There are few times where we can say we are really standing on the edge of history.  This is one of them.

Sometime this week, the Supreme Court will release its long awaited Obamacare decision.

There are really only two ways the decision can go.  The Supreme Court can uphold liberty or allow us to slide into tyranny.

From Fox News:

At last, the verdict.

Republicans and Democrats are girding for a politically explosive week as the Supreme Court prepares to rule as early as Monday on the federal health care overhaul.

The ruling, as campaign advisers are well aware, has the potential to re-shape this year's presidential race. For weeks, each party has been positioning itself to make the best of whatever outcome emerges from the tight-lipped justices.

And the implications go far beyond the 2012 election. The outcome of the health care case, involving one of the most divisive domestic policies in modern times, will affect millions of Americans. Calling for the law's survival, supporters trumpet the expanded consumer protections and subsidies that make insurance more available and affordable. Calling for its defeat, critics blast what they describe as an unconstitutional requirement to buy health insurance, and warn the law will pummel businesses with its mandates and fines.

In the run-up to the historic ruling, each party is crafting a game-plan.

House Speaker John Boehner this past week cautioned the GOP ranks against "spiking" the ball if the mandate is struck down. He and other Republicans say the party will remain focused on repealing whatever parts of the law remain following the upcoming ruling. And, they say, they'll pursue "step-by-step" reforms to replace the law no matter the court's decision.

Every Republican should be spiking the football here, if we win.  This will be a win for freedom and liberty.

Unfortunately for us, many of the big government Republicans want to replace Obamacare with Romneycare.  We must stand and fight that.

If you are in Washington, Tuesday night, the Congressional Tea Party Caucus along with Tea Party Nation, TheTeaparty.net and other groups will be holding a townhall and possible celebration if the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare on Monday.

It will be Tuesday, at 7 PM at the Capitol Hill Club.  If you are not in Washington, the event will be streamed live on Unityrally2012.com.

Join us as we stand against the tyranny of the Obama Regime and hopefully can spike a football on Tuesday night.

How about getting the billions of dollars back they had written into it to start this damn nightmare...

i totally agree but my guess is that BO spent the money already.

You've got Obama's number !!!!!

Yes we are on the edge of History because of what is to come.

Boy it's nerf or nothing!

Can you trust the SCOTUS; or have they been bought off.

If the SCOTUS does not think Obama care is unconstitutional, then they have been bought off.

You wouldn't think that Supreme Court Justices could be threatened.

Kate,

As much as I'd love to think your statement is true, however our Supreme Court was threatened in 1937 and subsequently we have been paying for it ever since. Liberals/Progressives will stoop to any level to promote their European Socialist agenda on America.

I believe the Supremes will find the mandate unconstitutional and as a result the whole bill is void. The mandate is integral to the massive funding needed to support it. This bill is bereft with failures. Some have been already exposed such as the failure of CLASS and others would surely emerge when the program began its full function.

Government has never been able to predict future costs its programs may evolve into, to believe this massive intrusion into our economy is any different is an affront to our intelligence. History will define Obamacare as no more than an ideological wet-dream from Liberal/Progressive elitists.

Here is a link to those interested in the corruption FDR used to get his New Deal "must legislation" passed. Not that I think Obama would go to this length, it’s frightening that it happened to begin with.

"Every Republican should be spiking the football here, if we win.  This will be a win for freedom and liberty"...and make Obama 0 for 3 at the SCOTUS.  Spike it, absolutely...over the goal post cross bar!  But first, maybe our side could perform a classy little end zone line dance a la the Thriller video.  Heh-heh.

No matter the Supreme's decision, American health care issues will need to be addressed.  It is too much to hope that government will simply opt to stay out of the relationship between patient and physician.  Insurance must be somehow regulated to protect those who purchase it.  Let us work to return such regulation to the states where it's battles can be decided by state government.

Spiking the ball after a favorable ruling would be rude and ill considered.  It is well past time that political officials begin to observe traditional good manners which always are displayed with respect to others.  O'Reilly, Hannity, and all the talking heads (many with valid points endlessly repeated) who talk over those whom they are interviewing have set an poor example of public dialogue that complements the divisions of opinion and political persuasion that mark contemporary American politics.  Rude division does not encourage the resolution of real problems.  One would think that we might elevate debates by sticking to true statements and logical conclusions rather than defense of personal and party interests by warping and even inventing facts.  Public behavior these days shares more of its mannerly behavior with petulant children than with adults intent on discovering the best way to proceed.

You may be right, but it is very hard to be civil when you are dealing with Liberals.

John,

You said, "One would think that we might elevate debates by sticking to true statements and logical conclusions rather than defense of personal and party interests by warping and even inventing facts." As much as many of us would agree with you the facts are that we don't have a clue what PPACA, ACA, Obamacare or whatever we want to call it is or is "evolving" into.

As it turns out, one of the law’s supposed benefits, tax subsidies to assist certain households with the purchase of health insurance, introduces a substantial marriage tax penalty, expands welfare through the tax code, discriminates against people with workplace health insurance, and will likely further explode the nation’s deficit. This is the degree of uncertainty we are dealing with in this massive redistribution of wealth.

As much as I'd love to debate the course of this bill with true statements and logical conclusions, it's impossible. The reason being is that since its inception Kathleen Sebelius has already added over 12,000 pages of regulations and they haven't even covered half of the bill yet. An additional 159 agencies have been added to the mountain of bureaucracy known as health care already. This is no more health care reform than Dodd-Frank is financial reform. It's a massive power grab of 1/6th of our economy to be filled with waste, fraud, abuse and corruption by political and financial elitists.

Petulance is a result of a criminal government not telling us what they are doing with our tax dollars and more importantly to our Liberties. Once the government decides to represent us rather than resent us we can proceed with discovering the best way to proceed. Until then talking over them is the only way they understand our feelings and realize we will not be unilaterally led down their European Socialist path of destruction.
