Anthony Weiner is holding on to his congressional seat.  At least for the moment.  If he were a Republican, he would have followed the example of Chris Lee and been gone two weeks ago.   Why is he hanging on? Why does he want to continue to endure the abuse while he remains a public spectacle?

The answer is very simple.  Anthony Weiner is like so many other liberal politicians.   He has never had anything other than a government job.   His big concern is if he resigns from Congress what will he do for a living?  According to published reports, he has told friends he does not know how he will pay his bills if he leaves congress.

Unlike many other members of Congress, he is not a lawyer.  He does not have a business degree.   All he has is government.  Weiner has been in congress since 2001, presumably he would have a congressional pension.    His wife is working but wouldn’t that be an interesting conversation to watch as Weiner asks her for them to live off of her income alone.

Weiner has a reputation for being brash, arrogant and generally a jerk.  Those are all qualities liberals like, as long as you can keep your junk off of the Internet.

Ordinarily if a congressman like Weiner were to decide to pull the plug on his career he would have options.  Lobbying firms might be interested.  The liberal media complex is always looking to put another far leftist on as a host or expert.  Even liberal think tanks or advocacy groups could be an option.

Thanks to Weiner’s twitter mistake none of those are options.  Right now, Weiner is about as popular with all of those groups as Sarah Palin would be at a George Soros hosted cocktail party.

Weiner represents the problem with Washington.  It has become a magnet for careerists.  Even worse, it is a magnet for those who have never done anything but work for the government.  They are in DC, not because they love this country and want to do what is best for their constituents. They are there because they see it as their career.

John Boehner is an example of someone who has been in Washington too long.  But Boehner, for all of his faults, ran a small business before he came to Washington.   While he seems to have forgotten what things are like for us here in Real America, he has been out there and done things.  He has had to make a payroll before.  He has created jobs.  He has taken his chances with the free market.

What has Weiner done?  Weiner, since college has done nothing but collect money from the government, while advocating the government spend even more money on ridiculous projects.

If anyone has any sympathy for Weiner, they haven’t really shown it.  The Democrats want this embarrassment to end.  Republicans are just sitting back enjoying the show.   Weiner is slowly twisting in the wind, not getting sympathy for his own self-inflicted hell and also for being such a jerk.

With the exception of nut job liberal Alec Baldwin, no one on the left is coming out to defend Weiner. Baldwin tried to excuse Weiner’s actions by writing in the Huffington Post:

“For high functioning men like Weiner and other officials who have lived through such scandals, who are constantly on the go, that leaves one tried and true source of a reliable high. The affirmation that comes when someone lets you know they want to sleep with you. Or even cyber-sleep with you.”

In other words, none of this is Weiner’s fault.

Perhaps the only person to have some sympathy for is Weiner’s wife.  Even then, she had to know what kind of man she was marrying. Many political wives will make that trade off.  The unspoken agreement is just keep it out of the headlines.

Sadly, Weiner will survive this.  He will be leaving Congress.  The only question is when.  He will quietly disappear for a short period of time.  Liberals take care of each other and Weiner will find himself another position in the liberal establishment, his salary directly or indirectly paid for by the taxpayers.

Weiner is the poster child for everything that is wrong in Washington and he is the example of everything the Tea Party needs to clean out of government.

Our message for Weiner and the rest of the DC career politicians, “You were sent to DC to work for the people, not to make it a permanent career.”

ATLAS SHRUGGED
Alec Baldwin sees Weiner's implosion as his opportunity to run for mayor of New York City.  What is Alec Baldwin doing here anyhow as he promised to leave the country if Bush was elected president?
I've been bringing up the "Congress should telecommute" idea in discussions with friends for several years, and had not heard of eCongress.  Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention.  Nice to know I'm not alone in thinking this is an excellent solution for saving money, and keeping Congressmen/women home where they're more accessible to the folks who elected them...and where they're less likely to be corrupted by the DC scene. Let the lobbyists have to travel all over the country to find them..and then stand in line behind the voters.

Nice Idea, but eCongress wouldn't work  for many of these slobs. Perhaps most of them!

They don't work now, really. Even when they are required to show up for work!

Remember Pass the Bill So That You Can Find Out What Is In It? It would be a mouse click. and back to the porn for the Weener! And for many others, sad to say!

Speaking of laws that should have been read before they were passed, the so-called Patriot Act apparently fits that category. Two members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Udall, D-CO and Ron Wyder, D-OR told an LA Times reporter that Americans would be shocked if they knew how this act was being interpreted and implemented. According to Udall, there are things about the bill he can't discuss, even with other senators, unless they go into a special room in the Capitol building that has been fortified against eavesdropping! Here's a link to a 5 minute video about this story:

I agree he is the "Poster Child" and when he was younger it was for birth control. Leave him alone to right before the election.. it will take down a few more democrat seats. It would be nice to see no Democrats or Republicans in the House, Senate or the Presidency. Do you think they would realize then we are tired of all the games they play with our TAX  MONEY. Put them all out and take the fossils like Harry Reid and the bot-ox Poster girl with them.
Weiner should go.  But why is Sen. Viter (R-LA) still in office after admitting to having paid to have sex with a hooker?
Why? Because he knows it will all pass. A new scandal will take its place & Americans are forgiving. We lost all sense of morals and honor.
It looks like the Weeeeiner is really a looooooser (in south of the border language).
If this was to happen to a teacher in the school system, they would be put on leave, have a trial and be dismissed or go to jail! I think "Weiner" should go for the fact is that some of his actions were while he was on the clock and this should call for dismissal. Truely he isn't focusing on the his work when the economy and everything else is in such a state. He is on OUR clock! He should be forced to resign!

True; and counter to the intentions of the Founders, careerists are attracted to the evergreen fields of the Federal behomoth.

Another consideration as to why supposedly intelligent men in government challenge common sense and spit directly into the eye of self preservation with actions that any fool could predict will become public is the notion of relative moral experiences.

D.C. is a liar's paradise.  Congress has for decades routinely violated deep seated principles that supposedly underpin our republic; routinely they ignore their oaths of office. I would absolutely not be surprised if better than half of those who serve in Congress have never even read the Constitution.

What is a little adultery compared to the routine violation of core principles that is the soup de jure of life in Foggy Bottom?  Compromising the sacred and the holy is simply the way things are done in that cesspool.

How great a leap is it to move from violating an entire nation to violating a few nobodies in the pseudo anonymity of the internet?  Apparently it's not much of a leap at all.

Why wouldn't a clown like Weiner believe that time will wash the stench off his name and life will simply return to the routine violation of everybody and everything?  In his whacked out world view, the rest of us should just get over it so he can move on to the important work of making rules for the rest of us to live by.

Everytime I see his face, I want to throw up.

Weiner is an idiot and a total loser.  The demos are desperate to get rid of him, but I wouldn't care if he stays around till the next election just to remind those on the fence just how stupid and screwed up liberals are.

The one doing the damage is obama.    Recently, a man named Doug Vogt, who ownes a scanner and imaging co. and is an expert on  document imaging software brought a criminal complaint against obama.  Mr. Vogt asserts that he has irrefutable proof that the Certificate of Live Birth Long Form submitted by the President is a created forgery.  Many other experts have confirmed this as well.  Forgery is a FELONY.

Secondly, there is compelling evidence that Mr. Obama is using a social security number that was issued in Connecticut to an individual that would now be 120 years old.  Mr. Obama has never lived in Connecticut, and I do not believe he is 120 years old.  If indeed, Mr Obama were using a social security number issued to a dead person, this would be identity theft, a FELONY.

If Pilosi can call for an investigation of Weiner's weiner activity, maybe we can find somone in Congress who cares enough about America to call for an investigation of obama's criminal activity.
