Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are already lining up their talking points in case there is a government shut down.  It is the Tea Party’s fault.

According to US News and World Report, Reid said:

"I am extremely disappointed that after weeks of productive negotiations with Speaker Boehner, Tea Party Republicans are scrapping all the progress we have made and threatening to shut down the government if they do not get all of their extreme demands," Reid said in a statement Monday.

"The division between the Tea Party and mainstream Republicans is preventing us from reaching a responsible solution on a long-term budget,"

In the House, Steny Hoyer tossed his oar in, calling Tea Party freshmen congressmen, the “perfectionist caucus.”  Chuck Schumer has called for Boehner to dump the Tea Party and has even said that if Boehner wants an agreement, he is going to have to abandon the Tea Party and give up on all additional budget cuts.

The Democrats have been on message on this one idea.  Get Boehner to abandon the Tea Party.

This messaging has been pretty consistent for the last two weeks.  That is the alarming part.  The Democrats would be expected to blame the Republican and the Tea Party for a shut down.  The messaging for Boehner to abandon the Tea Party is much more alarming.

Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and Steny Hoyer are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.  They are never going to set records for IQ’s.  They don’t need to. A shark is one of the dumbest animals in the ocean, yet it knows how to zero in on its prey and take it down.

The Democrats, like a shark, smell fear in the water.  They know Boehner does not want this fight.  If given the chance, Boehner will cave.  They know this.

This is of course, what they want.  If they can split the GOP and the Tea Party, any hope of fiscal discipline will collapse and spending will again go into overdrive.

As Newsmax noted, Democrats are trying to exploit the split between Boehner and conservative congressmen. They hope the divide between the two sides will widen, noting that 54 Republicans defected from their leaders on the last stop-gap budget the House approved.

More here.

Will the Democrats be able to pressure Boehner to drop the Tea Party and split the GOP?  At this point who knows, but one thing is certain.  If this happens, the liberals’ Christmas will come in April.

If anyone ever needed proof that the Tea Party is relevant nationally, this is it. But Dems still don't get the fact that the GOP and TP are joined at the hip. Attempts to divide the two are useless. Oh, they be able to better define a difference of opinion between the two, but they will never find the chink in the armor where they can drive the wedge.
Jeff, both parties are scared and this is just as the founders wanted it.

It's only going to get better from here.

And Marianne. Who cares what they say? WE know who we are!
I heard today that this is a ploy... the democrats want us to believe that the Republicans will drop the Tea Party. Boehner said... NOT TRUE.

I can't believe these DESPOTS playing games while Rome burns. You IDIOTS!

YOU MORONS NO LONGER HAVE MY CONSENT!

I think I might just drop out and enjoy myself until the killing starts. Our leaders refuse to do anything but drive this country off a cliff. Enjoy the last few moments of the greatest nation that ever was and may future generations piss on our graves for committing them to a life of servitude for elitist fools.

This late development seems to support my position, that we need to be extremely careful about whipping our friends in the GOP too hard.

Perhaps, they would hold the line better if we were to ask them what we can do to help them.

Many of our members are PC's who can talk to voters about the GOP strategy.

Of course, we would have to be told what the GOP strategy is.

Wrong!
...many folks at TPN have already written off the Republican Party for "selling us out"...

I hate to disillusion you Sane, but the RINO's and the establishment Republicans will abandon us.  In some ways they already have by not standing up to the Dems in the past CR's.

Cold Warrior - we are flooding the phone lines, faxes, and email.  It's not working.  Hopefully the rally that is coming this Thursday will help convince Boehner and his leadership team that they have got to fight.

It's probably going to come down to us having to Primary them.  It's the only way that we are going to win this war.  We have got to find candidates, people who are strong conservatives that are willing to put their lives on hold for one - two terms in order to get this mess straightened out.

I think that we also need to work in conjunction with other Tea Party groups to develop a solid list of who we want to primary, the strategy that we are going to use and then we must rally everyone to get out and make it happen.

In the meantime, I guess we continue to call, fax and email and hope that it works

Kim,

I don't advocate phone calls, faxes or e-mails unless you can truthfully say one of the two following, otherwise you are wasting your time:

I am a conservative Republican Party precinct committeeman and I am recruiting every conservative I can to come into the Party with me as a precinct committeeman for the sole purpose of making sure you and all like you who do not uphold your oath of office will not be returned to office in the next election

or

I am a conservative Republican and I am taking steps to become a precinct committeeman and I am recruiting every conservative I can to come into the Party with me as a precinct committeeman for the sole purpose of making sure you and all like you who do not uphold your oath of office will not be returned to office in the next election.

Until the American people figure this out, including the tea partiers, the congresscritters will not do a damn thing to fix things.  They think, "Why I should I fight for the rights and liberties of the American people?  All they do is run around with signs at tea party rallies.  They don't organize where it really matters, inside the Republican Party, as precinct committeemen, where they could take us all out in the next primary.  I'm not gonna tell 'em about this -- why should I?  If they can't figure it out, they get the government they deserve."

And we do.

There's no silver bullet.  We have to all get involved in party politics like never before.  Or we will lose our country.  Problem is, most Americans are too ignorant or lazy to get involved in party politics.  I frankly am getting weary of telling people about The Neighborhood Precinct Committeemen Strategy and hearing all the excuses for why someone can't spend two hours a month at their local Republican Party committee meeting.  All most people want to do is complain about the latest outrage.  But they won't actually DO anything.

Oh well, I guess America was nice while we had.

In a couple of years, my kids will say, "Dad, we know you did you best to wake people up to what the really needed to do."

But, what will the outcome have been.  Will we have had resounding victories for constitutional conservatives in the Republican Party primaries and then resounding victories in the general elections over the Dems?  Or, will we have what we had in 2010 -- only about 20 per cent or less Republican turnout in the primaries and about 50 per cent turnout in the general election -- which will result in constitutional conservatives getting creamed in the primaries and most Republicans losing in the general elections?

By the looks of the comments of most who post on these "conservative action" blogs and web sites, most people are "keyboard warriors" who have never been to a Republican Party committee meeting because I guess they are too ignorant or lazy to find one and then go to it.

Like I said, America was nice while it lasted.

Will socialism be so bad?  I guess most conservatives really don't care.

Thank you,

Cold Warrior

Robert,

Please tell us how you are going to back up that threat and make it happen.

Thank you,

HI

If the dumocrats are trying to split the Tea Party Republicans

and Boehner, that simply means they are desparate!. If Boehner

is not a treator and not have a yellow streak a mile wide, it should

be easy for them to refute the dumocrats, because (as I have seen

on c-span) the dumocrats don't want any real cut in federal spending.

All Boehner has to do is play the c-span video of the dumocrats

objecting to just about every cut that is put forward by the Republicans.

How's that for ammunition!!!

Yo Judson,

Cut it or Shut it. No more lip service. Love, Hank Hohenstein
