Less than 24 hours have passed since Newt Gingrich convincingly won South Carolina. The RINO establishment has been going nuts since then.
Every major RINO has been coming unglued this morning at the prospect that Newt Gingrich the scrappy conservative might beat liberal Mitt Romney and become the GOP nominee.
The formerly conservative and now snotty Ann Coulter got snarky early this morning on Fox and Friends, sniffing that Republicans were throwing away the chance to win just so they could have Gingrich throw zingers out at Obama.
Really? How about a little proof that liberal Mitt Romney can win? That of course is about as realistic as the chances of a real Democratic tax cut.
RINO Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin absolutely lost it in her tweets last night. Today she penned an open letter to the RINO establishment begging them to get someone to stop the conservative. After all, the RINO establishment would rather see four more years of Obama than they would see conservatives take control of the party again.
Fred Barnes quickly got on the Weekly Standard to give Mitt Romney the advice he would need to beat Newt Gingrich.
Get a big idea. The only reason people like Newt is because of big ideas.
Fred, here is a clue. The fact the ideas are big is a bonus. We like it because Newt actually has ideas. We like the fact Newt is a leader.
Newt understands something none of these RINOs do not. He understands what real Americans understand.
We say things like, “Government is not the solution, it is the problem.” “The problem with Washington is it takes too much, does too much, rules too much.” “Washington spends too much money.” “We are taxed enough already.”
For conservatives, these words have meaning. These are principles we live by. These are truths that are self-evident and problems that we must correct.
Freedom and liberty are words we live by. They are not punch lines for jokes or simply an arcane liturgy that must be recited for the great unwashed masses.
RINOs simply laugh at conservatives, like liberals do.
Like liberals, they think they are superior to the folks who live in real America.
RINOs gave us John McCain and the big spending Republican congresses that all but killed the Republican Party. It was the real Americans who are members of the Tea Party that brought the Republican Party back from the edge of extinction.
We have some news for you RINOs. This is our year, not yours. We saved the party you almost destroyed. You can sit down and get out of the way.
This is the year of the Conservative, not the RINO.

I'm no RINO and I disagree. Mitt Romney is no liberal and in some ways better than Gringrich. Let's not forget Gringrich made the "Obama spread the wealth argument" with his Bain video and then mocking Mitt for paying his taxes with "Mitt Romney Flat Tax"---As if Romney was against lowering taxes. Gringrich threw Paul Ryan under the bus and sat with Pelosi in pushing cap and trade 2 years ago. Gringrich really hasn't answered Fannie and Freddie lobbying question--Team Obama will attack this as hard as Mitt's wealth.
I haven't decided yet and am glad the contest goes on. I really feel Newt is the better spokesperson for conservatives but Mitt is the better candidate. It is hard to ignore that MItt has put togather the better campaign. He has more money, super pac and taking care of business (Getting on the Virginia ballot). Gringrich as leader of his campaign came with none of the latter. It doesn't speak well of Gringrich as an executive. It is also equally hard to ignore that Mitt has not been able to stand up and articulate for Free Enterprise or his own financial success with out looking weak and apologetic but Mitt has sounded well when Attacking Obama.
Gringrich to me is the bully that Mitt must vanquish to show he's ready for Alexrod and team Obama. If Mitt can't do that, I'll take the best spokesperson which is Gringrich.
Saying that Gringrich is the only conservative in the race is ludicrous. All the remaining candidates execpt Santorum have been lacking on social conservatism. On the fiscal matters Ron Paul is the most conservative followed in particular order Gringrich, Romney and Santorum. I would take all four of them over Obamal.
Gringrich has not only personal baggage but very ass like personality which will not serve him well in the general.

Permalink Reply by Derek Weygandt on January 23, 2012 at 2:00am I'm so glad to hear other Conservatives call out Ann Coulter. She does not carry the Conservative banner for me any more! Fox is propaganda--neo-con, war mongering shills for the NWO.
Permalink Reply by Victor F. Andrews on January 22, 2012 at 5:07pm AMEN! I think Newt is the candidate most capable of winning in November - all true conservatives would be jazzed enough to show up in big numbers. Romney's nomination would only encourage, a who cares my vote does not count anyway attitude, along with a strong libertarian or third party candidate that would likely give the White House back to B.O. I shutter to think such things! Newt not only would mop up the debate floor with B.O. but he would very importantly excite the southern conservative base, possibly sweeping the south and mid west in November.
