The media and the left would have you believe the Republicans and conservatives are the party of big money.  As with everything liberals say, it is generally untrue.  Not only is it untrue, the true facts and figures are alarming.

In order for us to fight, we have to understand what we are up against.

How bad is this?

From 2009 to 2010, Political Action Committees (PACs) raised a lot of money.  They are required to report that money to the Federal Election Commission. You would think the GOP would at least crack the top five given that people who self-identify as conservatives far outnumber liberals by 2 to 1. You would be wrong.

Who are the top five PACs and how much money did they take in last year?

The top five PACS are:

1. Act Blue:                                                    $63 Million

2. SEIUCOPE                                                 $36.2 Million

3. Moveon.org                                                $29.8 Million

4. Emily’slist                                                   $19.3 Million

5. AFSCME                                                     $18.1 Million

Of the top five PACs, all of them are liberal groups.  They raised total $166.4 million to promote socialism and candidates who support socialism!   If you get to number six on the list you will find the National Rifle Association, at $15.4 million, some of which went to Harry Reid.  When you get to number eleven on the list, you finally find a conservative group.  That is the Senate Conservatives Fund championed by Jim DeMint.  But that group only raised $8.8 Million.

Where is all of this money coming from?  Rich liberals and Unions are the bulk of it.  The question is why aren’t conservative groups more competitive in fundraising? Mitt Romney may have taken in $18.4 million last quarter, but that is a small pittance when Obama is projected to raise over $1 billion on his reelection campaign. He doesn’t even have to spend money on a primary process.

In the Tea Party movement, we like to compare ourselves to the founding fathers.  In some ways that is a good comparison.   Like the founding fathers, we find ourselves fighting the most sophisticated organization the world has ever seen.  They are the best funded and have incredible tools.  Much like the British Army facing the Colonials.   But we have something they can never have.  We have the thirst for Freedom.

Almost every anti liberty group has something in common.  They get money from people against the will of the people.  These groups get money from the government, even though a majority of Americans oppose  funding groups like ACORN and Planned Parenthood.  They receive money through compulsory union dues, even though most Union members do not support the way the Union bosses spend the money.

One of our objectives as a movement must be to defund liberalism.  We have to do that by removing the leftist groups sources of funding.  None of these groups should receive a dime from the taxpayers.  No union member should be forced to contribute dues that are then used to support candidates they oppose.

In the Tea Party movement, by definition, we do more with less because we have to.  We are efficient because we have to be.  But we cannot operate with no money.

We have to fight back.

Look at the numbers and see what we are up against.  Knowing those numbers, will you help?

Will you help us continue the mission we started in February 2009 as a national coalition of tea party activists? Your secure online contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more will enable us to succeed in our mission to Take America Back from the socialist Obama regime and succeed in 2012!

2012 is our ultimate battle.  If we do not win in 2012, America will be lost to socialism.  We will never be able to undo what has been done.  This is what the left wants.  This is why they are throwing hundreds of millions of dollars into the campaign.  Barack Obama has bragged he will raise $1 billion dollars for his reelection.

What will we do?

That is why it is crucial you join us today and, if possible, make a generous contribution to Tea Party Nation in the amount of $25 or more.

Will you help?

We may never have hundreds of millions of dollars but the Tea Party movement has done amazing things with almost no money.   But we need help now.  Will you contribute?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Judson Phillips
Founder, Tea Party Nation

P.S.  Your contribution in the amount of $25, $50, $100 or more will go a long way toward helping us continue to fight the Obama regime’s socialist plans for America. Together we can defeat liberalism and elect true conservative candidates.

Two observations, Judson:

  1. The primary source of the Left's funds, obviously, is tax dollars. Cleansed by passing through unions and so on.
  2. Might as well contribute to the Right! The Socialists are stealing it anyhow. Might as well get some use, of what little remains.
Sorry, I hate to be so negative. But that's just the way it is. The only hope of keeping any of your funds is to defeat these thieves.

...I know a lot of folks are like me:  contribute directly to the candidate(s) of choice.  I stopped contributing to the GOP several years ago.

I have given to the Senate Conservative Fund run by Sen. Jim DeMint. This senator I trust. If you specify a particular senator you want it to go to, the money will go in that person's fund. It's a safe fund, as far as I am concerned.
I will sound stupid but I will ask any way. What will we use the money for? Do we have a current cash flow?

That is my question also.

What is TPN's plan going forward into 2012?

The articles and contributors by comments are great but it doesn't seem that we are moving the ball forward by the discussion among ourselves.

...I'll jump into this, too... WHAT will TPN use the money for?  Are "we" going to be placing ads in newspapers, television and radio?  WILL will be initiating lawsuits that expose the Left, their candidates, and their agenda?

We are currently working on several projects.  The top one right now is to try and help the Tea Parties in Minnesota.  The left is spinning the government shutdown there as being the fault of the Tea Party movement.  The facts are far different from what is being told.  Most of the big money is going to Wisconsin and in many ways it seems the Minnesota folks are on there own.  This is the top priority right now.

...I'm prepared to proivde a monthly donation... BUT WHAT is being done, or in the planning stages, for Minnesota?

Sorry I am really dense today but what will $'s do to change TP image in Minn.?
What are the Tea Party's in Minnesota doing to help themselves? I have yet to read one article anywhere that shows what If any actions they are doing. I am all for helping those who need it, but first I want to see the efforts they are doing for themselves. Just like so many other people in this country.

...now THAT is a very good question, Sandy!

I'm calling and emailing my congressmen!

I'm researching the issues!

I'm all over the Yahoo blogs!

...others are doing similar work

Sandy, just because you don't see it in the news, doesn't meant it isn't happening. MSNBC and FOX are certainly not going to give us good press. I know of several projects going on within TPN that nobody has seen yet because they are not complete. Be patient, and understand what we are up against.
