The left specializes in last minute gotchas. They love to put out last minute stories right before an election that damage conservatives, even if they are not true. The beauty of that tactic is that by the time the election rolls around, the damage is done and the conservative does not have time to undo the damage.
Liberals just tried to do this to Scott Walker but oops, it fell apart.
The story came from something called the Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op. With a name like that, you can guess the quality of the stories they are producing.
The story is that in 1988, when Scott Walker was a freshman at Marquette University, he got his girlfriend pregnant. According to the story, Walker went from being a supportive boyfriend to an absolute jerk, accusing this poor girl of cheating on him because he was not the father.
The source of the story was not the ex-girlfriend but a friend of the ex-girlfriend. The friend, a woman named Bernadette Gillick is now a university professor. Hmmm, I wonder which way her politics go?
The co-op claimed it could not find Walker’s ex-girlfriend to verify the story.
The Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op celebrated its story. It had something on Scott Walker.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper followed up on the story. They found the woman and surprise, the woman is very adamant that Scott Walker was not the father of her child.
Oops.
The left is so desperate to get Scott Walker and defeat him in Wisconsin, they are willing to grab onto anything. The left wing smear merchants like the Daily Kos jumped all over it.
Then the real journalists at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel got a hold of the story. He found the woman and she denied that Walker was the father.
End of story.
Except for the left that continues to try and push the story, even though they know it is not true.
This is the desperation of the left. Scott Walker and the Republicans have dismantled the public funding of the left wing machine in Wisconsin. The left is desperate to get back into power so they can restore their funding. This is why Wisconsin is so important.
If we win in Wisconsin, we can break that back of the far left groups that use money they get from the government to fund their activities. If we lose in Wisconsin, it will be a message to less courageous legislators and governors everywhere.
Don’t mess with the left.
This is one battle we cannot afford to lose.

If he were to fight Obama with Obama fire bombs, he would win easily.
Unions all have dirty money. Follow the money. Find the dirty money. Call foul plan on Election.
Big black busses of Obama flown around in C17 AF.
For politicing and boot licking.
I call that un accounted for expense of Campaign.
We need a SCOTUS stance on this.
Permalink Reply by LaV Wood on June 5, 2012 at 2:37pm Commendations to the journalists at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel who quickly researched, and reported their findings on, this attempt to influence an election, based on accusations! These journalists should be rewarded, promoted, and paraded as exceptional examples of the job of a "journalist!"
The American people have lost SO much because the media and journalists are more interested in advancing a philosophy and agenda than serious reporting. Hopefully, this accusation, tossed out there to swirl around like a tornado until election day had passed, will have minimal effect thanks to the quick, thorough work of these people doing their job! I've never even been to Wisconsin, but, I thank you!

Schmitz on June 5, 2012 at 3:21pm My sister-in-law received a mailer over the weekend which listed the names, addresses and voting records (not who, but if and when) of a large number of people in the Milwaukee area. The mailer encouraged people to look up their neighbors and encourage them to go out and vote. The MIlwaukee Journal/Sentinel is reporting that the mailers were sent by the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund, an anti-Walker PAC. The story also reports that requests for comments from this group are being ignored. While I acknowledge that voter rolls are public records, how, or even if, anyone votes is no one's business. JSOnline (the Journal/Sentinel website) allows comments, and, not surprisingly, the anti-Walker crowd is generally saying either that this is nothing more than a Republican dirty trick or voter records are public records and if you don't like your voting history sent to everyone, get over it.
