One of the left’s favorite screams is that conservatives are trying to silence them. The funning thing is, it is always the other way around.
One conservative recently found this out.
From the Hollywood Reporter:
A controversy erupted in a small Montana town after a high school principal prevented Oscar winner Gerald Molen from delivering his planned speech because he's "a right-wing conservative."
Gerald Molen won a best picture Oscar for co-producing Schindler’s List with Steven Spielberg and has produced such Hollywood blockbusters as the first two Jurassic Park films and Twister. He’s a former U.S. Marine and is a sought-after motivational speaker.
So he’s not accustomed to being shunned.
Such was the case, though, when he was invited to speak to the graduating class at a Montana high school. But upon arriving, was told by the principal he would not be allowed to deliver the speech he had prepared.
The reason, he believes, is politics.
Molen is one of those rare conservatives in Hollywood (he’s even making a documentary called 2016, based on the Dinesh D’Souza book The Roots of Obama’s Rage) and because of that, he says, Ronan High School principal Tom Stack decided to disinvite him -- and he didn’t tell him so until after Molen made the 90-minute drive from his home in Bigfork, Mont.
Unlike Hollywood, Ronan isn’t exactly a hotbed of liberalism (its state representative is a Republican), still, Molen says that Stack told him straight up that he wouldn’t be allowed to address the students because he was “a right-wing conservative.”
“He said some callers didn’t want the kids exposed to that, despite not knowing what my message would be,” Molen told The Hollywood Reporter.
Stack did not return several calls seeking comment, nor did representatives from the Ronan School District.
Can we say major hypocrisy alert?
Not only to liberals outnumber conservatives about 10-1 on the college graduation circuit and on the college speaking circuit, when was the last time you saw a liberal being blocked from speaking because of his or her political beliefs?
If you can find an example of this please let me know.
When conservatives go on college campuses, the left goes nuts. Conservatives are threatened. Liberals will show up at the conservative speaker’s event and disrupt the event to the point where a conservative cannot even speak.
When was the last time that happened to a liberal speaker?
Principle Tom Stack should be fired. No reprimand. No discussion. He should be sacked Monday morning.
We conservatives are too easy going. When the left does things like this, we need to step up. Conservatives should call the school board in Ronan Montana and demand that Stack be fired. We should call the state legislature in Montana and demand an explanation of this.
These events happen all the time and we conservatives just ignore them and move on. It is time for our turning the other cheek to stop.
It is time for us to stand up.

Permalink Reply by JOHN DELASAUX on June 8, 2012 at 4:00pm 1. Call the Ronan Chamber of Commerce at 406-676-8300, and let them know what a negative image this school principal gives to Montana.
2. Email the school superintendent, Andy.Holmlund, and give him some suggestions. (andy.holmlund@ronank12.edu)
3. Submit a Letter to the Editor at http://helenair.com/app/contact/letters_to_editor/, to the newspaper at the capital, Helena, Montana.

Permalink Reply by Lizzie on June 8, 2012 at 3:34pm Liberals have discovered it usually only takes a few of them, and a little whining, to get their way. If necessary, they'll tantrum; but more often than not, a few complaints is all it takes. It requires an adult to rise above the momentary discomfort of the noise and refuse to grease the squeaky wheels.
Permalink Reply by John Schuh on June 8, 2012 at 4:16pm School administration, as the writer Martin Mayer noted way back in the early ‘60s is a form of appointive politics. Whatever the political complexion of the community, they are always afraid of contraversy. It takes only a few phone calls to spook them. Add to this that they are seldom the sharp tack in the box, in my part of the nation usually an ex-coach who is looking for peace and quiet after an unsuccessful career.
