Today is Easter. Two thirds of Christendom will celebrate Easter today. Those of us who are Eastern Orthodox will celebrate next week.
Easter is a time to remember and reflect. It is a time for families to gather. Many eloquent things have been written about Easter, but the best still remains the Easter Homily of St. John Chrysostom.
Here it is.

Pray God looks upon us with great love and helps us out of this horrible rebellion we
are in. Give us the strength to over/come these obstacles.
Love to all patriots and their families. Love to everyone.
Permalink Reply by Chas Jones on April 8, 2012 at 12:31pm In the Beginning was God. One God in Tri-Unity of Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I was also there; you and I were there; We were there in the Mind and Heart of God.
Knowing ALL that would follow, God Created the Heavens and the Earth; Created Light and Divided Light from Dark and Created Time and the counting of Days. God Created the Universe and His WORD reveals "He Made the Stars Also." He Created the Angels and all the heavenly host knowing Lucifer would rebel and a third of the angels with him.
God also Created me and you ... Knowing our fore-parents would sin and that one result of God's Creation would be the Cross of Calvary. Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ and Messiah, God's only Begotten Son would suffer horribly and Die upon a Cross ... for my sin and for yours.
God Knew however, that unlike all other deaths, His Son would lay down His life, and to demonstrate His Power over Death, would three days later take up His Life again that God's Creation was NOT in vain.
Today most Christians throughout the world Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ, Messiah, Son of God and Savior!
For ALL those enjoying such celebrations I bid you Joy and Blessings this Resurrection Day. Reflect upon and share with others the meanig this day has for you, as I do by this Post.
Thank You Father for Creating Me, Thank you Jesus for Saving Me, Thank you Holy Spirit for Indwelling Me!!! Amen

The meaning and reason for this day of celebration
will be the true and only hope that each Bible believing Christ Follower
carries with them in their heart. It is something that no enemy can ever
take from us. Christ's death and resurrection is the reason we can face
what ever comes our way in the future whether he comes for us, or even
in death. God Bless You All

Happy Easter. God bless all of you and our country. I pray that he gives us strength and guides us through the coming months.
