As we fight in 2012, we must get people in office who understand the threats there are to liberty. It is so refreshing to see someone who really understands there is a problem and wants to do something about it.
Who is it?
It is my friend Jamie Radtke in Virginia.
Jamie is running for the United State Senate in Virginia for the seat being vacated by James Webb. The media is already trying to spin the race as one with liberal, former DNC chair Tim Kaine against big government Republican George Allen. There is just one catch. There has not been a primary yet and the Republican challenger has not been decided.
But what does Jamie get?
Unlike so many of those dim bulbs in Washington, she realizes the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Senate version of it, called the PROTECT-IP bill are really bad bills and they would destroy the internet as we know it.
The Internet has been the greatest thing for free speech since the invention of the printing press. Ideas can be expressed and broadcast out for the world to consider at almost no cost. As a revolution, there has been nothing like that in centuries.
SOPA is a huge government incursion into freedom. It is a disaster. SOPA gives the government or even private individuals the right to file a lawsuit that will wipe out a website before the owners of the site even get a day in court. The possibilities for an abuse of power are staggering. The possiblities for mischief by those who oppose free speech are almost limitless.
The Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, is criminal in the same way. Through SOPA, the U.S. government and private companies will be able to censor free speech by killing web sites they claim are engaging in, enabling or facilitating infringement of copyrights. The Attorney General (Eric Holder!) would have the power to kill any web site he desires by denying it access to search engines, advertisers and payment processors like Visa. By the time the web site appeals the government’s attack, it may already be out of business.
Ordinarily I do not allow fundraising appeals on Tea Party Nation. In fact, blogs and postings that have links to fundraisers are routinely deleted. I feel so strongly about Jamie’s commitment to freedom and her opposition to SOPA/PROTECT-IP that I am making an exception to that rule.
Jamie’s website is here. You can help her by donating to her campaign.
She is facing the end of the year crunch and needs a good fundraising drive to start into next year.
If Tim Kaine is the next Senator from Virginia, he will simply be an Obama lackey, who would certainly vote for a bill that kills freedom of speech on the Internet. George Allen cannot beat Tim Kaine and even if he did, he is a big government Republican. Who knows what he would do, but looking at his past record, it is a safe bet he would fall on the side of big government.
We need another Senator who will fall on the side of liberty and freedom.
We need Jamie Radtke.
Help Jamie Radtke today!
We need all the help we can get and the cards are stacked against us, so it will take a real dog fight to move the people in the right direction....Some still listen to the MSM and believe what they say, tell me it aint so, I wish I could.............

( Drawing first blood! ) And if you have a rebuttal to a comment would it be possible to quote the author correctly? To change a quote to fit your rebuttal makes the rebuttal a lie with intent to deceive.

Permalink Reply by Ritchard Little on December 30, 2011 at 9:48pm Norman if that is meant for me, no i a an uneducated high school drop out but with a high IQ in common sense, but thanks i think.
Permalink Reply by Timothy W. O'Leary on December 30, 2011 at 8:07pm Thanks to George Bush, the inmates took over the Va asylum in 2008, costing us Virgil Goode, allowing Periello to get into office, and Warner & Webb to serve their evil master well.
Tim Kaine is the worst of the worst. Allen is an oblivious dufus, but way better than Kaine.
Webb's book "Lost Soldiers" should have had him banned , but somehow voters didn't know or care they were empowering (a) sick twisted freak(s) to run their State(Country).
Oh, I know, I'm an anti-intellectual for thinking Webb's art is crap, or objecting to his To The Left of Left voting record in the Senate. I think Webb is dellusional like the other Democrats.
I think the electorate scared themselves straight, and we now have a pretty good gov and super AG.
I look forward to learning about and hearing from this candidate, and hopefully have an opportunity to vote for.
Permalink Reply by Christopher Marlow on December 30, 2011 at 10:31pm Judson, if she will sign a Pledge, on video, to oppose SOPA and legislation which censors or removes freedoms - with the expressed condition of her being jailed in the WORST prison in Virginia for the remainder of her term if she goes back on her word, then I will vote for her. Of that you have my word.

Permalink Reply by Mary Xiques on December 30, 2011 at 10:56pm We all need to get involved. I wrote my Congress person (Marsha Blackburn) that I had always supported her, but that if she continues to support SOPA that I would not vote for her next year.
We need to bombard Washington and tell them to prevent this bill from passing. It is a violation of the First Amendment.
Permalink Reply by Charles Wimberly on December 30, 2011 at 11:19pm 100% agree Judson. The SOPA is an attack on the First Amendment. We must back anyone who is against this dangerous act. Have the Republican candidates taken a position on it?
Permalink Reply by Tucker Watkins on December 31, 2011 at 12:08am We really need to focus on state level more. Washington is taken over by bankers. We been sold to them.
