Last Friday, in an amazing act of unity, the Conservative Blogosphere united for “Blog about Brett Kimberlin day.”
The idea was simple. Conservative bloggers from all over the nation would blog about Kimberlin and his war against his critics.
Now something else has come up and conservatives should be just as outraged about it. Not only that, they should do something about it.
What is it?
It is the practice of Swatting conservative bloggers.
Swatting is a practice that involves calling 911 from either a spoofed number or a blocked number and relaying information that would get the police to a home in force.
Patrick Frey, who blogs as Patterico, was the victim of a Swatting back on July 1, 2011. Someone called 911, claimed they were Frey and claimed that he had shot and killed his wife. Needless to say, the SWAT team showed up and Frey was taken out of his house at gunpoint in a situation that could have easily ended up with Frey being shot.
Frey had been in a long-running online feud with Bret Kimberlin. Kimberlin is a convicted felon, having been sentenced to fifty years at one point for using a bomb to maim a man. Kimberlin has a long criminal record and at one time claimed he sold marijuana to Dan Quayle. Since his release from prison, Kimberlin has become a far left wing activist.
He and his supporters have also engaged in vexatious attacks against those who would dare to criticize him. Frey has documented much of what he has been through on his blog.
Conservative bloggers got tired of the harassment and banded together for “Blog about Bret Kimberlin day.” One of the primary bloggers who led the charge was Eric Erickson of Redstate.com and CNN contributor.
Yesterday, Erickson was swatted. Someone called 911 and claimed there had been an accidental shooting at the Erickson house. Fortunately, Erickson had already talked to the Sheriff’s office in his county and he knew the deputies that arrived at his house.
Shockingly enough, the mainstream media is not even reporting on this. Not even CNN where Erickson is a contributor.
What is worse is apparently the Department of Justice is not doing anything about these attacks on conservative bloggers.
Former Department of Justice Attorney J. Christian Adams on Breitbart.com wrote a piece today saying Attorney General Eric Holder could stop the swatting in 48 hours if he wanted to.
The Swatting of Frey and Erickson are both criminal offenses. They are both violations of Federal law.
Why isn’t the Department of Justice doing anything?
Inquiring minds want to know.
You can bet if a conservative activist were doing this to a politically favored leftist group, not only would this be all over the media, the Department of Justice would be pulling out all of the stops to make arrests and solve this case.
In third world counties, justice is often a factor of who you know and if you are in favor with the government. America is supposed to be a land where we have equal justice under the law. Under the administration of Eric Holder and Barack Obama, that is no longer true.
Who is responsible for these acts of swatting? Who knows at this point but that is why you have an investigation.
Why isn’t the Department of Justice treating this as a major investigation? Will they do something before the swatters create a situation where someone is killed?
We should find out.
Tomorrow, everyone, conservative and liberal should call their Congressmen and demand they ask the Department of Justice why they are not doing anything about these crimes?
If Congress puts pressure on DOJ, they will have to act. Whoever is responsible for these “swattings” is trying to set up a confrontation where a conservative blogger is killed.
If last Friday was “Blog about Bret Kimberlin day,” then Tuesday should be demand justice for Patrick Frey and Eric Erickson day. Tuesday call your Congressman and ask them to demand to know why the Department of Justice is not doing anything to investigate these crimes.

Why? Duh..... Eric Holder is the Attorney General of the United States, appointed by BHO and confirmed by members of both the Democrat and GOP "establishment."
Next question.....
Permalink Reply by KathleenSt on May 28, 2012 at 6:25pm James, nothing is going to be investigated because this is not a major crisis to the DOJ.
All part of the plan -- diversion, divide, condemn, criticize, ostracize.
You get it.
Consider this operation normal.

Permalink Reply by KathleenSt on May 28, 2012 at 6:37pm Juls: because there is no reason for him to be in prison.
What has congress done to put him there?
We the people do not have the authority to take him to court.
Permalink Reply by Norman Zink on May 28, 2012 at 6:22pm Holder and the DOJ do nothing because there would be no accrual of political capital to act on behalf of a conservative blogger. Meaning that they gain nothing.
I'll be calling on Tuesday, tomorrow.

Permalink Reply by Mike G. on May 28, 2012 at 6:46pm Several bloggers, including me, have been writing about this story for the past week or so, since Aaron (Worthing) Walker came out with his 28,000 word article outlining his travails with convicted felon Brett Kimberlin. One of these bloggers, Robert Stacy McCain who blogs at http://TheOtherMcCain.com , had to leave his home with his family and go to an undisclosed location because of security concerns. Kimberlin or one of his douchebag friends made a harassing phone call to McCain's wife's workplace.
Kimberlin and his leftist friends don't play nice, but they're going to run up on the wrong person one of these days.
