No one spends money like Barack Obama. He does not care what the tax payers think or even what happens to them.
He has just done it again.
What has he done?
He has gone off fundraising again, sticking the taxpayers with the tab.
In other words, we the people are paying for the privilege of this clown running for reelection.
How is that happening?
Yesterday Barack Obama went to two star studded fundraisers in New York. Ordinarily if the President goes to a strictly political event, the campaign is on the hook for at least some of the costs of the trip.
But surprise, Obama threw in an amazingly brief trip to the World Trade Center site and suddenly it is an official trip and the taxpayers are stuck with the tab.
Would it be snide to mention yesterday was Flag Day and remind everyone of Michelle Obama’s “All of this for a flag,” comment at the 9/11 ten year anniversary ceremony?
Obama has mastered what Bill Clinton started; the perpetual campaign.
Obama has already done over 150 fundraisers. Just to put that in perspective, that is more than the last six Presidents, COMBINED.
Presidents have used this loophole in the past. George W. Bush did it. Bill Clinton did it before him. None of them have used it to the extent or the same audacity as Barack Obama.
America is broke. Millions of Americans are out of work and millions more fear losing their jobs. Of course, none of this bothers King Barry or Queen Michelle.
After all, the little people just exist to pay taxes so the Obamas can go on vacation.
Between fundraisers, vacations, golf games and blaming Bush, it is a wonder that Obama has time to govern.
Actually, we probably should not complain. If Obama spent more time on the job, there is no telling how much more damage he would be doing to America.
While the Republicans are already measuring Mitt Romney for his Air Force One jacket, there is a serious issue here they need to address.
The taxpayers should not be forced to foot the bill for any President’s reelection campaign.
We need a simply change in the law.
The President must fly on Air Force One and he must be protected. Okay, those are givens. The law needs to say instead of allowing the President to lump one minor public event in with half a dozen political events and sticking the taxpayers with the bill, the procedure must be changed to forcing the campaigns to pick up a pro-rata share of the cost.
If the President goes on the road and spends one hour at an official event and nine hours at political events, then the campaign needs to pick up half the cost. If the President divides his time evenly between campaign and official appearances, then the campaign only has to take half the costs.
Both parties have used this system. Barack Obama has abused it. We cannot afford any more of Barack Obama’s spending and we certainly should not be forced to pay for his reelection campaign.
