The internet war for freedom: Another conservative voice silenced

In case you are not aware of it, there is a massive war being fought in cyberspace.  No, this is not the Chinese hacking American systems.  But this one is just as vital.  The far left is doing its best to silence conservative voices on the Internet.  One of the major battlefields right now is twitter where conservatives are being silenced by having their accounts suspended for no reason.  High profile conservatives are getting their accounts reinstated.  Others are not so lucky.

Now another conservative voice has had his blog shut down by Google.

From Breitbart.com.

(The article was written by Christian Browne)

The New York Conservative was a blog hosted by Google Blogger. I started the blog in February of this year and had posted 17 columns prior to the KSM entry, commenting on political matters and issues affecting the Catholic Church. I would post my entries on Facebook and occasionally would email a link to friends or other interested parties. I received no complaints about the blog whatsoever.

On Monday, the pro-U.S. security group Secure American Now posted a link to my KSM piece on its website. The link received numerous hits and generated multiple comments on the Secure America Now page.

However, a few hours after Secure America Now linked to the New York Conservative, I received a form email, no reply possible, from Google Blogger informing me that the New York Conservative had been deleted. The email classified my blog as “spam” in violation of Google’s terms of service. There was no further explanation. My URL was dead; all of the content, everything I ever posted, was gone.

I made two telephone calls to Google to protest and demand a reason for the deletion of my blog. The Google representatives told me that Google does not provide “live support” for Google Blogger, meaning you cannot speak with anyone at all about the deletion. The representatives directed me to the Google Blogger website, where the company extols its commitment to free speech and its great reluctance to censor its bloggers.

Obviously, I do not know why Google deleted my blog, but it's awfully odd that The New York Conservative was summarily executed after a post in which I called for the summary execution of KSM. Could it be that Google found the post politically incorrect and therefore offensive? Could it be that Google thought the post was dangerous because it had potential to incite Islamists?

Given the company’s self-proclaimed devotion to free speech, I think Google ought to explain why it deleted the blog.

If you are a conservative, you are a target.  A few years ago, the battleground was FaceBook, where conservative activists, including myself, had accounts disabled and deleted for no apparent reason.  Some of us, including me, were lucky and got our accounts back.  Others were not so fortunate.

Make no mistake.  The far left does not like the competition of ideas.  They never have because their ideas not only suck, they lose in the market place of ideas.

Thanks.

In many cases, the answer is simple. Many of the problems that conservatives are facing on the Internet are related to Google entities. While we can't stop doing business with all Google entities, we can stop doing business with certain ones.

I strongly recommend that people use ixquick.com for their searches, instead of Google. That's because ixquick doesn't store ANY information about your search activity. It's entirely private. But best of all, it means that my searches on ixquick don't increase Google's impression numbers, to boost their revenue. There are also procedures and/or tools available to change the default search engine for most browsers.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to keep Google's info cleared from your PC, since I use a Mac. But I use two products on my Mac - Glims and Glimmerblocker - and a custom AppleScript that keeps my Mac clear of cookies from Google and other anti-privacy sites, including Flash cookies. I don't know it they are available for PCs or if there are other similar products for PCs. I have these tools set to store certain cookies for a short time and other cookies are deleted every 30 minutes.

There are some occasions when I can't get around using a service of one of the Google companies. But they are very limited and thanks to the privacy tools on my computer and my VPN, they don't store data about my browsing for more than 30 minutes, if at all.

That last sentence brings up the other thing that I strongly recommend the use of - a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN gives you several security and privacy advantages. For example, when you visited YouTube a few minutes ago, your IP address indicated that you were in Dayton, OH and when you visit the same site, your IP address indicates that you're in Paris, France, when you're really in Phoenix, AZ. There is a wide variety of VPN providers. My favorites are those who provide both computer based software and router-based solutions. But you may have different needs. So search for VPN. Just do the search on ixquick.

Support Google's competition, whenever you can.

Christian, Try another service. Check some of the other conservative blogs like GOOOH 2010, or Blow Out Congress http://www.blowoutcongress.com/ , etc. See who their blogs are posted with and get back to blogging. I am not connected with either of these blogs but don't like to see censorship like the left is so fond of.

Hint. Back up your blog posts frequently so you can move if necessary.

SUGGESTION:  Collect articles, and Blogs that are censored by Facebook and Google. Then, publish these 'censored' information through many outlets: magazine articles, books, etc.  A conservative entrepreneur may capitalize on the trend of liberal censorship. Create titles like:  Liberal Censorship, or Information Liberal do not want You to Read.  (Censored information is of great appeal to readers).

Google execs will have to answer for these violations someday.  Probably sooner than they will like.

I'm just an ordinary American, who Loves this country and can't stand what I'm seeing that is happening here.2 years ago I received a laptop for Christmas,I was thrilled...never really dealt with computer's before(except at library or my kids).Signed up with as many conservative websites that I was interested in..for a year it was Great....now,so many are gone and I re-sign in(that I've joined)but the next day,or after they're  never back....keep wondering if I'm...what,don't know! Anybody got any ideas? It's also interesting which ones I can't get anymore....

All this is an area that I am not at all familiar with, but I do not want anyone, especially a Conservative blogger silenced by a leftist entity like Google (I have heard Soros is tied to them).  Don't know, just heard it.  However, Rush Limbaugh has a new sponsor that is advertising internet access that is supposed to be safe.  As I said before, I am no internet technician, but maybe this could be an answer.  Just saying,

There is a great option.  Where are all the conservative computer geeks that can put a network out there for just conservative blogging??  Why are all the Christian computer geeks holding back?  Step all you Christian computer networkers and create a social network for Christian.  Then anything you do not like as a topic or blog from the left can be deleted as offensive.  GO for IT.
