Just when we thought the GOP field had jelled, a few new names are suddenly shaking it up. Sarah Palin has been making waves the last few days. Rick Perry may well jump in and even former New York Governor George Pataki may enter the race.
Why?
The time is now approaching for us to start choosing the people we want and getting rid of those we do not. Political writers and blogs have repeated the liberal meme that the GOP field is second rate. The serious Republicans are the ones who are sitting out this race.
Fox News quoted one of my blogs about Tim Pawlenty the other day. Fox quoted me as asking, "Pawlenty's great problem, which is the problem all of the establishment candidates have, is he offers no compelling vision for America. He offers no compelling reason why he should be the next president."
This is the great problem most of the Republicans in the field have. They have no compelling vision for America nor a compelling reason why they should be the next President.
Can anyone give me one good reason why anyone should support Romney? The usual reason is that he is the one guy who can beat Obama. Romney is the one guy who gives Obama the best shot at a second term. Why Romney? Can anyone state definitively what the Romney vision for America is?
How about Pawlenty, the anti-Romney? What is his vision for America?
How about Jon Huntsman? Can someone give a compelling reason for him? Huntsman, the former ambassador to China speaks fluent Mandarin. He can kowtow to the Chinese in their native language.
There are some candidates who offer a compelling vision for America. Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann both do. Sarah Palin has her vision for America. Though I am not a Ron Paul fan, even he has a compelling vision for America.
Unfortunately for America, most of the GOP is still controlled by the “establishment GOP” or as we in the Tea Party love to refer to them, RINOs.
The Party hierarchy thinks there is nothing wrong with a boring candidate who simply wants to be the next President. Someone like Romney does not want to be President, he wants to be the manager in chief.
In 1980, America rejected the most liberal President the country had ever seen at that point because Ronald Reagan had a vision for America. He was tired of seeing America in decline. He saw America as the great shinning city on a hill. He saw America as the greatest, most wonderful country in the world. He saw America as the strongest country in the world. He saw American ideals as the great ideals the world should emulate and he envisioned the end of the Soviet Union.
Who has the compelling vision for America and who makes the compelling case as to why they should be President?
It is not Romney, nor is it Huntsman nor Pawlenty. None of them offer any compelling reason to be President other than they just want to be a member of that elite club.
Their personal ambition is not a compelling reason for we the people to select any of them as our next President.

Permalink Reply by Frank Meyer on May 27, 2011 at 10:45am With the shift niow bt Herman Cain agreeing to appoint Muslims to high government position again shows the total ignorance of the candidates exactly what Islam stands for. Cain's inclusive program is unaccepatble. Islam is a dangerous political and military organization with a smacking of religion weaved in while commanding its followers to avoid contact with non-Mulims; lie to non-Muslims; and not to follow any laws except Islam and that inclusdes securlar laws by city, state, and the federal governments. This is in the Quran.
Islam further commands complete adherence to Sharia Law which violtaes our US Constitution dramatically and this is also unacceptable.
Maybe Herman Cain and the rest of the canidates need to listen to Sean Hannity and Bill O'reill each night. The politicans will do anything to get elected, and stopping Herman Cain noow is paramount.

Permalink Reply by Brenda Choate on May 27, 2011 at 11:00am This is distrubing. While I admire the success of Mr. Cain, I don't feel this is a wise decision on his part. The communist manifesto was to attack and bring down from the inside. Muslims are adament about inposing their way of life and law on everyone, implimenting sharia law, a monolistic governement, and supression of human rights. To allow someone with these objectives in a high governemnt position would not only open the door wider for the further implimentation of sharia law, but would endanger the continuity of our constitutional government. If Mr. Cain is seriously interested in pursuit of this goal then I need to rethink my decision on supporting him. Even if he should retract from this stance, there is no guarentee that once elected he would not appoint a Muslim to a high government position.
Too many politicians will say anything to get your vote. This is a red flag issue.

Try reading "What's Right with Islam is What's Right with America" by Imam Ibn Rauf.

I like Dr Zuhdi Jasser who is a devout American Muslim who has served in our Navy and is the President and Founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. He is on FOX quite a bit.
Permalink Reply by Jack Hartwell on May 27, 2011 at 5:30pm Wayne..do your due diligence before posting this kind of stuff. There is nothing compatible between Islam and Christianity. Read your history books and study the Quran a little. Islam is NOT a religion, it is a manifesto. Mohammed was not a peaceful guy, he was a warrior. His idea of dealing with infidels was to cut their heads off. After all, if you are'nt with 'em, you're agin 'em. Peace and love is not part of their war plan. So wake up and smell the roses. If we turn the other cheek to these people they will leave us DEAD. Trust me Charlie Brown, I wont move the football!!
The Qu'ran says its OK to lie to acheive your goals. So why would you believe ANYTHING this Imam tells you? IF you read the Bible, you should know how to detect the Devils work, even though he may take on many disguises. Mark my words, it will come down to war with these people to keep them from trying to take over...just like is predicted in the Bible.
