In a year that saw the Republican leadership sell out the voters that put them in power and sell out their own alleged beliefs, there is one final sell out that has come to pass.
What is it?
Obama has asked to raise the debt ceiling by another $1.2 trillion.
We can stop it right?
Wrong!
Thanks to the Boehner-McConnell sell out, the authority to borrow money has been transferred to the very regime that is trying to drive us off of the economic cliff!
From Reuters:
The White House plans to ask Congress by the end of the week for an increase in the government's debt ceiling to allow the United States to pay its bills on time, according to a senior Treasury Department official on Tuesday.
The approval is expected to go through without a challenge, given that Congress is in recess until later in January and the request is in line with an agreement to keep the U.S. government funded into 2013.
The debt is projected to fall within $100 billion of the current cap by December 30, when the United States has $82 billion in interest on its debt and payments such as Social Security coming due. President Barack Obama is expected to ask for authority to increase the borrowing limit by $1.2 trillion, part of the spending authority that was negotiated between Congress and the White House this summer.
Under the agreement struck in August during the showdown over the government's debt limit, the cap is automatically raised unless Congress votes to block the debt-ceiling extension. Lawmakers have 15 days within receiving the request to vote, which is largely symbolic because the president can veto it and Congress would be unlikely to muster the two-thirds majority to override it. Moreover, the U.S. House of Representatives also is in recess until January 17.
Isn’t that special. Not only did Boehner give the credit card to Obama, he set it up where he would have the out so he would not be blamed.
So Obama can raise the debt ceiling and we cannot do anything about it. Thank you John Boehner.
The future is very clear for a country that borrows and spends beyond its means. Just look at Europe.
Meanwhile, the obvious question is who in the hell thought this bill was a good idea? Did anyone even read the bill before it was voted on?
It is time for John Boehner to resign. If Boehner will not resign, it is time for the Tea Party to tell our members of Congress to force him out as speaker. John Boehner is either the most incompetent man to ever sit in the Speaker’s chair or he is a total sell out to Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Honestly we could not have done any worse of Pelosi were still the Speaker.
It is time for a coup, like the one John Boehner helped lead against Newt Gingrich years ago.
Either the GOP members of Congress listen now or we find new people to put in Washington.

I also think it is time to impeach the AG Eric Holder and his boss President Obama. Somebody needs to serve some jail time in my opinion.
Permalink Reply by Wm. R. Anderson on December 28, 2011 at 9:16am I have long had a theory about politicians (andcertain other people in power positions). One person doing an illegal, immoral or unethical act will condone others doing the same sort of thing. This person WILL NOT DARE to bring attention to the next person's shortcomings and corruption for fear of others pointing an accusing finger at him.
So the situation is constantly compounding, until we have a country and a governing body , like we have now, all inclusive, from the dog catcher right on up to the president.
You know, I believe my theory has progressed beyond theory to FACT!
People it will be an uphill battle of epic proportions to make this the United States of America again. If we do not figt with educated votes, we will be forced to fight a physical battle or live live in an "AMERIKA" or an "ARAB-ICA" .

Sad but true and elections have uncontrollable consiquences that will haunt us for the rest of our lives. This idiot is not eligible to be in office and they could care less. He is running us off the deep end and they could care less. Not one standing up and screaming at the top of their lungs to stop this and if we allow one of them to get re-elected then we deserve what is happening to us right now. Throw them all out.....
Permalink Reply by Lynda Fox on December 28, 2011 at 12:09pm Priorities are priorities!!! They are extremely busy at frolicking on vacation on OUR tax dollars. They couldn't care less what WTP think....they're all aglow at how much they were able to steal from US this year.
Permalink Reply by Barry Gabrielson on December 28, 2011 at 12:18pm Jimmy. Why should the President or Congress care about creating an out of control debt? Its not their money, why should they care? Why have a debt limit? Why not ask for 10T increase or 100T increase? No one cares about spending, including people who are in power today. Again, they can spend whatever they want, overspend with no consequences or accountability. What do We the People do to stop this? They have the power to do whatever they want. No such thing as a budget. Spend millions on vacations, have fun, pay off your friends in bribes and have a Royalty life without recourse. Who is going to stop them from spending us into bankrupcy? No one! No leaders, just followers. Why rock the boat, they all have great jobs with no responsibility, accountability or consequences. Those in power take no orders from anyone, especially not to the serfs and phobes that pay their salaries, perks, vacations and luxury. ITS GREAT TO BE KING BECAUSE THE KING HAS NO RULES TO FOLLOW!
Permalink Reply by Thomas on December 28, 2011 at 9:00am Hey, don't forget that this agreement involved another Mitch McConnel kowtow to Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. We haven't been sold down the river. We've been given away with nothing being received in exchange but the Republican Congressional "leadership" being granted buddy-buddy status by the Democrats in both Houses. PA-THET-IC.
Permalink Reply by Katie Kalpin on December 28, 2011 at 9:03am Ohhhhh now that should be fun! What a great way to send a message to all Republican canidates that we mean business. I say we do this! Boehner is a MORON! He is not a conservative nor is that other guy! (That was done out of disrespect.) They are Obama sell outs, they are scared of the left and what they will do to them, they are weak and belong with the left, they make Republicans look bad and I am sick of his white flag getting raised, he wont raise the American flag because it would out do his beloved White flag of surrender! He has got to go! NOWWWWWWWWW!!!!B
Permalink Reply by Scott Rutledge on December 28, 2011 at 9:03am Let's get real here. The "Either the GOP members of Congress listen now..." part has been - and continues to be - just a pipe dream. Seriously. We voted many of the sell-outs in a year ago, through OUR efforts, the sweat of OUR backs and brows and boots on the ground. And they STILL aren't "listening" to us, We the People...
Why on earth would they change now?!?
We need CHANGE. REAL change. Now. Both sides, all sides, all 3 houses.
We've got to get rid of Speaker Bone-head. And that McConnell rat bas#$%d too. They're absolutely KILLING us.
Permalink Reply by Scott Rutledge on December 28, 2011 at 9:09am One caveat/P.S. to this: One great, very cool thing HAS happened in 2011, amidst all of the other teeth-gnashing and brain-bashing frustration: Michelle Bachmann founded and has presided over the "Tea Party Caucus" in the House, which now counts itself as somewhere around 60 strong and faithful members of Congress. It's small, but hey, it's a start.
And huge kudos to Bachmann for having the stones and strength of her convictions to do it!

Permalink Reply by Katie Kalpin on December 28, 2011 at 10:06am I want Newt and Bachmann. We have allowed the liberals to do what they did to Sarah Palin, so now this wonderful woman has no chance, no one other than us really know who she is, what she is about and what she stands for. So I feel that if we have Newt as President, and Bachmann as VP, she is there, and if Newt tries to go back to the bad way's...(I don't think that he will ever do that.) Bachmann is there to put him back into place! She is a great leader and yes she is the Tea Party cacuas head, that's a good thing! But liberals hate strong women and they don't a woman in power! LIBERALS SUCK!!
Permalink Reply by Hank Richards on December 28, 2011 at 9:04am Hey Judson: That puts the Debt/GDP ratio above 100% and that's exactly the problem that the EUC is dealing with because all the countries forming the group broke the rules on exceeding GDP to borrowing ratio's. [The Rules Huh ?]
