While I am probably one of the last persons Mitt Romney would sit down for a one on one with, it could happen. If it did happen, I have a lot of questions I would like to ask him. And I know what the first question would be.
That question would surprise a lot of people.
What is it?
The question would not be about taxation. Nor would it be about the debt, the deficit or even spending.
My question would be this. If you are elected President, what will you do to stop the use of drones here in America? What are you going to do to stop the government from spying on American citizens?
George Orwell in 1984 wrote, “big brother is watching.” He was off by less than 30 years.
Today, for the first time, military forces of the United States are being deployed in the borders of this nation to spy on our own citizens. The government now uses drones routinely over American skies. Not only is the Federal Government in the drone business but state and local governments are getting in the drone business too.
Recently the Air Force released a document that says if military drone operators see something interesting, they can apply to a military judge or their commander for permission to search private property.
Excuse me? What the hell happened to the Constitution?
What the Air Force says it is doing is not passing along information to civilian law enforcement authorities. They are going to investigate themselves!
This is absolutely insane.
While I am as big a supporter of the military as anyone, any military member who authorizes such a search of civilian property or any military member who carries out a search of civilian property should be immediately prosecuted.
There is no excuse for this.
The military exists to protect the nation from external threats. They are not a law enforcement agency. In fact, there are specific laws on the books that prohibit the military from doing just that.
There is at least one Congressman who gets it.
Congressman Jeff Landry added an amendment to the FY 2013 National Defense Authorization Act that prohibits the use of evidence gathered by a drone in a criminal prosecution unless the government first obtained a warrant as the Constitution mandates. Landry’s amendment also specifies that the 2012 NDAA does not prohibit the Writ of Habeas Corpus for anyone who is entitled to file such a writ.
While there are many things we need to be worried about, the cavalier use of drones and the wholesale disregard of the Constitutional protections afforded American citizens by the Obama Regime is startling.
Kudos to Jeff Landry for standing up for the Constitution.
Does Mitt Romney stand for the Constitution?
That is the first question I would like to ask him, if I ever got the chance.
It is a great question, especially for those of us, who have the courage to speak out ,against things we consider, to be against the Constitution, unlawful, and harmful to our Nation. With the news, it is appearing that very few people are still adoring him. (small h) and as it gets worse, the rats start jumping ship, well, who knows what will happen. Good question.
I think maybe Mitt Romney might feel pretty strong about this type of thing, too. America has been good to the Romney Family, they have worked, and done well here, so I don't think there is any question of alligence.
We won in Wisconsin, big one, but I would like, to remind everyone, that tomorrow is the National Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally....it is scheduled for noon in Southern Ca. in Santa Ana, at the Civic Center. This Rally will take place all over the U.S. at different sights. If you think, "Well, I probably won't make that one", consider this, if one Sunday, you went to Church, and the doors were closed, and your Pastor, or Priest was gone, how would you feel that you did nothing to prevent it?? Hitler attacked the Church first, first thing to get rid of. Obama has attacked our Religious Freedom, and as of now, gotten away with it..You can Google "Religious Rally", and tomorrow's date, to find one near you. Remember,"All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing" A quotation from Elsie Weisel, of Holocaust fame,"Indifference, to me,is the epotime of evil".
Mr. Romney: What will you do to immediately restore the Constitution & immediately eliminate laws & regulations passed in this administration that are in violation of the 4th & 10th Amendment, Article 1, Sec 8 and Article II, Sec 2 which includes the drones spying on Americans, NDAA, DoJ lawsuits against states enforcing security on their borders & enforcing voter ID, and eliminating executive orders to bypass congress that includes extension of authority of governmental agencies?, Please address each constitutional violation.
This is important for sure, but i think your email of a few days back about choosing the vp and his staff who you gave suggestons for was the most right on suggestion. please do whatever to get that tea party article in his hands. he will win with a staff like that.
I would state the "American Experiment" slightly different ... "Can civil governments obey God?"
Romney tipped his hand when he said he supported the Indefinite Detention Act provision of the NDAA 2012.
To Romney we are just hunks of meat that happen to have the right to vote, for now. Not sovereign citizens with inalienable rights.
I assume you've seen Obama Threatens Veto of NDAA 2013:Too Many Restrictions on His "Exc... from Tuesday.
And, as well, NDAA Injunction Has Broad Reach, Judge Says from yesterday.
Good links Vern. Thanks.
As we have surrendered our rights inch by inch they have taken mile by mile and are soon to have a stalag 13 in your neighborhood. Sounds crazy, so did an illegal in the whitehouse but look what we have? Wake up and demand that our constitution be respected and put back in operation.
I would rather give Mitt Romney the first answer, "Sundown at least 50% of current Federal Government within first three months and force a balanced budget from Congress within that timeframe."
OH - OH - BB back up, fire, kick out, remove, whatever, Harry Judas Reid.
