental transformation of America and reinstitute Constitutional restoration.
