For many conservatives, the last couple of weeks have been tough.  We have slowly had to accept a very painful realization.  Yet as we accept it, as bad as it is, there is hope.  There is Plan B.

What is the tough realization we have had to make and more importantly what is Plan B?

First, the tough realization is the fact that Mitt Romney is going to be the Republican nominee for President.  Despite all of the efforts of the Tea Party, the Republican Party, hell bent on political suicide, is going to nominate the most liberal Republican in history.

My candidate, Newt Gingrich is eliminated.  His campaign is on its last legs.  He cannot gain enough delegates to win and in fact, he probably will not even have his name put in nomination at the convention because he has not won enough states.

Rick Santorum is slowly sliding to defeat.  He is fighting every inch of the way but even in his home state of Pennsylvania, he is fading.    It is only a matter of time before the numbers crush him.

That leaves us with Romney.

The problem is we conservatives screwed up royally.   We share the same failing that so many people and even so many societies have.  We look for the savior.  The one who will come and miraculously pull us out of our problems.

Ronald Reagan was the closest we will see to someone like that.  Out of 44 Presidents we can only call perhaps three of them great presidents.   So the odds of another great President coming along anytime soon are not good.

What will save us is an idea.  People rarely rally just because of a leader.  People rally to ideas.  In 1776, the people did not rally to George Washington or Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson.  They rallied to the idea of freedom.

Our choices this November are Obama or Romney.  That really isn’t a choice.  Obama is an anti-American Marxist who was recently caught begging the Russians for “space” so he get reelected before he sells out our nation’s defense.  Romney is a liberal.  His track record shows that.  The thing with Romney is that we at least have a hope of improvement.

All of this is meaningless without an idea to rally people to.   We need an idea that can engage people.  We need an idea that can get people out of their apathy.   We need an idea that will motivate people.  We need an idea that will make change in this nation.  We need an idea that the politicians will have to listen to and that will advance the cause of freedom.

On April 16th, Herman Cain is taking his revolution to Capitol Hill in Washington.  Cain’s 9-9-9 Plan may not be perfect but I’m not looking for perfect.  I’m looking for the idea that will motivate people to take action and make their representatives take action.

In 2009, an idea galvanized America.  The idea was the Tea Party movement.   In 2012, we made a huge mistake.  We looked for a leader when we do not need one.  We need a plan that will take America by storm and help us fight back against those who have taken our government away from us.

Our government is not of the political elite, by the political elite and for the political elite.  It is of the people, by the people and for the people.

It is time we made Washington remember this and it is time we act on a plan that will take power from the elites and give it back to the people.

I will vote the GOP ticket but dont think Romney can bet him..

Unless

The gas prices keep going up

Or he keeps screwing up with open mics

Or he keeps sticking his nose into civil state and city matters. and making them more Racial.

Or unless Romney picks the right VP.

Is there any way to force him to choose a Conservative?

Romney should go West .... Allen West, that is. Not sure if that would happen, but it would be a strong conservative foundation for the ticket. I don't think Obama wins against Romney because the economy is in such bad shape, and that's not going to change between now and November. It just isn't. And Obama is actively against doing ANYTHING to lower gas prices (the one thing voters would love and remember from him), so .... he's toast. Unless the Democrats have a plan to steal the election, he's toast. Too many mistakes, too many reveals of his faults and incompetence.

Back to the VP slot: if not Allen West, who would energize the Tea Party to Romney and the convention, then Romney should pick Marco Rubio as his VP - IF Rubio would accept. And, after his endorsement of Romney, I would say the odds are much better than they were a week ago.

A Romney/West-Rubio ticket would have a very good chance, for a lot of reasons, to beat Obama - which, let me remind, is THE GOAL. Barack Obama MUST be defeated, no matter WHO'S running. It's more important and crucial to get him and his agenda OUT of power than ANYTHING else. Everyone, I hope, realizes this. Most of us wanted other candidates. Like Judson, I wanted Gingrich. I still do. But, he won't be the nominee. Neither will Santorum. If you are a rational, dispassionate person, you know this. The  MOST Santorum can hope for is to be asked to be the VP; and I don't see Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum as a willing pair. THAT phone call, I'm pretty sure, won't be coming from Romney to Santorum.

The SMARTEST THING Mitt Romney can do for November is to make sure his VP is a Tea Party person; otherwise, win or lose, Congress will go through hell the next four years. And Republicans will suffer at the polls all over the country because the Tea Party will be less likely to vote for the types of conservatives that Mitt Romney represents in the Republican Party. We need more conservatives in Congress in order to get Paul Ryan's budget passed and implemented; Harry Reid and the Dems MUST be neutered in the Senate in order for the new President to start repairing the damage caused by Obama.

Gee .. help me out here. Did anyone else read in my original post that I am (a) apathetic, (b) pathetic, or (c) REALLY happy that Mitt Romney looks like the presumptive nominee? No, a thousand times NO! In fact, I mentioned a guy named Newt Gingrich who, in my humble opinion, SHOULD be the next President of the United States.

I know Romney has issues - just like Gingrich, and Perry, and Bachmann, and Cain all had issues. Let's not kid ourselves: Rick Santorum has issues as well. I have not, nor am I, a big Romney fan. However, I place great value in certain people's opinions; one of those people being Marco Rubio. He and Paul Ryan, along with Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, understand what America is all about better than almost anyone else. The fact that HE (Rubio) endorsed Romney says a lot to me ... as well, Richard, as the fact that he DIDN'T endorse Rick Santorum. Let's also take a look at Pennsylvania, shall we? Santorum, according to the latest information, isn't even doing well enough in his OWN STATE to hold a substantial lead! At least Newt Gingrich won HIS home state!

When I look at Mitt Romney, I don't see ANYTHING that makes me think he equates in ANY way to Barack Obama. So, I'm going to throw that part of your argument out on its' face. But when I look at Rick Santorum, I see a decent guy, a good guy ... but, also the guy who endorsed Arlen Specter. You remember him, don't you? The REAL flip-flopper from Pennsylvania? That, my friend, is just about as unforgivable as I get.

If you think some of us are "losers" for seeing Romney as more electable than Rick Santorum, well, you've certainly got a right to your opinions. This, however, is mine.

Objection overruled.

Obamney care and cap and trade dont remind you of Obama?

You also forget, Newt is in a very different state than Rick, in addition Newt did not have Karl Roves/Romnwys millins thrown at him for 3 months. downtown Atlanta is more conservative than 80% of PA i dont think Newt has ever pulled more than an 11% in PA and Paul is not that high.

But How many states has Rick won compared to Newt? How many Reagan Democrats did Newt ever get? they are what put Rick over the top in his 5 wins

Your right. Newt is from a very red state that WAS ONCE part of the solid south (DEMOCRAT). Newt lost 3 elections in the 70's running for congress in the solid south before he was succesful. Newt change the politics of Georgia and much of the South with his leadership as a conservative. In 94 Newt help turn much of the country conservative with the brilliance of the Contract with America. The Contract with America was very conservative and, by the way help Santorum get elected. Once Newt left the goverment the spine of the Republican party went with him. Santorum pandered to the left and the unions in PA and the RINO's, and anybody that would keep him elected. Spending money like a drunkin sailor taken the bacon home to PA and payin back his big donors showed Santorum was never a conservative, the guilds inwhich he got elected under. How did the people of PA repay him? Not only was he booted out by his home state of PA but he left it more blue than ever before. And he calls himself the Principled Conservative. He's not Principled or Conservative!

Reagan Democrats will vote Republican in the general election, not primaries. Only Democrat Troublemakers vote in the Republican primaries.

Calm down and quit yelling please.  Romney is winning the nomination by getting the most delegates.  No one is apathetic and no one is "giving" anyone anything.

As for your "fairy tales", science has proven that ALL religious books are mostly fiction, so the Book of Mormon is no better or worse than any of the others.  If you bother to read it, you will see many of the same "fairy tales" that are in the Bible.

You are entitled to your opinion, but there is no need to be calling names and screaming at people, many of whom are fine Conservatives and Christians.  That kind of mentality just makes the entire Tea Party look foolish.

I would also say that Santorum may be playin the bait and switch game NOW with all the social issues he claims to support. How did the people of PA repay him? Not only was he booted out by his home state of PA but he left it more blue than ever before. He showed no leadership for the conservative cause in his home state or nationaly. And he calls himself the Principled Conservative. He's not Principled or Conservative! I'm not a Romney supporter by no means. I don't beleive that Romneys capable of advancing anything but the establishment and that will only carry us down the path of decay a little slower than obama. I will say that I beleive Romney may be more conservative than Santorum. Santorums history of throughing away our tax dollars and exploding the debt is atroshis. At least Romney has been in bussines and has had to manage his own money. People that have skin in the game tend to be a little more conservative with money than thouse that have only spent other peoples.

Allen West for VP!!! Yes!

Romney is not my choice by a long shot. I voted for Santorum in our primary. However, I do believe Romney can and will beat the despot because he definitely appeals to independents. He will need a Tea Party candidate as his mate and I think he will chose one. They are not stupid....hopefully. I think Rubio would be a good choice too. My heart throb is West....for President! Meanwhile, 9-9-9!

Rubio is not eligable. And I would not vote for him is he was. He has been carefully groomed by the Bush tribe.

Does anyone think Romney is considering Paul Ryan especially in light of the fact that the House just passed his budget overwhelmingly?  See that they've been campaigning together.
