As we sail through the Great Obama Depression, the Democrats are doing nothing except trying to brand the Republicans, the Tea Party and conservatism in general as the “Party of No.”

We are in fact the “Party of yes.”

Why are we the “Party of yes?”

We have the answer to the Great Obama Depression.  We know how to say yes to the ideas that will solve the problem.

Obama does not want us to say yes, because he does not want to see a recovery.  His vision of America is not of a rich and prosperous America.  In fact, his vision of America is just the opposite.  His vision of America is of a poor, almost impoverished nation that is not an economic superpower.

We conservatives want to say yes to the greatness of America.

How do we get America back on the path of economic greatness?

It actually would take two steps to get it started.

The first step is major tax cuts across the board.  Abolish the capital gains tax.  Liberals shriek when you say that.  “How will you pay for the tax cuts?”  They wail.

The answer is, tax cuts are not something that is paid for.  The money belongs to the people.  A new building is something that is paid for.

However, the reality of life is that every time taxes are cut, tax revenues go up.  Why?  Because tax cuts stimulates economic activity.  Tax cuts work and they work every time.  Kennedy cut taxes.  The economy boomed.  Reagan cut taxes and the economy boomed.  Bush cut taxes and does anyone remember six years ago when unemployment was 4.6%?   Does anyone remember the Republicans’ last budget?  The deficits had been steadily shrinking and the deficit for 2007, their last budget year was only $161 billion.

Why eliminate the capital gains tax?  Again that is another one that is fun to throw out just because it will make liberal’s heads explode.   Cutting the capital gains tax encourages investment.  Investment creates new jobs.  This is a concept so simple, even a liberal should be able to figure it out.  The fact that liberals cannot figure this one simple point of economics out should be enough proof to disqualify them from any decision more significant than deciding what is going to be on the TV tonight.

The second step is equally simple.  Cut spending.

Cutting spending is easier said than done.  It is even tough with allegedly conservative Republicans stepping up to protect their turf and their favorite projects.

For the last few weeks, I have repeatedly blogged about an idea from Louisiana Congressman John Fleming.  It is his Federal Realignment and Closure Commission.    Spending can be cut by eliminating wasteful programs.  We can break the mechanism career politicians use to protect their programs with the FRCC.

This worked with the military.  For years, the Pentagon could not close bases they did not even need or want because Congressmen protected bases in their district.  The Base Realignment and Closure Commission prevented Congressmen, even those with massive seniority and those who were powerful committee chairs from stopping closures.  The same thing can and should be done with the Federal Government.

Last year, the GOA identified hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud, waste and duplicated services.  These programs need to be cut.

Economists tell us that once debt hits about 80% of a nation’s GDP, it becomes a drag on the economy.  We are already over 100%.  We are following the route of most of the European nations.  Their plight should be a warning to us that this is not the way to go.

If six friends of yours jump from a twenty-foot wall and break their legs, what makes you think you will have any different result?  This is what the Obama Regime either does not get or the willfully want America to fail.

If we cut taxes to stimulate our economy, thus growing revenue and cutting our spending, we can start to get our debt under control and pull out of the economic death spiral Barack Obama and the Party of Treason want to put us in.

This is great information Judson, but unless we the people step forward and insist that all of this gets accomplished, we're just spinning our wheels. Obama wants us to fail, the Old Republican Establishment wants us to barely exist and the people want a prosperous productive Nation again.

I cannot disagree with anything you wrote.  I do enjoy the idea that we would all unite around the various ideas that not only help America but also make Liberal's heads "explode" at the very thought of accepting principles and approaches with are both CLEARLY TRUE and HIGHLY EFFECTIVE.  However, as Marcia suggests, we need to find some ways for these thoughts to start getting us some traction; some dag gone Diesel Powered knobby tired 4 wheel drive low low gears, to grab a hold of the people in office and/or the American people and start dragging these ideas towards full and immediate IMPLEMENTATION.  So, I would suggest we somehow inspire something like an ad campaign by Romney and/or the Republican candidates (ALL of them):  whereby they use some kind of a highly effective drum to beat.  For example:

How about an add like this........on TV:

Start with the sound of a person breathing, and then add the sounds of a key board, and then start bringing in a computer monitor that is fuzzy, and increase the speed and volume of the breathing and then go back to a more clear computer monitor and then make the breathing really loud and really fast and then show them this:

Then, put this across the bottom of the screen, ending with super LOUD breathing:

Just off the top of my head, when I wrote about a military dog program that needed $750,000 a year, I suggested the money could  come from unnecessary places that I saw in my visits to Washington, DC. Close the old National Aquarium in the Commerce Building (there's a much bigger and fancier National Aquarium in Baltimore's Inner Harbor). Close the Post Office Museum (that's a redundant phrase) on prime real estate across the street from Union Station in DC. Close the small Forestry Museum just west of the huge Agriculture Dept. buildings facing the National Mall. Who comes to Washington to look at fish, postage stamps, and forest exhibits?

Thanks.

After years of listening to the rational and calm reasoning imploring that we all need to work together and just get along, I have reached an inescapable conclusion.  There is no reasoning with a rabid dog.  There can be no rational compromise with the irrational mind of many many democrats.  Attempting to reason with a mind that is so imbalanced that there is no core that is common to form a basis for negotiation, is tantamount to attempting a discussion with a concrete wall.  People who open discussions with concrete walls and continue to articulate reasonable solutions in the face of dull dead immovable concrete are, by definition, insane.  Continuing along a repeated line of attempting to persuade a concrete wall of the logic of anything is both a waste of time and indicative of something more serious.

Democrats must be defeated.  They cannot be reasoned with.  There is no merit, no future, and no reason to try and reason with a set of minds that define illogical, unreasonable, and dangerous ideologies and destructive practices.  Doctor Michael Savage has liberalism correctly described liberalism as a mental disorderhttp://www.amazon.com/Liberalism-Mental-Disorder-Savage-Solutions/d... ).

For years, I laughed off Savage's notion and his book as unreasonable and just too far over the top.  But, I kept watching and listening and seeking after other explanations that were less troubling and more "reasonable" that would explain why many very liberal democrats hold the positions that they insist are the only way to think, govern, and live life.  After these many years of seeking such explanations that would refute the drastic conclusion Savage reached, I have to admit abject failure in identifying any better explanation than Savage succinctly concluded as the sad reality of liberalism.

Many individuals have a wide set of opinions and values on various subjects.  The labels of "liberal" and "conservative" are really just one word summations of the overall position and attitude.  The other confusing element in this is that some ideas can seem part of the general "liberal" mind set, yet be actually conservative in detail.  The best general example of this is also the easiest to understand.  It is "liberal" to be an environmentalist, or generally thought of as such.  Yet, it is really conservative to want to "conserve" the environment, protecting it from harm and destruction.  The difference is in how the environment is protected, restored, or otherwise conserved for our generation and generations to come.

As a Christian, I believe the good Lord placed us on this planet to take advantage of its resources, husband its restorative processes, improve and repair its wounds, and insure that it continues to be a neatly kept home.  No one wins if the planet is destroyed in the name of "progress" of short run and poorly thought out plunder.  It is common knowledge that good forestry helps the planet, grows more trees that nature would herself, and provides products and profits that humans can benefit by immensely.  The insanity of many liberals reasons that man is the problem and the planet is better off without humans.  Cartoon like examples of this philosophy abound.  Liberal activist and talented movie producer and director, James Cameron, created a smash hit fully animated and integrated block buster movie that beat the drum of liberal reasoning about nature and man.  Cameron's AVATAR film was an icon of the liberal mind set that man is always a plunderer, evil in heart, and a despoiler of this planet.

The problem is that Cameron creates a simple minded model that belies the real truth.  That truth is that humans are much smarter than he imagines.  Liberals think of themselves as AVATAR beings that know best and better.  They are always smarter, more attune to the vibrations of mother earth, and generally self appointed paragons of virtue with a mission to lead the simple minded conservative thinker into the progressive nirvana of a liberal utopian paradise.  They also see the alternative of any failure on their part to be the elimination of the pesky species known as human kind.  Since many of them are either atheist or agnostic or believers in a disconnected universal "force" (as noted in the Star Wars series of films), they consider the idea or notion that the Christian Bible has in describing the Earth as having been created for man, as a complete canard and egoistic position of a lesser "evolved" set of humans as they themselves are.

Bottom line, we need to defeat them completely.  They cannot be reasoned with.  They (the liberal minded) are stuck in time.  As Winston Churchill stated:  If you are not liberal in your twenties, you have no heart.  If you are not conservative after your thirties and forties, you have no head.  Churchill's characterization is one of evolution.  Many liberals never evolved passed twenty and are still stuck in time even if they are in their senior years.

We are the party of YES.  The TEA Party movement is the party of progress through conservative principles and well thought out solutions to problems.  Unfortunately, the liberal herd that just occupied Washington D.C. has left a mess as do all "occupy" movements.  It is imperative that we clean up this mess and keep the "occupy" children out of the seat of government for as long as possible and into the next century if possible.  Otherwise we will see the AVATARs of liberalism destroy this nation, the planet, and the future for generations to come.

"The first step is major tax cuts across the board. Abolish the capital gains tax." ---- NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!! This doesn't change ANYTHING! We'd still be stuck in the muck of 75000 pages of a tax code NO ONE understands. If you want true tax reform pass the FairTax, www.FairTax.org., and watch prosperity explode in this country.

Bob, it has been proven time and again that cutting tax rates releases capital money into the private sector, which stimulates the economy and results in MORE tax revenue.

Your idea of cleaning up the tax code is commendable, but it would take months/years to accomplish that.

An immediate decrease in rates would cause an IMMEDIATE increase in the economy.

Ultimately, we need to do both, but we must start with immediate tax cuts to save our economy from Obama's disastrous plans to destroy our country's economy.

Doesn't sound like you've heard of the FairTax. John. We're not talking about "cleaning up the tax code. We're talking about eliminating it. Suggest you spend a few minutes at www.FairTax.org. Then come back to me.

that plan creates a national sales tax, [horrific idea] and perpetuates federal revenue FAR ABOVE constitutional levels. Moreover it assumes everyone pays both a minimum income tax and payroll tax currently ... which is simply untrue.

Horrible plan Bob. Far better plans already out there.

Your presumption that I haven't researched the so-called Fair Tax is incorrect.

The idea sounds great.

People like it because it promises to get rid of the IRS.  Unfortunately, that is untrue. In order to administer the "Prebate", we would still need the IRS to keep track of EVERY CITIZEN FROM BABIES ON UP.

Everyone would be required to report every birth and  death to the IRS, so that your correct Prebate Check could be computed and sent to you each and every month.

The idea of the Prebate was added to the Fair Tax just in the last few years, when the inventors realized that taxing everyone 28% on every purchase would not fly.

If you think that Social Security is an administrative nightmare, just try to figure how people will react to the IRS and the Prebate Check, and the 28% sales tax (especially on your home sales, or when you make a private sale of your car).

The people who are pushing the Fair Tax have as much chance with it, as the Ron Paul people have trying to get people excited about abolishing the Fed.

If we abolish the Fed, Congress will just find another way to borrow money.

All these magic panaceas are just more "Pie In The Sky".

Let's get back to basics  -- Lower Taxes, Less Spending, Smaller Government.

Regarding your prebate comment first of all the IRS will disappear. As for keeping tract of every citizen it is already in place with the SSN which would be required to collect a prebate. The prebate would not be issued without filling an annual report. As for the 28% it is only on retail (not used) items. If you sell your car or your house no tax to the buyer. I still don't think you understand the FairTax John. Your commentary shows your lack of understanding. And that is the problem we have. It's not the politicians or the IRS I fear in this battle. Although I have personally heard many IRS agents agree with the FairTax concept. It is the lack of understanding of the concept by the common folk such as yourself that could bring a brilliant idea to it's death. I really hope you open your mind to the possibility that this idea may just be the right idea to save our Republic.

Births and deaths are not YEARLY events. They are MONTHLY events, just like the Prebate Check.

Don't accuse me of not researching the Fair Tax. There are plenty of Fair Tax people who advocate the tax on all home sales and used car sales.

When we are dealing with the abysmal level of math achievement in our public schools, how in the world are you going to explain to those people why they should start paying a 28% Federal sales tax PLUS their existing State, County, and City Sales Taxes?

The whole idea of the Fair Tax is a convoluted, complex wet dream.

The Flat Tax, as proposed by Forbes, is simple and straightforward, and does not require a huge IRS to administer it.
