Colin Powell was George Bush’s Secretary of State. He also endorsed Barack Obama for President four years ago. In other words, he is your typical RINO.
And this will come as a big shock he does not like the Tea Party.
From The Hill:
Former Bush administration Secretary of State Colin Powell on Sunday dismissed chances for a Tea Party candidate to win the presidential election, criticizing the hard-line stance taken by the majority of the grassroots movement and advocated by their favored political candidates. "The Tea Party point of view of 'no compromise whatsoever' is not a point of view that will eventually produce a presidential candidate who will win," he said on ABC's "This Week With Christiane Amanpour." Powell said taking the no-compromise position isn't helping get things done in Washington, and called on members of Congress to "come back to the center to compromise" in order to see progress. "Compromise is how this country was founded," he said, offering as an example the issue of slavery. "Can you imagine more difficult compromises today?" he asked. "We have a Congress now that can't even pass an appropriations bill." Powell slammed the tone on Capitol Hill, which he called "very tense." "Republicans and Democrats are focusing more and more on their extreme left and extreme right," he said. "Unless two people in disagreement with each other don't find a way to reach out to one another and make compromises, you don't get a consensus that allows you to move forward."
Our country was founded on compromise? Give me a break. Powell is an idiot.
Our country was founded on the principles of freedom and liberty. Our country was founded by men and women who refused to compromise with tyranny.
Powell believes that conservatives should just surrender to what the liberals want. There is a reason why no one cares what Colin Powell thinks.
Of course, he is a staple of the drive by media, so there can be another Republican on the news, trashing the Tea Party.
People like Colin Powell are the problem. Compromise is the problem. Instead of standing up for Americans, the politicians in Washington have been compromising.
The problem is we have had too many people like Colin Powell in Washington and not nearly enough people who support the Tea Party.

Permalink Reply by Ruth Sluder on November 28, 2011 at 8:10am I not only don't care what he thinks, I think he is a racist. His vote for Barack was a vote to make a black man President and not for political ideology. Voting for Barack is more than having a RINO mentality, it is socialism up and down. Powell knew who Barack was when he voted for him.

Permalink Reply by Marcia Wood on November 28, 2011 at 8:41am Colin Powell was uncomfortable with George Bush and his Administration - I started watching Colin and when he backed Obama in 2008, that told me this man was a true RINO. Heard Colin speak several years ago, he is polished and would remind you of Obama, Colin lost his way and appears to be very angry and confused.
Permalink Reply by wayne thomas inman on November 28, 2011 at 9:15am I believe that Colin Powell is a product of affirmative action. And he is not a natural born citizen. I';m glad he is not on the side of the Tea Party. I would like to know if there is a country on this earth that is governed by blacks that has a thriving econemy, and a free people?
Permalink Reply by jalina susan stutte on November 28, 2011 at 9:18am Colin Powell is a piece of Trash as far as I'm concerned. I expect he got his rank by being black instead of merit, filling a quota. I was surprised when he endorsed Marxist Obama but it did wake me up, to the problems that were coming. This man is nothing more than a Marxist and I don't care what he says or thinks. Just because you served under Bush which I now understand that Bush is a Rino and did alot of harm to our freedom and liberty in this land, does not make you great.
Permalink Reply by M ary Triola on November 28, 2011 at 9:26am He is so obvious. He was a republican but voted for bho why? I think he voted for the fraud-in-chief because he is black. The reason he goes on these stupid morning shows is because their the only ones who will listen to the drone. Next he'll be a commentator on msnbc where all go to die. Then he has the nerve to blame us the tea party for all the failures. How dare he!!!!!!! Powell and his ilk have sold their souls and by the grace of GOD they will be punished. I don't know about any of you but I for one cannot watch any of these shows and that includes Fox news Sunday with the liberal Chris Wallace. Zone out read all you can and draw your own conclusions. The sooner we realize ALL these people have sold us out the sooner they go out of business.Boycott them all!!!!!!
Permalink Reply by Mindy on November 28, 2011 at 11:15am I lost all respect for Powell when he came out in support of Obama, for me that action alone was proof that he was no conservative. I no longer care to hear anything he has to say on any subject.
Permalink Reply by Dan Bruner on November 28, 2011 at 11:54am Good article. I have never thought much of Powell. His endorsement of Obama was purely racial. He would not have endorsed or supported a WHITE candidate with Obama's views...that makes him a RACIST!! To echo others on here, compromise is not always a virtue, and is never a virtue when compromising with evil. Who would have ever believed supporting the Bill of Rights would be proclaimed as "radical thinking"? The 2012 election is the tipping point for the USA. The people will choose whether they want to live in a fascist country or a free country. Elect the dems and rinos and the USA as a REPUBLIC is finished. I am still very concerned BHO will find an excuse to implement martial law near the elections so he can, by executive order suspend elections. Be prepared people, and I think all of you know what I mean.
Permalink Reply by Paul Klaus on November 28, 2011 at 11:57am Colin Powell is a member of the CFR. He toes the globalist line. I do not expect him to endorse much of anything or anyone that is supportive of the Constitution or the American people.
Powell defies his own book. He is beyond a phony and RINO.
he can't even quote or site the correct stance of the founding fathers-what a jerk!
I don't want compromise-compromise is PC for GOP do what the left wants or
'Screw' what the military has fought and died for...yeah, this from a supposed general
Permalink Reply by J. Andrew Reid on November 28, 2011 at 1:09pm The Constitution was the result of compromise but that does not mean we should now compromise the agreed upon principles which form the basis for it.
The problem is not that there is no compromise, it is that there is no arbiter. Normally the President serves this purpose but ours is absent most of the time and when he is there he does not know how to negotiate. Powell needs to face he reality that many other intelligent blacks have realized; they backed the wrong candidate and need to admit it and move on.
