To state the obvious, there is one candidate running who has offered no real content to what he will do as President. He offers nothing but vague generalities for what he will do in 2013 and beyond. He is offering us some vague hope and change.
Who is the candidate?
It is Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney is offering us hope that we will get Obama out of the White House and change. Unfortunately for us, he is not telling us much about what that change would be.
Mitt Romney likes to say that Obama does not know what he is doing and he knows how to fix the economy.
That is a great sound bite but it means nothing. Obama said he was knew what he was doing too.
Where is Mitt Romney on tax cuts for all Americans? Tax cuts are an article of faith for Republicans. When asked about specific tax cuts for Americans, Mitt Romney said, “I haven’t modeled those yet.” In other words, he is not going to cut taxes. He doesn’t even make the pretense he is going to.
The Republican establishment is falling all over themselves to explain Romney and his lack of conservatism.
Jonah Goldberg of National Review Online went into contortions to explain Romney.
He said: “This, in a nutshell, is Mitt Romney’s biggest problem. A late immigrant to conservatism, Romney doesn’t speak the language naturally. He shares traits with both Al Gore, whose stiffness bordered on the animatronic, and George H. W. Bush, whose contempt for the song-and-dance of elections was transparent. Gore tried to compensate for his inadequacies by shouting, like an ugly American who thinks a foreigner will understand him if he only talks louder. Bush fell back on recitations of patriotic slogans and the generosity of providence that delivered Michael Dukakis as an opponent.
Romney hasn’t cracked the problem yet. He speaks conservatism as a second language, and his mastery of the basic grammar of politics is often spotty as well.”
Romney’s problem is not a language problem. It is a belief problem.
Romney is simply a liberal. He does not want to go into specifics because he does not believe in conservatism. It is hard to get excited about something you do not believe in. Even trial lawyers have trouble getting motivated to argue for causes and cases they do not believe in.
Romney has remained remarkably reticent about what he will do as President. Once he is nominated, he is going to track not only to the center but to the left so he can be “electable.”
For conservatives, this is not a matter of someone who does not speak our language. He is someone who does not share our beliefs.
Had McCain won the 2008 election, the left would have gotten 80% of what they wanted and the Tea Party would have never grown to be an effective counter to liberalism because half the people who are in this movement would not have wanted to go against a Republican. If Romney governs as a liberal, which is his track record, he will break the back of the conservative movement and will destroy the Republican Party.
It is still not too late for Romney to be stopped.

Newt will; boomerang on them (-:) Just about time they think they have him "pinned", he will "pull a rabbit out of the hat".
You can bet Omama had rather face Romney than Newt.

Permalink Reply by hunter60 on February 5, 2012 at 7:03am Romney is no convert to conservatism and he can't beat Obama by any stretch of the imagination. Romney is a progressive "R" with significant problems trying to straddle both sides of the issues of the day. Romneycare is the model for Obamacare and the MA moron is going to be clubbed to death with that. Romney has reversed positions so many times on the issues of the day that Obamas campaign is going to have a field day portraying the guy as a liar. In fact Romneys more egregious lies will be trumpeted on every network during prime-time. One has to wonder why the decidedly leftist media wants Romney as the nominee. Romney gets the nomination Obama wins, thats the whole story period.

Permalink Reply by John Wiant on February 5, 2012 at 10:59am It seems likely that Obama's plans for the previously United States of America has at least one thing in common with Mitt Romney: Either one of them will lead us to a totally UN-United America.
It would be completely UN-United under Obama and would likely lead to riots and worse, as the entire U.S.A. rapidly becomes part of the One World Global dominance of elite politicians, those willing to sell their soul to keep them in power, and the rest of us (living under a bridge).
It would be totally stagnant under Romney, and the inevitable Class Warfare (started with passionate enthusiasm under Obama, Reid and the plastic - faced woman), and that stagnation would surely lead to class warfare that dominates the future of multiple generations. Defeating class warfare has to be defeated now and torn out by the root; it cannot be defeated with Ralph Loren Romney in the Starched White House.
AND: I think it is very important to remember who the allies of the Democratic Axis of falsehoods are: They are all the RINO's, the Republican Establishment, idiots like Republican strategist Alex Castellanos, who just this morning on Meet The Press, sided with Man Hater Maddow, to talk about Newt as if he were just a moon joke.
The people inclined to immediately root for Romney only because "it looks like he might win" are the sheep that yearn for a leader to take control of their lives, regardless of the consequences / short term OR long term. They are worn out by having to look for hope that would extend to all of us; they don't want to worry about America anymore.
Unlike the people I've seen, met and read about in the Tea Party, and unlike TRUE Conservatives (none of whom apparently live in Nevada) ...... the crowd following / easily swayed / "OK what ever" crowd is barely even watching the news on TV. They aren't here / they aren't anywhere reading anything; they just go from channel to channel, person to person, looking for ways to keep a set of ear muffs on ......as they tune out reality.........as they tune out the real world, and as they desperately hope the bits and pieces of doomsday scenarios will stop getting through.
Permalink Reply by THOMAS S. WRIGHT on February 5, 2012 at 3:02pm IT CAN BE EASILY SAID, as some one pointed out KERRY was similar to ROMNEY, they are both LIBERALS THEY BOTH FLIP FLOP POLITCAL ISSUES. both ran or are running for POTUS. it appears we hv triplets obuma,ROMNEY,KERRY. on the same PAGE of the LIBERTARD BOOK. these kind of politicians are what the NATION DOES NOT NEED. yet there are enuf dummies out there to put them in office. so then the rest of the NATION IS STUCK with these libertards. and it takes a lot of work to unseat them out of office. we hv to UNITE AT SOME POINT TO GET NEWT AS THE FRONT RUNNER IN THIS RACE. or we as a NATION will be doomed to a LIBERTARD SOCIALIST AGENDA. NEWT was 2nd in NV. because the the SANTORIBOTS and the PAULBOTS are still splitting the VOTE. how can we win with this VOTE SPLITTING CIRCUS GOING. ans. we can't. as you can see with ur own eyes on the TV SCREEN CNN. FOX NEWS. and the mostly libertard media. WE ARE LOSING EA. CAUCUS, PRIMARY. RICK REFUSES TO SECEDE, PAUL WILL NOT SECEDE and his hardhead followers will not allow that of course. PAUL WILL RUN UNTIL THE LAST VOTE IS CAST. PAUL IS GOING NOWHERE FAST . they know it. we need NEWT TO WIN. RICK AND PAUL are dragging NEWT right down with THEM. I say is that fair to all the conservatives who want a REAL CONSERVATIVE POTUS. I SAY "NO" IT IS NOT. RICK AND PAUL WILL NOT QUIT SO WHO LOSES WE DO. no content in their fruitless campaigns. defeat will be their FAULT NOT NEWT"S. NEWT 2012.

Judson: You omited the most telling evidence of all. Mit refused to say that Dingle Barry was socialist!
Permalink Reply by Mollie Baxter on February 9, 2012 at 5:13am The problem is that NO ONE is giving us facts! The pollsters and pundits had nominated Romney before the first caucus! Then all the sheep just followed along. As a precinct executive committeeman and State Delegate in SC, I was not the least bit surprised by Romney's sound defeat! Yet the press and pollsters seemed stunned. Just who were they talking to? No one who votes in SC! What happened to investigative reporting? I am retired and have spent hundreds of hours searching for information on the candidates. I have to do it it on the Internet. The information is either slanted, missing,, or sketchy at best.
I know that a Governor who claims all he knows how to do is create jobs - not get a bill out of committee, sounds like a wretched pick for President. We already have a guy that claims the same thing in office. And hasn't life been great under that idiot?!
Romney, like Obama, is going to buy this election if we don't stop him! And if we don't, our Constitutional Republic is over! I DO wish our government officials would realize that we are NOT a democracy and never have been!
