For a movement that only started two years ago, the Tea Party movement is gathering a head of steam.
The Tea Party movement had a great year in 2010 and now, for 2012, not only are we having a Tea Party candidate running for the Senate, Jamie Radtke in Virginia, but also it looks like we may have a Tea Party candidate for President.
Michele Bachmann has been making a number of trips to Iowa and now sources close to her are saying she is leaning towards running for President.
If she runs and wins, she will be breaking a long dry streak for Congress. The last sitting member of congress who went straight from the House to the White House was James Garfield in the election of 1880.
Most people do not care about history from one hundred and thirty years ago. They are much more concerned about surviving the Obama economy.
While it is early to come out with endorsements, clearly Michele Bachman is in the top tier of potential candidates. She helped found the Tea Party caucus and has been with this movement since the beginning.
In Congress, she has shown courage and dedication to the conservative cause. Currently she is in a fight with the House leadership over funding Obamacare. There is $105 Billion that was snuck into the budget to fund Obamacare. Michele is demanding that be taken out and along with Iowa Congressman Steve King is vowing to vote against any continuing resolution to keep the government running if the Obamacare funding is left in place. Not only is she vowing to vote against any continuing resolution that has that funding in place, she is also trying to get more Republicans to join her.
When she decided to stand and fight she said defunding Obamacare (saving $105 billion) and defunding Planned Parenthood were not negotiable. Wow! Why isn’t the Republican leadership in the House saying this kind of stuff?
The Tea Party movement is not just a fan club for the Republican Party. We have been looking for serious leadership and in many ways; Michele Bachmann has been the first to step up to the plate.
There is an upside and a downside to everything and the down side of Michele Bachmann running for President is, if she loses, we lose her in Congress. There are clearly risks to everything we do in life and the risk is worth it to have her on the national stage and possibly in the White House.
At some point, this movement is going to have to choose a standard bearer for the White House in 2012. It may be a little early to choose that person now, but it is not too early for us to encourage good conservatives to get into the race.
Run Michele, RUN!

Permalink Reply by ARNOLD CARL TAPP on March 12, 2011 at 11:32am YOU ASK THE QUESTION : WHY NOT ALLEN WEST ? PAY ATTENTION AND LISTEN FOR
THE ANSWER . WE LIKE ALLEN WEST AND VOTED FOR HIM TO REPRESENT US IN
THE 112th CONGRESS , BUT HE DOES NOT YET HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
TO HANDLE THE AFFAIRS OF STATE AS PRESIDENT . JOHN BOLTON IS THE BEST
POSSIBLE CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT, SINCE HE IS AN EXPERIENCED STATESMAN , OPPOSES
MOSQUES AND MUSLIM TAKEOVER OF AMERICA , AND HAS SAID HE WOULD REPEAL
EVERY ACT , BILL AND APPOINTMENT MADE BY THE SOCIALIST DICTATOR obummer .
BOLTON ALSO IS MISTER CLEAN , AND HAS NO SCANDALS , LIKE SEVERAL OTHER
POSSIBLE CANDIDATES AND PAST OCCUPANTS OF OUR OVAL OFFICE & WHITEHOUSE .
