As the Party of Socialism tries to convince the GOP that is it not the Party of Reagan, but the Party of Surrender, Harry Reid is desperately searching for sixty votes in the Senate so he can get his “I want to destroy the American economy bill” passed.
Can it be passed?

Senate Democrats started Saturday short of the 60 votes needed to advance Majority Leader Harry Reid’s plan to raise the debt ceiling, setting the stage for frantic hours of negotiations before the threat of default early next week. Senior officials in both parties believe that Reid’s latest plan — which would allow President Barack Obama to raise the debt limit in two separate stages of $1.2 trillion each without congressional approval and slash up to $2.4 trillion over the next decade — appeared unlikely to break a filibuster early Sunday morning — a vote currently scheduled for 1 a.m. ET. That means Reid will spend Saturday, wooing a handful of Republican senators and in talks with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in the hopes of finding enough GOP support to break the logjam in the Senate. It’s far from clear what will happen before Tuesday, when the Treasury warns the government will run out of money and begin to default on its bills, something that would roil the world’s economy.

For Reid to be able to invoke cloture and stop a filibuster, Reid needs sixty votes. There are 53 Democrats. So Reid needs to be able to either work a compromise with Mitch McConnell or pick off seven Republicans so he can move forward.
Senator Scott Brown who gratefully accepted Tea Party help to win and then promptly spit on the people who got him into office, has already announced he will back Reid. One down, six to go.
Some of the RINOs, like Susan Collins of Maine, will probably defect. But even then, there is no guarantee Reid can come up with the sixty votes he needs. Adding to this, there is the outside chance a Democrat could be picked off to vote against Reid. There are four Democrats in swing or mostly Republican states that are up for reelection in 2012. They are Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jon Testor of Montana, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Bill Nelson of Florida. Even one defection from the Democratic side could doom the Reid plan.
So what are we waiting for?

We can fight back this weekend. We must let our Senators know that we do not want Harry Reid to bankrupt this country. We do not want Barack Obama wrecking our economy.

He was pilloried, and rightly he should have been, for the Cornhusker kickback scam he got for his vote on the health care debacle. We'll have to see if he caves for another 30 pieces of silver and another kickback.
You KNOW it's going to be happening. Ole Harry is going to be twisting arms and bribing like nobody's business. Promises made and promises kept for 60 votes.
I just wish the Republicans would just flip Odrama et al off and let the chips fall where they may. After all, airplanes have not been falling out of the sky without the FAA.

Did any of these people even flip though the Constitution?? This is yet another violation of it. When they passed the bill to allow obozo the power to apoint I called Kit Bond my senator in MO and asked why they hell he supported it and was told he feels he can use it to get bigger things. I asked the women on the phone in the Constitution does it say how to amend it?? And she said yes i t does. I said then how do they think violating the Constitution makes this good, I recieved no answer. I then told her that the 535 pluse the executive brance is the problem with America and that they ALL needed to be removed and hung up I could see I would get no where. It makes no difference who we talk to they just do not care.
They ALL need to be removed, we may have to pry their asses out of their seats but we have to do just that.
As for ole harry, lets all start calling all of them and giving them an ear full, or perhaps a road trip with a few thousand Tea Party people to make sure they get the point.

Those People the likes of Reid, Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Durbin, do not realize that there exist a faction, group, demographic that WILL sooner or later take the situation as It exits, "The Status Quo", if You will, and WILL change IT one way or another, i.e. the easy way via the ballot box or the hard and horribly nasty way via the bullet. It has happened before.
You are being served notice. We advise You and You know Who You are not to become too comfortable in Your smug and arrogant attitude relative to "True Conservative Americans".
Remember for instance the Fascist and failed Government of Musolini and His Wife hanging by Their ankles in some Italian city square. The thoroughly corrupt regime of the Romanian Ruler Coucescu and His Wife gunned down, hastily after a rather short legal deliberation on Their behalf.
You have fooled MANY People, mostly the truly ignorant, stupid, uneducated and unambitious and THEY are ALL addicted to the miserable existence You have managed to subject Them to, all payed for by the American Taxpayer.
Sooner than You think, We WILL I think CHANGE Your attitude toward We the Taxpayers.
Then You will I think, fear Us.
That will happen when the hate and utter contempt We feel and harbor for YOU now, is transformed into action.
