Speculation continues re: VP pick, has anyone mentioned that Rubio, is ineligible?

The left would have a great horse laugh and propaganda wind fall if Romney chose Rubio. Rubio was borne in Cuba to Cuban parents, I know everyone is aware of this, but something to consider. I have great admiration for Mark Rubio but he is not a natural born citizen.

Marco Rubio was born on May 28, 1971, in Miami, Florida, to parents who were Cuban nationals, and were in this country legally at the time of his birth. Make of that what you will, but please do basic fact-checking before posting. People will take you a lot more seriously when you don't write nonsense such as repeating the false rumor that Marco Rubio was not born in this country. He is Florida-born and bred, and the pride of the US Senate.

Thanks for the correction, though he still is not eligible.

Not a problem. As far as I know, there are Constitutional arguments on both sides, some saying being born on US soil is enough, others saying one must be born on US soil to two US citizens. Either way, I think it is moot, because I think Rubio will not be selected, nor will Bobby Jindal, who was also born here (in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) to parents who were foreign nationals in our country legally at the time of his birth. Too bad, too, because they are both great men. I think we need Rubio right where he is, and the people of Louisiana, who have suffered so much under Democratic corruption and incompetence for decades, need Jindal right where he is as well. I think Romney will choose someone for VP that he thinks is "safe", because that is pretty much how he thinks (or so it appears).

There are the correct arguments and the leftist want-to-be arguments.

Consider Senate Resolution SR 511 approved 99-0.  John McCain was deemed a natural born citizen due to his birth to citizen parents.  McCain was born in Panama.  Ironically, Obama co-sponsored the bill.  The same standard was not applied to Obama, who is not a legitimate President.  Thank God that we may at any time remove him from office, dismiss his appointments, and abrogate his onerous Executive Orders and laws he has signed.  There is no statute of limitations with Fraud Upon the Court.

Reflect that yesterday Obama declared a State of Emergency.  Under the authority that he has usurped he can take control over pretty much everything of value in the United States, including factories, roads, trucks, trains, planes, airports, energy plants, telephones, the Internet and all commodities. I haven't seen the New York Times reporting on this new State of Emergency.

Born in the USA does NOT make one an Art. II, Sec. 1 "Natural Born Citizen!!!

The tacit implication of the RNC & the US Congress not vetting for this prerequisite is:

   1. That they are afraid a challenge to a Republican candidate would REQUIRE they apply the same standard to OBummer &

   2. That by condoning a Republican VP - KNOWN not to be a "NBC" they effectively ignore the Constitution - there by re-writing it and simultaneously violating their oath of office which will tend to allow future violations at will, for political expediency.

Do you get the drift yet? -- that our Republic is at serious risk from both parties!!!

Charley

You are 100% correct.

Rubio is not eligible, because he is not a natural born citizen. Just because the Republicans let the Democrats repeatedly violate the Constitution, doesn't make it right.

Rubio was born in America to non-citizen parents at the time of his birth. He is not a natural born citizen.  Everyone knows it. If the Rinos put him up as a candidate, it will be the end of the Republican Party.  We can tolerate no further flaunting of the Constitution.

I received this information today and thought I would pass it along for everyone's consideration:

Dear CV Friend,

An announcement is expected any day now.

Who do you think Mitt will pick as his Vice President?

There are several prominent candidates believed to be on his shortlist. The CatholicVote.org Research Team has compiled a dossier on seven candidates considered very likely to chosen to be Mitt Romney's running mate: Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Rob Portman, Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, Bob McDonnell, and Paul Ryan.

We thought you would like some background on each of these candidates before an annoucnement was made.

Let me know who you think it willl be.

Sincerely,

Brian Burch
CatholicVote.org Candidate Fund
P.P.S. If you are aware of any inaccuracies or changes that should be included in this dossier, please let me know and we'll post an update to our website.
