February, even with a leap year, is the shortest month of the year. This February we ran up some amazing numbers. Unfortunately, the shortest month gave us one of the largest injuries to the economy.
What was it?
In February, the shortest month of the year, the Federal Government rang up the largest budget deficit in our history. In February, the deficit was $229 billion dollars.
These numbers have gotten to the point where they no longer faze anyone. We have become numb to them. We are now like the passengers on the Titanic, looking at the stern rising up into the air and starting to realize, as actor David Warner said in the movie “Titanic,” “you know, I do believe this ship may sink.”
Let’s put this in perspective. The Republicans lost control of the House and Senate in 2007. The last budget that was passed by a Republican Congress and signed by a Republican President was the fiscal year 2007 budget. When that budget year closed, our deficit was $161 billion.
Just in case we have forgotten, the last time the Republicans controlled Congress, unemployment was at 4.6 percent. In January 2007, the average price of regular gas was $2.18 a gallon.
Today we are burning through other people’s money at an unbelievable rate.
There is a reason for this. Obama and his cronies are hard-core socialists (or Marxists if you prefer). They have one objective. They want to destroy the free market system and replace it with the dictatorship of the proletariat.
The problem with what Obama wants to do is there are certain inevitable results. Socialism generates tyranny, poverty and far to often mass murder. The leading mass murderers of the last century were all socialists (with an honorable mention to the Turks for the Armenian genocide). Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol Pot were all socialists.
Unfortunately Obama, Pelosi and Reid are all enamored with an ideology that in the last century, either directly or indirectly has killed probably a billion people.
The deficits Obama and the Democrats are running are worse every month. Anyone with two functioning brain cells should be able to figure out the end result here. We will have a national economic collapse. America is not too big to fail and the policies of Barack Obama and the Party of Treason are not simply wrong. They have one specific objective.
They want to destroy the American economy.
If the American economy is destroyed, they can remake America in to the kind of socialist hellhole that they think we should be.
The problem with socialism is not as Margaret Thatcher said that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money. The problem with socialism is that in order to implement socialism, freedom and liberty must be destroyed.
America is the greatest, freest nation on the earth.
Unfortunately for Americans, we are like those passengers on the Titanic. If Obama and his party of socialists, American liberty will sink like the Titanic.
And unfortunately for Americans, like the Titanic, there will be no lifeboats for us. There will be no place left where the lamp of liberty still shines and where freedom rings.

The Roman Empire lasted at least 600 years, we didn't make it to 250, oh well, civilizations come and civilizations go. I see in the history books of the future we, or I should say, what was the United States of America, as the bad guy in the NEW World Socialist Order. It will be spun that the demise of a country is to give the people individual rights as in a 'Bill' and a Constitution to keep those rights. By doing so infest greed and individualism and by ridding our system of that scum, we now all can become equal. That's now the mind set of our country. BUT PEOPLE, please understand, in making and running our New World Socialist Order effectively, some will be more equal than others. Nothing to see here, move along.

I am a retired Cop, and a Bible believing Christian. I will NOT live under socialism. I am praying that this election will turn things around. If not, I fear violence will be the only way to stop those that would do evil to our country. I pray every day this will not need to happen. I am getting old but still have at least one good fight left in me. I am sure there there are millions of others out there just like me. I believe Obama and those like him have under estimated the resolve of the American People. Please join me in praying that we will not have to go to war to uphold the oath I took to Preserve, Protect, and Defend our Constitution.

Permalink Reply by Caleb White on March 9, 2012 at 9:29am I had once posted this before, but I thought it was particularly appropriate for this subject. My father is a retired CFO from the largest private hedge fund firm in the world, about a $140 billion in managed assets ( a behemoth in the industry). I asked him about all this wasteful spending that has been going on and why congress seems to be unable or unwilling to fix this economic mess we are in. He said that he and other financial consultants from his firm had a meeting last year with a few members of the Brookings Institute in efforts to go over the numbers that CBO had crunched with respect to the national debt. Their basic long-term assessment was that if Congress (particularly the Republicans) does not take steps now to come up with something concrete to curtail the current economic tailspin we are in, they concluded that by roughly 2060 this country will be completely finished. Moreover, they believe that the earliest when the crisis will start is about 2025-2030. In addition to that, was a major concern for a continued increase in jobless claims and the fear of 20 something year old men out of work which in turn would lead to inevitable civil unrest the likes of which we have witnessed in Greece but on a larger scale. He said their belief was that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans really know what they are doing with respect to the deficit because it is now so out of control. I think that is pretty evident in what we are seeing right now in Congress, and you outlined and highlighted some of that here on this post. Their assessment was that the Republicans would appear to have a more fiscally conservative approach to tackling this dilemma that would stand to benefit the growing debt than would the proposed tax and spending increases laid out by the Obama administration and his constituents in Congress; which is only adding to the destruction. The folks in congress don't understand money and finance the way people in the financial sector do, because they deal with it every day. In simple terms, that's why members in congress are in congress, and finance people are in finance. Deflation is also a major concern in the financial sector. It's gonna get scary folks.

What have each and every one of you done today to keep Obama off of the 2012 ballot?
Permalink Reply by mike pogreba on March 9, 2012 at 9:55am The Titantic as you say...has already hit the iceberg. It is already sunk.. There are many factors to blame, government being one of them. But the laziness and complacency of americans is to blame as well. If you don't want illegals, quit hiring them. If you don't like china, quit buying theirs stuff. Why do we need more laws? When politicians could vote themselves a raise and people, that are leeches on sociaty ,who don't own property and pay taxes are allowed to vote, what do you think is going to happen?! We have let women and women minded men take over this country...we are so into our touchy, feely side that we won't punish criminals, we don't expect people to work, we won't allow God in our schools or public buildings for fear of offending someone. We raise our kids, spoiling them rotten, never expecting them to work, refusing to spank and teaching them that the whole world revolves around them. This is what the liberal movement brought us. Now there are more of them than there are of us..good luck with the whole voting thing.
I do not think this mess we are in can be fixed at the polls...I hope that I am wrong.
