Today we are finding out that in the last six weeks, seven Americans have been killed in Afghanistan by Afghan troops. These are the men who are supposed to be our allies.  They are becoming as deadly for American soldiers as the Taliban.

What are we doing in Afghanistan?

What are we doing in the sandbox as a lot of the military personnel over there like to call it?

We are losing.

We are losing by design.

You cannot win a war when the Commander in Chief not only does not want to win; he does everything in his power to keep our guys from winning.  Our troops know this.

Michael Yon is an amazing writer and photographer.  He is also a former soldier with Special Forces.  He understands the military and has written about the situation in Afghanistan.

After the mass murder last week in Afghanistan, he wrote it was not only predictable that something like this would happen, he had predicted it.   On February 24, Yon wrote: “As the prevalence of insider attacks rises, and we lose more troops to Afghan troops going berserk and murdering our people, it’s likely just a matter of time before a U.S. troop or troops turn the table and intentionally slaughter Afghan forces.

“That could lead to a meltdown. We are at risk of losing control of more than some people might imagine. There is only so much that U.S. forces will put up with before fringe U.S. combat troops start taking matters into their own hands. Believe me.”

Why are we in Afghanistan?

The simple fact is we are there because of a bad idea, namely the Bush administration’s idea of nation building and now we are there because we have a President who wants to see America lose the war.  He just does not want to be blamed for that loss.

American troops in Afghanistan are tied up by unrealistic rules of engagement that make them little more than targets.  They know they are not there to win the war.  They are just marking time until Obama can pull them out.

They know they are not allowed to identify the enemy or take effective action against them.  They know they have to allow armed Afghans to work with them and the soldiers are reduced to praying that the next crazed Muslim seeking the 72 virgin express to paradise isn’t working next to him.

Our soldiers know that not only is our President making it impossible for America to win in Afghanistan, we have a so-called ally in Afghan President Hamid Karzai who hates America, and all but cheers for the Taliban.

Why should another drop of American blood be spilled there?

Screw Afghanistan.

We went into Afghanistan to stop the terrorists from using it as a base.   The terrorists have gone elsewhere.  It is time to follow the terrorists.

Let’s get our soldiers the hell out of there.

But as we leave, let’s take everything we brought with us and if we can’t take it with us, let’s blow it up.  If these savages want to live in the 7th century, so be it.   Let’s blow up every road, building, dam, power line and airstrip that has built in that open sewer of Southwest Asia.

And as we leave, let’s give Karzai a message.  In a few months, Obama is going to be replaced with a real American.  Here’s a box of SPF 20,000 sunscreen because if you invite the terrorists back in, next time, we aren’t sending soldiers and we aren’t going to worry about collateral damage.   Next time, there will be a radioactive glass spot where the terrorist camp was and where your palace was.

Yes. And I have the fundraiser that will raise &150,000,000 to go against all of these bums in 2012. I have an exclusive cd and on this cd Ronald reagan will recite the preamble to the us constitution, along with other audios br RR and the Bill of Rights. Thanks for al the good work. Time to take all of our country back from the brink. If the US is allowed to crumble, the world will will collapse into chaos and eventually destroy millions of lives throughout the world. The preamble is the second strongest written document in humanity. Second only to the Bible. So I have such a product that provides the fundraising basis to unite freedom folks throughout the world. Ooh --Ra!.................Definately time to lop off the top name on that "Chain of Command" board

attached to the barracks wall !!          2012 is the year and the end is near for Comrade obama.

Only utterly clueless fools like Obama could have ever thought that war in Afghanistan was a war we could win.

This is Tribal Country, with 17 different leaders / loyalties, and Karsai is a fool who thought he could form a nation out of this region.

When Pres. Bush's Sec. of Def. Rumsfelt brought the war against radical Muslim extremists to Iraq, that was sheer genius, because killing these radicals in the flat lands of Iraq made the job far easier than in mountainous, cave riddled regions of Afghanistan.

This was where mobile equipment and air power could be used to better protect American soldiers, flush out opposition.

For Obama to proclaim Afghanistan was a necessary and winnable war shows the utter cluelessness of  Obama and the Left, selling us this  idiot as as military genius.

You have a clarity about the situation in that area, more than most Americans on the blogs.

Iraq was planned as an easily winnable base of operations in the area of our supply of oil.

The Democrats turned it into a political football, totally neglecting the fact that the area was, and is, crucial to our energy supply  --  which, in turn, is crucial to our economic success.

Without oil, our economy withers and dies, as Obama continues to prove every day.

Our country has only THREE major problems:

1. Obama

2. Obama's henchmen

3. Obama's fanatic Democrat/Socialist/Activist supporters

Exactly so, Herman! "Only a fool like Obama  thought Afghanistan was a war we could win."

Or did he so believe?

One should remember that Obama's Afghanistan Surge went far beyond Bush's limited containment policy! The Bush administration had well learned the lessons of the Soviet War and the British folly.

“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Sir Winston Churchill

Nope, the whole thing is Obama's! Just one more example of his horrible and misguided efforts and wastes. Or, a planned failure....Afghanistan has never proven to be worth the effort of conquest...since Atila the Hun in the 5th century!

You are so right Vern.  I totally remember how the Democrats were arguing that Obama is too weak and needs to listen to commanders on the ground and escalate the war to "win it." Those democratic war mongers screwed that up for sure... Never heard of a republican claim that victory is achievable in Afghanistan, no, never heard that.....

Now if we can just stop him from rushing into Iran for another war we can clearly win in several months time with absolutely no impact to the US or the rest of the world....

Well, reality is that Bush thought we could win it, also.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have brought us in there.

you got that right!!

We tend to underestimate Mr. Obama (I refuse to call him "President"). While we decry his lack of understanding and ridiculous policies, perhaps there is more to it.

Perhaps Mr. Obama's intention was not to win a war, but instead was to bleed the U.S. Military and break their will to fight while at the same time bleeding the country to death financially; nothing spends money faster than war.

Amen.   I am tired of sacrifacing our troops to the political machine.  This is another political war began by Bush and continued by obama in the name ot terrorism.  Yes, there are terrorist out there, real terrorist not the Homeland Security brand.  Those are the ones we need to fight.  Ever since 9/11 politicans have used scare tactics to force compliance with unAmerican activities done in the name of protection.

We have become a country of whimps.  When attacked by Japan, we responded with a full out war.  We did not play politics and were out to win.  We did not ask permission from Japan, nor anyone else, we acted desively.

Modern warfare, if you can call it that, involves coalitions, permission from the people we are sent to defend, and political maneuvers to absolve ourselves of blame for some act.  Atrocities happen, troops get sloppy or angry, colateral damage happens;  it is war.  Our troops are placed in damage and from the president down we apologize.  Where are the apologies from the Afghan.?

"This is another political war began by Bush and continued by obama in the name ot terrorism. "

Get your facts straight.

Bush chose to go into Iraq for good reason. He stayed away from Afghanistan after he found that the daisy cutter bombs could not dislodge Bin Laden there. Bush was not willing to waste our troops in a useless search for Bin Laden. Instead, he put the CIA to the task of finding Bin Laden, which they did.

Unfortunately for us, Obama cashed in on the long a arduous search for Bin Laden which Bush had started years ago.

The Democrats were always the ones who complained that we should have gone into Afghanistan instead of into Iraq. Don't blame it on Bush.

"......UN-CONSTITUTIONAL freedom ZAPPING Homeland Security, that has not made this country safer. "

How many successful attacks have occurred on US soil in the last 10 years?

Well...............?

Has one of your "freedoms" had a problem, lately?

Thought so ....................
