In a perfect world or even a fair world, Newt Gingrich would be wrapping up the Republican nomination for President.
Life is not fair.
Newt hangs on, like a bloodied and battered Rocky, refusing to throw in the towel.
Newt was the amazing candidate of this election. He came back from the political dead several times.
Newt was the candidate of ideas. Newt was the candidate Obama feared. Obama never mocked or worried about anything Mitt Romney said or for that matter any other republican said. He worried about what Newt said.
When Obama attacked the Republicans, he attacked Newt’s ideas. Obama mocked Newt’s idea of $2.50 a gallon gas.
America’s future, at least at the Presidential level is bleak. We will either have a President who is an anti-American Marxist or his potential replacement is not only a liberal, but is basically a soulless technocrat
For Mitt Romney, the current situation our nation faces is simply a problem to be solved. There is no good or evil in solving a problem. There is simply the proper solution that works.
The problem is we are dealing with our nation.
Men and women do not willingly sacrifice themselves for a spreadsheet or for a government. Men and women will gladly sacrifice themselves for a cause greater than themselves.
The problems America now faces are more than simply a problem to be solved. The answer is not the correct monetary policy. It is not a question of whether the right system is used.
Freedom and liberty are causes for which people are passionate about. People do not rise up just because don’t happen to like the way someone talks. The question for freedom and liberty is a universal hunger.
Newt the historian understood this better than the other candidates.
He knew this campaign was not a sterile process of selecting a CEO. This was a contest of ideas. America needs the passionate ideas of a visionary to pull us away from the abyss. We need a Ronald Reagan, Thomas Jefferson and a George Washington.
Newt was not any of those men but he was the best candidate in the race.
Newt’s ideas were so far beyond everyone else’s that when he would make a point in a debate, the other candidates would simply nod like bobble heads.
This Easter weekend, Rick Santorum is meeting with some of his supporters. They will be talking about the future of his campaign. Newt can no longer win. Santorum’s chances are becoming slim.
Americans are not a people who look back. But this time, no matter what happens this fall, next year we may well be looking back wondering what might have been.
Thank you Newt.
Katie: Please show me where Newt is no longer running. I don't find that information just because the media would like us to believe that lie.
Thanks so much.
There is no such info available, Newt is still running, he has NOT withdrawn. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT HE HAS!!! HE IS STILL FIGHTING, and as long as he is fighting I AM FIGHTING WITH HIM!
Judson - you know that Newt is the one person who could help us restore our Nation and we let him down by allowing the Liberal Media and old Washington Establishment choose our candidate once again. When I hear once again women are flocking to Obama - it makes me sick; this shows me that people are very selfish and looking out for themselves not for our Country as a whole.
Obama is over 50% in job approval again and that's not looking good when we consider high gas prices, inflation, tremendous National Deficit, high unemployment and this is more than a red flag. Obama is pimping the women, schmoozing the African Americans and Hispanics, even our youth again. The way his Administration uses the Internet and social media could well be the reason for our demise again.
Newt could probably get gas lower than $2,50/gallon,Obama and his minions have weakened the dollar, that's why food and clothing is also at outrageous prices.
Canada is moving as we speak to sell oil to China. They've had enough of Obama's foolishness.
In a public one-on-one interview here with Jane Harman, head of the Wilson Centre think-tank, Harper said Obama's rejection of the controversial pipeline -- even temporarily -- stressed Canada's need to find other buyers for oilsands crude.
And that wouldn't change even if the president's mind did.
"Look, the very fact that a 'no' could even be said underscores to our country that we must diversify our energy export markets," Harper told Harman in front of a live audience of businesspeople, scholars, diplomats, and journalists.
I am so upset with the tea party for listening to the MSM, Romney and Paul in Iowa. I spent the last 3 years going to rally after rally. I do not care if he had failed marriages, our God is most forgiving. He has found his treasure in Callista and he has found religion. He is the only one who has went to Washington and actually changed the course. With the Tea Party Ihad hope. Propaganda has destroyed our once great nation. I leave you with this Judson and it breaks my heart that the tea party fell for the lies.http://newtgingrich360.com/video/newt-gingrich-the-republican-revol... I think the fight is over Washington has won. Thank you Newt for trying.
Newt cannot win it is over Mary Jo, We lost the establishment wins.Newt has his dreams for actually winning our future the tea party and religious people voted because the man had too many wives that was more important than our country to them.
After Romney is the nominee than they will wake up. TOO LATE FOLKS. Thank you Newt. We did try. BYE AMERICA.
The fight never ends. The battle will go on in local and in future elections. There really is no other option, since the flipside always leads to failure in the long run. Maybe Romney might win, and the country might be a little further from destruction than it is now, but that is not going to make everything wonderful and rosy again. The drive will always be to return to the principles and ideas that the country was founded on, simply because that system of individual freedom has an unmatched track record.
Newt was our best hope.
Still is, Bunky! We ain't dead yet!
Here's something you can do. Check out this site http://massresistance.org/romney/ and then spread the word all over the internet - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs, emails. That will do 2 things - it might help Newt and it will make you feel better.
Newt has promised to hang in until August - how can we do less? And, oh yes, send money.
Seriously, Ed (and Woneta), we can't quit now. Newt's crazy plan might just work, if we help him work it.
Although I not an American, but as an outsider, I would love to see the following after November.
Mitt Romney as President
Newt gibgrich as VP
Rick Sanrorum as Sec of State. I am sure that Santorum would be the fist Sec of State to stop the anti Israeli bias, that has always plagued the State Dept. move the US embassy to Jerusalem, state catagorically, that Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel
And help to stop the hatred of Israel by people who have no idea of the truth. People who are led by the Arabs with lies about Israel, and stop them saying that the Jews treat the Palestinians worse than the Nazis treated the Jews.
The problem is, that the Arab propaganda is outstanding, and the people who have never met a Jew (14 million in the whole world) 1.5 billion Muslims, and something like over 1 billion Christians, who swallow the Arab lies.
Time for the world to wake up to reality and stop the BDS campaign.
when the media, & or a political party can determine who runs in any political election it is time
to throw in the hat, reboot the system, have a coup, whatever.
america as we knew it is done. it will never recover. it is too corrupt.
presidential candidates should be given a spending limit. they should be allotted the same amount of airtime.
no news organization should be allowed to cheerlead, or distribute lies, propaganda, if they do their licenses should be permanently revoked. lobbyists should be run out of the electoral process, that, or tar & feather them. the process is totally corrupt. now we have a choice of either electing the enemy, or a stuffed suit for president. i will vote the stuffed suit, but out of everyone who ran it should have been newt. the republican party early on decided it would be romney. ($$$).
