Earlier this year, Breitbart.com reported on the Judicial Conference being planned by the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
A judicial conference is something that is scheduled on a regular basis. It allows judges and lawyers to attend seminars to meet their continuing education requirements and it also allows interaction between judges and lawyers so the lawyers can be better prepared for dealing with the judges and can advise their clients. It also allows the judges and lawyers to work out problems in the way the court systems operate.
So far so good, right?
Not so fast.
The 9th Circuit is planning their Judicial Conference at a luxury resort in Maui, Hawaii.
In fairness, Hawaii is a part of the 9th Circuit. So are a couple of other tropical islands. According to Breitbart, most of the other circuits are trimming their judicial conferences. They are acknowledging the economic problems the nation faces right now and the understanding that the government needs to cut spending.
Not the 9th Circuit.
Judges and court personnel are being flown to Hawaii and are being lodged in luxury accommodations.
At least they have to work, right?
Well…..
According to Alex Kozinki, the Chief Judge of the 9th Circuit, the judges are expected to show up and participate at the events.
Right.
The only thing the employees of the 9th Circuit are guaranteed to do is hop the flight and check into the hotel. If you believe they are going to diligently show up for every meeting, as opposed to checking out the sights of Hawaii, I have some ocean front property in Nashville, Tennessee to sell you.
There are many other ways the 9th Circuit can hold its meeting and cut down on expenses, rather than flying everyone to a luxury resort in Hawaii.
In Tennessee, state court judges are required to attend judicial conferences. Do you know what the State of Tennessee does?
It holds its judicial conferences at state parks. The state already owns the property and puts it to good use.
Why can’t the 9th Circuit cut its expenses?
The 9th Circuit is the most liberal and most reversed circuit in the federal appellate circuits. There is a reason for it.
The majority of the judges on the 9th Circuit are liberals and like liberals everywhere they think the taxpayer is obligated to treat them like royalty. It does not matter to them that many Americans are out of work or under employed thanks to the Great Obama Depression. It does not matter to them that millions of Americans are losing their homes to foreclosure. They think it is the duty of Americans to provide them with tax dollars the liberals can use any way they want.
During his presidential campaign, Newt Gingrich called for the 9th Circuit to be abolished. Newt was on to something. The 9th Circuit is not only an embarrassment; it is a waste of our tax dollars. With Mitt Romney and John Boehner leading the Republican Party, the chances of the 9th Circuit being eliminated is about the same as the chances of winning the Powerball lottery.
But as with the lottery, we can always hope.

I guess the 9th circus thinks if people can't understand the their rulings, they won't know the rulings are unconstitutional, not to mention immoral. If they learn to speak Hawaiian, it might be an improvement.

A case could be made for a tele-conference. That would cost pennies when
compared to what the Circus plans to spend. But ___ that makes too much
sense, and Marxists are not into making sense. If they were, they'd be one
of us!
Carry on!

Just a suggestion, they're located in San Francisco, and Alcatraz isn't a long trip from there.
I'm beginning to question Romney as a candidate. Like Obama, he now declares that he doesn't need Congress to give him permission to attack Iran. Are we trading one evil for another? Will he do what we expect, or will we be disappointed again?
Permalink Reply by Gail E. Engelhardt on June 23, 2012 at 10:15am More than likely we will be disappointed in some of Romney's stances on issues, but "ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN OBAMA". We really don't have much of a choice because the Republican establishment and idiot voters made him our Presidential candidate on the Republican ticket. We will have to work with what we have gotten, but it is still a far cry better than Obama for another 4 years, which this Nation will not survive. Just keep thinking of all the damage Obama will do to our Republic if he does get another 4 years. If you think it has been bad so far, just wait if he would get re-elected. I pray every day that it won't happen. Romney can be controlled, but Obama has already run amok in his decisions and his narcissism. BHO is a disaster. One thing for sure we have with Romney is a man who has been successful and believe in free enterprise. We sorely need that. I just hope he will surround himself with good, honest, ethical advisors, and then listen to them at the appropriate time. We also need to vote out the RINOs if we have them in our States, vote in Conservatives. Stop voting in the same old ones, and expect a better result. You get what you vote for again and again. We need to start cleaning house now in this election and all future elections. It won't happen over night, but it can be done.

Just a few weeks ago you said you could vote for Romney because he seems to have some solutions in mind. Are you confusing us on purpose?
