Today is Easter. Two thirds of Christendom will celebrate Easter today. Those of us who are Eastern Orthodox will celebrate next week.
Easter is a time to remember and reflect. It is a time for families to gather. Many eloquent things have been written about Easter, but the best still remains the Easter Homily of St. John Chrysostom.
Here it is.

Permalink Reply by Chas Jones on April 8, 2012 at 5:45pm I apologize if any take offense to this Post for I assure you ALL that no offense is intended. However, I just finished watching Brit Hume's interview of Newt on FoxNews Sunday from earlier today. How anyone who saw or sees that interview can say anything negative of the Newt of today, that mature, redeemed, Statesman, I just watched would be beyond me.
On this day when so many Celebrate the greatest Miracle ever, the Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, I cannot cease to plead with God to yet Raise up Newt at an open convention to become the GOP nominee and our next president.
I believe God was with our republic in its war for Independence, with it in its war to preserve our Union, and I pray still with it as this process of choosing a nominee unfolds.
I may surrender one day ... but I simply cannot surrender on This Day, No, not on this Resurrection Sunday!
