Senators Alexander and Corker, Unemployed Tennessee Workers Need Those Jobs

Even as tens of thousands of Tennessee workers are struggling to find a job, Congress has continued to issue 125,000 new work visas a month to immigrants and other foreign workers. This equals 1.5 million new foreign workers each year, who compete directly with Tennessee residents for a very limited number of Tennessee's jobs.

Who benefits from allowing 1.5 million new foreign workers into the U.S. each year? Certainly not the 257,000 residents of Tennessee who are currently unemployed. Unfortunately, Sens. Alexander and Corker have done nothing to reduce the number of foreign workers to the U.S. And as a result, unemployed Tennessee workers continue to suffer.
