At a time when the economy is in the gutter and many Americans are either curtailing or cancelling vacations, you would think the first family would be sensitive to their plight.

 

Not so.

 

From the Daily Mail:

 

The Obamas' summer break in Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets.

 

But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.

White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

 

Branding her 'disgusting' and 'a vacation junkie', they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

 

 

The 'top source' told the National Enquirer: 'It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.

'When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10million in taxpayers' money on her vacations.'

 

 

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.

And the first family's nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

 

The source continued: 'Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines.

 

'The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans.'

 

 

 

Is anyone else outraged?

 

This is typical of the liberals and their sense of entitlement.  You would think the Obama’s might show a little more concern because not only is it their policies that have put America in this bind, but an election is coming up.

 

As Congress scrounges for money to cut from the budget, I have a suggestion.  The first cut should be the Obama’s travel budget.

It's all part of the grand plan to collapse the US economy.  You can't rebuild it according to your desires until you collapse what it is at present.  She's just doing her part, making her contribution or shall I say withdrawals.

Both of Them, Michella Gorilla and "The Obama" live It up as though They were the "First Family" of some "Third World" Basket Case Nation in Africa or Central and/or South America.

For Someone Who is "Finally Proud of My Country" She does not seem at all bashful about helping Herself to ALL of the "perks".

Well how 'bout It Michella Gorilla, do You still feel America is a "Downright mean Country"?

It would seem America and Her Taxpayers (the ones that are left) are allowing You the "Royal" treatment.

Amelda Marcos would be salivating and drooling to be in Your position.

Nothing will ever change until we the people change it. We need to send letters of retirement to all in congress and the white House. Include in the letter the following statement, if they do not show where their own money was used on personal items and vacations, then they are FIRED, ASAP

when they say Michelle likes expensive booze they mean expensive. She drinks wine that runs $100.00 per glass.  They did not even include all of the women who work for her which I believe is over 100 when other first Ladies have averaged 3 personal attendants.

Chances are they will continue to spend on luxuries while his hold on the office isn't yet in jeopardy and then next year they will curtail it somewhat in feigned empathy for the rest of us.  I don't know why anyone is surprised that these two presumably educated clowns are taking advantage of the system, it's their entire history and they hit the jackpot. I hope the black people that praised the heavens and wept in awe when he became president have noticed he includes damned few of them in anything, for example, his latest campaign effort was to white mid-west small towns and not to the black inner cities; there's an easy explanation, he can count on the black vote but has to pander for the white vote.  The entire nation is holding its breath hoping he leaves office next year while the media and many of the so-called elite are praying to a deity they don't believe in for a miracle that will keep him in office.  It's a sad state of affairs that the political class is playing out this farce as if there is no question about Obama's qualifications, credibility and capability while it's a major concern for the rest of us. One question, if circumstances arise that keep him from running again, do the Democrats have another common Chicago street hustler in the wings?

Hopefully this excess will only last 16 more months.  I can understand White House staff, bodyguards, travel, etc.  Vacations should meet some type of budget- not bottomless!  Hope America won't be as naive as many of Wisconsin's voters!
