It is possible that American troops could be put on trial for burning the Koran in Afghanistan? The whole notion simply boggles the mind. Let’s not even get into any issues of Islam and terrorism for a moment.
What we know of the case is that the soldiers who burned the Korans and other Muslim religious materials did not know what they were burning because the matierals were written in languages they did not speak.
This was not a deliberate act so you would think the matter would be quickly closed. Not so.

The U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan has not ruled out military proceedings against U.S. troops involved in the disposal of Qurans by burning them.
"If there are to be proceedings, they are going to be U.S. proceedings under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) -- and I don't think there is any question or doubt on the part of the Afghan government that that is exactly how it's going to go," Ryan Crocker told Fox News Wednesday night.
Fox anchor Bret Baier had asked Crocker if Afghan President Hamid Karzai's call for a public trial had raised some eyebrows at the U.S. Embassy.
It may not have raised eyebrows at the Embassy but every American soldier in Afghanistan and in other places is thinking about it.
This is such a monumental breach of faith with the members of the American military, it simply staggers the mind.
Six American service members have now been killed since this wave of violence began. Afghanistan is not worth it.
The only purpose our troops serve in Afghanistan is to protect America from terrorist attacks. Their job is not to build a nation or as Obama seems to think, be a target for the terrorists.
We have a problem with liberals control American policy. We lose wars and Americans die needlessly. In the case of Afghanistan, Obama will not let our troops win. He cannot figure out how to lose without getting blamed so Americans continue to die in that worthless hellhole for no good reason.
This will come as a shock to the Party of Treason, but the purpose of our military is to go in harm’s way and come back victorious.
The deaths of American soldiers are on Obama’s head. It is his fault.
The lesson from Afghanistan should be that we never ever have an un-American liberal as commander in chief again.

I would not be surprised to see this America hating excuse for a human being put these soldiers on trial either through a military court martial or an Afgani court. Of course it will have to be a trumped up court martial because the UCMJ does not specify the burning of any religious literature as a criminal act.
Our troops have been in that hell-hole for ten years. What have they accomplished? Are the Afganis more friendly toward the U.S.? Are they greatful for the roads, hospitals, schools, or water treatment plants we have built? If so, they sure as heck have a unique way of showing it. Have we helped to form a stable government? Have we defeated and obliterated the enemy which we are capable of? Have we made more allies in the Muslim world?
Since we have failed in winning the war and in winning the heart of the Afganis, here is a unique idea. Pull all our troops out immediately, cut off all aid to Afghanistan and Pakistan, and provide India with all military aid necessary. Warn the Taliban that any further attacks sponsored by them on the U.S. will be met with fire from heaven in the form of missiles and bombs.
One other important item, withdraw from that American hating organization called the U.N.
