The old guard has got to go, or November, 2012 will be a disaster.

The old guard gave us wonders like John McCain and Bob Dole, almost without asking for a show of hands to see if anyone else was interested in the job.  GW Bush was no great prize either.

Between watching McCain flail his arms, Bob Dole fall off the stage and talk about himself in the third person, and cringing every time Bush tried to make use of the English language, I wondered if maybe the GOP was actually run by the Democrats.

What will replace the old guard?  We will!  Conservancy in its purest forms will replace this watered-down, moderate, mish-mash that allows middle-of-the-road people like Mitt Romney can be nominated.

How can we do this?

Actually, I think we ARE doing this with greater success than we think we are.  Maybe the better question should be...

How long will this take?

American politics moves in extremely slow motion in phases that require four years to complete.  Make no mistake, the movement has begun.  If not in this election, then certainly by 2016 the Tea Party will either have a true conservative in the White House, or we will be an emerging third party and the GOP will be rendered impotent like several other parties in the nation's history.

The old guard should read that last statement very carefully.  This is not something new.  They can and will be replaced by leaders like Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum that are willing to do the will of the people before their own.

We are not going away!  We are only gaining momentum.  Just on this site, for example, in the last two months I have watched our numbers grow.  The level of activity on these blogs has sometimes had our service provider's file server computers smoking.  We're growing!  And, with nearly every new member here, the GOP likely loses one.

Sooner or later, even the stodgy, old goats that currently make the decisions behind the scenes in the GOP must take notice. Already we have had significant and undeniable impact in the Congress with the budget debates.  And, even if we do not succeed in electing a Tea Party candidate, then there is the hope for a Tea Party-led Congress that must stand against Barack Obama or Mitt Romney.  If that happens, then sobeit!

It appears that the media and the GOP are about to push Mitt romney to the forefront.  Romney who brought us such brilliant bits of statesmanship like not caring about the poor man, refusing for reveal is finances, being glad to be able to fire people, and stashing his cash, and who cannot take Obama to task on ObamaCare, will be made to look like a fool by the Teleprompter-in-Chief.

Imagine that, being bested by a man whose best effort is to read what others tell him to read...

Mitt Romney...simply the latest in the long line of GOP failures!

Anybody but Romney. Congratulations to Santorum for these huge wins.

I have to disagree on one point, 300,000 more unemployed as opposed to 350,000 is NOT an improvement. It just means the economy is heading off a cliff at 92 mph instead of 95. On the rest I agree with you. To call it slowly improving is to support the Lemmocrat spin. It's more like the death spiral is slowing a tiny bit.

If we don't get that clock running backwards, America will fall within 20 - 30 years.

Downy,

What is most important is not necessarily that we have more voters, though that is a priority.  It is rather that we have more and better representation as conservatives.  We need conservatism to be better represented.  The ones that we elect need themselves to believe as we do.  Then the numbers will come.  Right now there is not much differecnce between both sides of the middle, so why would voters care how they vote?

Jeff

There is no dearth of talent, articulation and fervor on these pages. Fervor and knowledge may not feather too well as yet but it will come. Many of us are as babies coming forth from the new birth of freedom. If we speak the truth as we see it, the word will go forth.

I agree...

I've never been so active politically in my life as I am now.  We're all new to this!  Rarely does one live in a country whose constitution is under fire from its own government and revolution half the time seems to be right around the corner.

Well said dean. . .

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.

All the more reason we must continue to Stand Up, Speak Out and Fight Back (with the truth, not with violence of course :-)

Nancy

Violence is  worthy of examination, the sooner the better. IMO we are being primed for it now as part of the bigger socialist plan. OWS was a test run. Obama praised it.Pelosi called it organic (with a strait face) The media "knowingly" discussed it and some called it class warfare.Glenn Beck predicted it.We have been warned.

In every single primary election, so far, the majority of people have voted for someone other than Mitt Romeny(Mr. Obama light)

Then there is still hope!

I agree with you that if obama is re-elected he will be greatly weakened. My concern is that since it would be his last term in office he will be free to do whatever he pleases and use exucitive privilege to enact what legislation he wants. With his absolute contempt for the Constitution, congress, and the rule of law he can do a lot of damage to this country without fear of reprisal. I will vote for whoever is left standing on our side, but would be a lot more comfortable with a true conservative.

Obama is weakened no matter what!  His assault on religion has laid bare all that he is.

This will hurt him...period.  Because of this, he may not have any chance of winning!

Let's wait and see what the poll numbers do...
