There is a list of really bad Congressmen. The good news is the overwhelming majority of those on the list are members of the Party of Treason. The bad news is there are a few really bad GOP Congressmen and they do need to be replaced.
Who is the worst GOP Congressman?
There are several who would be in the running for that title, including Speaker John Boehner. However, one who should be on that list, if not the winner is a Congressman from Louisiana, Charles Boustany.
Boustany has been a Congressman since 2005. By profession he is a Doctor. He is also tied into the Democratic Louisiana political structure because his wife is the niece of the former Louisiana Democratic Governor and convicted felon Edwin Edwards.
As a Republican in Congress his message has been simple. Let’s borrow more money and let’s spend more money. Four times during his tenure, he has voted to raise the debt ceiling.
*H.J.RES.47* - Increasing the statutory limit on the public debt - on 4/28/2005 at $781 billion (1 of 214 Republicans)
His votes helped raise the debt ceiling $4.3 trillion dollars.
He voted for $2 billion in funding for Obama’s cash for clunkers program. The real down side to that program is that Americans could not trade in their clunker congressmen, such as Boustany.
He has constantly voted for more spending and on Capitol Hill he is considered one of John Boehner’s most reliable votes. Anything Boehner wants, Boustany will do.
One of the worst of Boustany’s votes was last year when he voted for the Debt Ceiling compromise. He said the compromise was the best move. Boustany is one of those Republicans who is always looking for “compromise.” When compromise is your goal, surrender is always your first option.
Louisiana has some great Republican congressmen, including John Fleming and Jeff Landry.
Jeff Landry has been a real Tea Party hero on Capitol Hill. He was an insurgent candidate in 2010, defeating the former Speaker of the Louisiana House to become a Congressman. The establishment in Louisiana fought back and redistricted Landry into Boustany’s district and stripped away many of the areas that Landry had done well in back in 2010.
Landry is a great Congressman who is a member of the Tea Party Caucus and who is there for the right reasons. He was one of the Congressmen that held up the debt ceiling deal last year.
Boustany is a poster child for everything that is wrong with the Republican Party.
Now that Landry has been redistricted into Boustany’s district, the question is will Jeff Landry run against Boustany?
He has not said.
Let’s hope he decides to. We need more Tea Party Congressmen like Jeff Landry and fewer establishment clunker Congressmen like Charles Boustany.
We in the Tea Party should encourage Jeff Landry to run for a couple of reasons. We need more patriots like Jeff Landry in the Congress. We also need to show the establishment that they will not simply redistrict Tea Party Congressmen out of office.
If you want to show support to Jeff Landry, his twitter account is @repjefflandry.
His Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/repjefflandry. Join me in encouraging Jeff Landry to take on the RINO Congressman Charles Boustany. We need more real conservatives in Washington and few tax, borrow and spend politicians.
Anyone from Indiana have a sense of how Mourdock is/will be fairing against Donnelly?
He's got my vote...since the first CR he refused to obey baabaaboehner on.
The leadership and arm twisters must go,and when Sarah swears in then all Will change,U Betcha SP & AW 2012 or Bust... ~ !
Boehner has had the Ace card so many times and not played them. That politically qualifies him for the biggest RINO award and complicit with the Party of Treason. Out with the trash.
As far as the bad GOP Congressmen/women go......we have only ourselves to blame. Time to own up admit we made the mistake and fix the problem.
Judson, what are the chances of getting Boehner replaced in November? Are there any Tea Party candidates in his district that've declared or who are "exploring" at this point? We need to dump that chump. Seriously.
I sent this article to my Brother and Nephew who both live in this guys district. Maybe that will cost him two votes in the future.
"Louisiana Governor and convicted felon"
Isn't that redundant?
There are a large number of Republican Representatives who need to be sent home. Kevin Brady from my part of Texas advocated and voted for the creation of a Supre committee that was sure to deadlock and he did it knowing that the penalty would be gutting the defense budget. He refuses to admit that Obama's credentials are in question. Bill Flores, also form my part of Texas admitted Obama's record is unusual, but admits that to investigate would be costly politically. I hope it costs him his seat. A RINO he is who rode in on TEA Party support.
Look closely at your Rep and give walking papers to anyone who does not exercise good judgment and support constitutional limitations on the powers of government.
We totally agree!!! and that's why TPoL started back in early 2012 to call on Jeff to run against Boustany. See our Press Release of 01/19/2012 below. We are asking everyone in Louisiana to help in this fight to get Jeff Landry re-elected and back to Congress for the next two years!
TEA PARTY OF LOUISIANA DRAFTS JEFF LANDRY FOR REELECTION RUN
TPoL Looks For Conservative Leadership in the Congress from Jeff Landry
For Immediate Release
January 19, 2012
BATON ROUGE - The Tea Party of Louisiana (TPoL) drafts Congressman Jeff Landry to run for reelection and pledges its support for Jeff to once again be the Congressman from the 3rd District of Louisiana.
TPoL spokesman Bob Reid stated, “We feel that Jeff Landry offers the best opportunity to voice our opposition to the status quo in Washington
, and that he is clearly the best advocate for reducing the size of government, reviving our economy, and restoring the power to We the People. We have drafted Jeff because he will continue to represent the best interests of Louisiana not the self-appointed “ruling class” in Washington. Jeff does not engage in Washington gimmicks like the politicians who recently voted to disapprove of the current debt increase after they voted to give the President the authority to raise it in August. Rather, Jeff stands up for fiscal responsibility and always fights for our future generations, without worrying about the next election."
Reid went on to say, “Jeff Landry speaks for us on many issues like fighting to repeal ‘Obamacare,’ reducing the size of government, fighting deficits & wasteful spending, ending bailouts & stimulus plans, opposing ‘Cap & Trade’ type legislation & taxes, getting the government off the backs of small business, and out of the lives of everyday citizens. We need more Americans & Congressmen like Jeff Landry to step up and help restore America to its Constitutional roots in our joint efforts to help bring about a Government governed by the people.”
TPoL is a non-profit, non-partisan group with members all across the state. TPoL is dedicated to working to restore constitutionally based, limited government at the federal, state and local levels.
