In some conservative quarters, the question is still being asked, “What is our alternative to Mitt Romney?”
Some people are suggesting voting for the Libertarian Candidate or even the guy from the Constitution Party who may only end up on the ballot in one or two states.
There is an alternative to Mitt Romney, if you are looking for one.
Who is it?
It is Barack Obama.
No, that is not a joke.
Absent some almost unprecedented or at least unpredictable event, next January in Washington, it is either going to be Barack Obama or Mitt Romney standing on the stage taking the Oath of Office.
It will not be Gary Johnson and it will not be that clown Virgil Goode from the Constitution Party.
Here are your choices. It is either A or B. It is American versus Marxist. It is Romney versus Obama. It is that simple.
If you decide Romney is not pure enough for you and you decide you want to vote for the candidate who believes the most pressing problem facing this country is the legalization of drugs, then you are voting for Barack Obama.
If you choose to vote for the Libertarian candidate this year, you are voting for four more years of the Party of Treason in the White House.
If you doubt me on this and think your vote does not matter, I refer you to Florida in 2000. Ralph Nader pulled 97,000 votes in Florida. Most of those people would have undoubtedly preferred Al Gore to George W. Bush. Gore lost Florida by 537 votes.
Yesterday, Mitt Romney pulled a stunner. His selection of Paul Ryan was a complete surprise to me. Prior to yesterday I was almost certain that his choice would be Rob Portman. The others I feared were in the running were Tim Pawlenty or Chris Christie. Had Christie been the choice, it would have been as bad a pick for Romney as McCain’s first choice in 08 of Joe Lieberman.
Some people, mostly Libertarians have been assailing Ryan as not really a conservative. Ryan voted for TARP in 2008 and he voted for Bush’s Medicare expansion.
No politician is going to have a perfect record. The American Conservative Union scores Ryan with a 92% lifetime record. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, if someone votes with me 92% of the time, I’m going to call him a 92% ally, not an 8% traitor.
Instead of tapping an establishment moderate, as most of us feared he would do, Romney made a surprisingly bold choice in Ryan. More importantly, he reached out to conservatives.
A few weeks ago, I said I would go into the voting booth on election day with a large and cold bottle of Pepto Bismol in one hand, a stomach distress bag in another and I would vote for Romney, praying I did not leave the rancid dregs of what was once my breakfast on the voting machine.
I lost count of the number of jury trials I did as a lawyer. In a jury trial, at the end, the jury is given instructions by the judge. There is one section of the jury instructions that I have always remembered. It said, “Do not hesitate to reexamine your own views and change your opinion if you believe it is not correct.”
That is sound advice.
I have reexamined my own views of this race and have changed my opinion because I believe my old opinion is no longer correct.
This is a battle for the soul and future of America. It is literally a battle between good and evil. It is a battle between those who revere America and the liberty and freedom it stands for and those who worship at the altar of socialism and the inevitable tyranny that follows with socialism.
I have been brutally critical of Mitt Romney over the last few months. I anticipate I will continue to be critical of him on certain issues. Mitt Romney is not the perfect candidate but we will never have the perfect candidate.
What we do have is a candidate who right now is our best hope for stopping the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil and helping to restore America.
I endorse Mitt Romney for President and Paul Ryan for Vice President. I encourage every Tea Party member and conservative to go out and support them, work for them and make sure that in January, we do to Barack Obama what he has done to so many other Americans.
We put him out of a job.

Those who continue to criticize the very pragmatic Mitt Romneyand espouse some other choice or who say that the R-Party will discount them after the election are just not applying all of their intellectual prowess to the reality of the issue at-hand: removing the vile Communist/pro-Muslim scumbag who sullies our White House with his presence in it...
We control the R-Party by sending a strong majority Conservative Congress to DC to support and push Romney in the directions we want...
A vote for anyone other than Romney-Ryan is a vote for BHO and his continued treason against our nation.

Most of the Patriots on the TPN forum are "Rebels" because neither The Republicans, Democrats or Independents are satisfying our need for "The Constitionsl Republic" that Our Forefather built !
Therefore, we are "Free" Thinkers and speak our mind. None of us are "Yes" men. Like Our Forefathers, we yield to "One Another...When We Place Principles Above Personalities".

I will vote for Paul Ryan for VP just like I voted for Sarah Palin!
We need to rid our country of all the Liberals (aka Statists, Marxists, Commies etc)!
I am begging that all the "career" Liberals throughout the Government be replaced with Conservatives!
Especially eliminate those slime balls at the VA!
We The People need to take the Government back from all the Liberals, but our Military & Veterans need a VA that looks out for them!
I am a Goldwater Conservative and I was TEA Party before there was a TEA Party!
WE THE PEOPLE need to realize that there is only one group of PEOPLE who actually care about this country - CONSERVATIVES & Originalists!
Our Forefathers gave us a Constitutional Republic and it is up to WE THE PEOPLE to keep it!
Permalink Reply by Gerald V. Todd on August 12, 2012 at 10:04am I hear you complaining, but about what? Ryan not only understands and articulate fiscal policy with clarity, he also well understands the combined application of the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity. chew on that for a while and take a deep breath.
Paul is no John Boehner, ifthat's what bothers you.
Permalink Reply by Gerald V. Todd on August 12, 2012 at 10:07am I think I misread your comments... I'll vote for Ryan as I did for Palin - I love 'em both!

Permalink Reply by Judy Masserano on August 12, 2012 at 9:42am Went to the rally in Manassas yesterday. It was fantastic. Lots of secret service in the crowd & on the rooftops with binoculars & firearms. Had to have a ticket scanned to enter (free) & went through a metal detector. The S.S. is nothing like the TSA. Nice chaps.
Got close up, but not enough to shake hands afterward. Romney was pumped up... jacket & tie off...charged the crowd...I saw the fervor in him & it was passed on to the people...excellent show of ALL ethnicity's...quite the mix...picking Ryan as veep pushed me to take the drive & fight the multitudes... As for Andrea Mitchell's comment about Ryan not a pick for women---HA! Why were they shouting "Paul", Paul"!!!!!
The Gov & former Gov gave excellent speeches. (VA has to get George Allen into the Senate!) Paul Ryan was great, as usual. I have yet to hear a bad speech from him. He's factual, articulate, and a fighter. The crowd went wild.
Kudos to their wives. We must keep the candidates, their wives, & families in prayer. It's going to get messier/dirtier as times goes by. BTW, the opening prayer, although lengthy, was very, very good. Wish I had a copy.
We said the Pledge of Allegiance & sang "God Bless America". Oh & we chanted "USA" throughout...with great pride, as we waved our American flags.
On the way back to my car, I chatted with a lady. She asked if we can win in Nov. Without hesitation, I said "Yes". Where she was standing at the rally, an infiltrator was yelling for us to get a hold of reality. We were racists. We hate blacks. He was a white guy.. blond hair, blue eyes. The lady got in his face.
I believe this is what the next 3 months will be about...BO & his ilk accusing us of racism. They have no other firepower. Certainly not his dismal record.
I was not a fan of Mitt Romney. Now I support him fully. As Levin says, when he gets into office the fight does not end. We hold their feet to the fire.
God Bless America! Keep us safe from all harm!

Permalink Reply by Gerald V. Todd on August 12, 2012 at 9:58am Strange. I've been hearing none of the Tea Party blogs have come out for Romney. Thanks for clearing the air on this site.
Paul Ryan is a perfect balance and exhorter for Mitt. Mitt showed tremendous savvy and wisdom in his choice.
I wrote a book in 2010 dealing with Constitutionality and spiritual warfare. I gave McCarthy, Cantor and Ryan signed copies. Kevin signed my copy and their "Young Guns" - "Keep the faith!" The Mormon Romney-Catholic Ryan link will befuddle and enrage the left. Keep Jesus' 1st Amendment words in mind:
"The disciples came to Jesus and complained that there were men not of their group casting out demons in his name. Jesus said, "Let them be. If they are not against us, they are with us."
So let it be to save our great nation.

Permalink Reply by Donald Mack Flippin on August 12, 2012 at 10:07am I have read and/or scanned every post attached to this article. If I did not miscount,
I believe there were only three (3) people out of step. It is good to see so many patriots
united, and I wish everyone to know that I count myself among their ranks.
The three who promised to take their ball and go home rather than vote for Romney/
Ryan need to do one of two things:
1. Reevaluate your positions, BECAUSE YOU ARE WRONG! If you vote for Donald
Duck in this upcoming election, you are voting for the destruction of the United States
of America! Donald Duck IS NOT GOING TO BE ELECTED POTUS.
2. Start your own Blog, then all three of you can toot your horns for Donald Duck
and tell each other how pure you are. And you can keep doing that until you get the
Big Zero reelected. Shortly after his reelection, he will probably take over the Inter-
Net (via an illegal Executive Order) and your voice (for Donald Duck) will be forever
lost. Afterwards, you can look back proudly upon the day that you pulled the lever
for Donald Duck (who, by that time, will be serving a life sentence in a Federal Prison).
What else can a man say? We have an objective to our immediate front. Once we
have taken that objective, the war will continue, because there is going to be another
objective ___ and another ___ and another.
Get in step! Saddle up! Lock and load! And stop with the stupidity!
Otherwise, great article, Judson. We're united now. Call cadence, and the majority will
hopefully stay in step!
Semper Fi!
