Oh, you know it had to start. When someone in the political class has the least bit of opposition they start crying. When there is the actual possibility they might be voted out because, well maybe the voters are tired of that person, the whining goes into warp speed.
How dare those pesky voters dare challenge someone who has been in the Senate long enough that his Senate tenure is now old enough to run for President.
Senator Orrin Hatch, the most senior Republican in the Senate, has a primary challenge, and he has “no respect” for the people responsible for this. Sen. Hatch joined Greta Van Susteren last night to discuss the potential, now realized, of a primary challenge against him, and Sen. Hatch had some nasty words for Freedomworks and its leader, Dick Armey.
“Freedomworks, the group of Dick Armey, is gunning for you,” Van Susteren informed Sen. Hatch, who seemed to mind only what he insisted were lies from the group. “They take a few dozen of my votes out of the better of 12,000 votes that I’ve cast, distort those votes and lie about them, direct lie about them.” He argued they were only trying to raise money. “They take someone like myself who everybody knows and they trash Orrin Hatch and they raise a lot of money from conservatives all over the country who think what they’re saying is true.” He concluded with a flourish, “they’re not people I have very much respect for. I don’t have any respect for them, in fact.”
Hatch claims he has Tea Party support. Really? Where? Hatch thinks Freedomworks is in it for the money. What is Hatch in it for? He is part of the problem in Washington.
Message to Orrin Hatch. It is not just FreedomWorks that is against you. It is real Tea Party Americans.
Orrin Hatch is whining because someone dares to run against him. Hatch thought that 18 years was too long for the Senator he replaced to be in Washington.
Hatch has been there twice as long. He needs to go home.
Time to return to Utah permanently Orrin Hatch.
Clicked on the Greta Van Susteren link and read the comments, They're more along the lines of something I would read on HuffPo. Apparently we here on the TPN are a bunch of Teabaggers, Knuckledraggers, Neanderthals, and Right Wing Extremists who see Communists around every corner. I wonder if this is indicative of Greta's show or FOX in general?
I doubt it - but is indicitive of coordinated liberal/socialist blogging efforts ramping up as MASSIVE LIBERAL/DEMOCRAT losses loom in the fall. The desperation will get palpable as the days tick by and reality of Obama's loss becomes obvious.
Greta is fair and tough but undeniably conservative.
I watched Greta's interview with Hatch an thought he made a complete OLD FOOL of himself on national TV.
At age 78 WHY DOES he CLING SO DESPERATELY to POWER IN WASHINGTON D.C.? Doesn't he LIKE Utah? Like Murkowski and McCain, etc. these people seem to HATE their "home states" and just won't "let it go."
Is getting their Senatorial butts kissed 24/7 THAT INTOXICATING? Geeze...
Carol, I LIKE your LIKE... wish Judson would provide the option.
It's time to clean both houses.
Sharron, you are sooooo right.
Orren Hatch will have to go, and with him send the biggest Crybaby, John Boehner. He has not done a thing for his constituents. Neither Obama nor Holder has yet been impeahed which means he's useless, and worthless. He has let the man who wants to destroy our beloved country remain in office to try to do exactly that. Boehner should be impeached.
Anyone seeing this page probably also sees "Retire Lugar" at the top of this page. Lugar has served just as many years as Hatch and unlike Orrin, Dick Lugar is known as "Obama's favorite Republican." Just studying Lugar's voting record proves that title. And just this weekend it was announced that both Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Sen. John McCain have recorded endorsement ads for Richard Lugar to be aired all over the state of Indiana. Hoosiers, please...the Tea Party Conservative of Choice is Richard Mourdock and he must, absolutely must, win over Dick Lugar. Mourdock is Constitutionally solid, fiscally responsible, and small-government minded. Lugar is anything but.
